A question about Zoom in Simulator mode

Hi all,

I'm having a poll over at the developers forum about Zoom in Simulator mode. It's maybe not such a problem in BOP since those who fly with Aviator or Custom mode don't have Zoom, but it could really become a problem for realism in the sequel. As I've seen with the flight model poll, most of you want to have it as realistic as possible, at least as an option.

For taking part in the poll click the link this line.

You need to be registered there to participate.

:)

Thanks,

MAC

I have trouble registering on that forum MAC, but i agree 100% with you about the zoom. I can't use it because i fly aviator but few considerations... Zoom isn't realistic at all but can be a good drawback on system with relatively low definition outputs... ( consolle like ps3 ) to read instrument panel ! :-) For example, i can't read the compass properly on 51 cockpit without zooming.... and i can't do that so i'm forced to open the map to get my bearing.....

Good point there Bobby, the new forum is a 100% better than the old yuplay forum but still a bit slow. Anyway, as good as discussion here are, much of this won't reach the devs, except the performance discussion we're having here which I'll somehow carry to them ;)

Vdomini and Gilly,

I checked and your names are both are already registered there. The old yuplay forum accounts were transferred over to the new forum, the memberships remain valid. If you remember the email address you used to sign up you can retrieve your password. Please don't use your membernames to request the password as this doesn't seem to work, but the email address.

Any problems, let me know.

Forget about zoom don't really use that, but i cant look behind me while using the flight stick. i can only look 90 degrees up, right and left. its a big draw back!

How do you get so many kills using the hat switch to look around? Amazing!

I use zoom to id targets at a distance. The way I figure it our eyes could pick out those colors at a greater distance than the the game allows and zoom just counters the shortcomings of 720p vision.
