STEAM uses bandwidth when idle?
S!
Does anyone know if Steam uses significant bandwidth when idle? I ask because for the first time ever I am going over my 10GB per month bandwidth limit set by my ISP (BT). For a good couple of years now I have been under the limit every month, and now I am going over. BT are claiming that on some days I am using up to 4GB ... in one day. That surely can't be right and it's getting expensive. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts/suggestions/experiences on this. Thanks PPP |
Steam game updates will download automatically unless you specify otherwise. So I guess the more games you have in Steam, the more potential it has to use up your monthly allowance.
I'd upgrade that 10GB cap if I were you, it'll cost you more anyway if you keep going over it. Personally I could get through that in a matter of days :P |
10 GB per MONTH, jez go tell BT to get stuffed and buy elsewhere.
