Profanity...?

I'm not trying to start a flame war, but I feel as though it should be pointed out that the approach towards profanity seems quite far-fetched. Yes, there are young-kids who browse these boards, and anything obscene (pornography and the like) is completely unnacceptable in this type of environment.

However, I think that some are forgetting that this game is aged 15/16+. So whilst I know that you will get a lot of kids playing the game who are younger than that, technically it's the parents responsibilty, and I don't feel as though this restriction should affect the whole forum. Il-2 (classic) is a different story (I'm not, incidentally, going to go into a debate in how the two forums should be moderated differently) but for a game that is aimed at those over the age of 16, it seems a bit OTT to apply this restriction to the community.

I don't advocate the use of profanity in any way, but it can be said in a jokey way, and a one-week ban is just ridiculous. This forum may be an ideological microcosm of real-life (Big Brother is watching you) but I think a more mature approach to this should be taken.
It is a contentious issue, and I respect the admin team for even approaching it, but I definitely think that there are flaws which need to be ironed out (maybe in the forum system whereby 13 year olds can view every-forum. If they are happy to view the swear-words, they will most likely fake their age)

Many thanks.
