Any interest is forming a Carrier based squadron?
 

Hey all,


I was looking to start up a Carrier based squadron. Perhaps a mid-late war VC or VBF unit. I just want to gather interest on the matter. It would be based in the US however all are invited. I just feel the sea calling me back. Plus I am former Navy so I am partial :grin:.


Possible units? (4.12.2 + HSFX 7.0.3)

• VC: FM-2, TBM-1C
• VC: TBF-1C, SBD-5
• VBF: F4U-1d or F4U-1c
• VF: F6F-5
• VB: SBD-5
• VT: TBM-1C

What version Spektre?

I can operate an SBD, though never have tried from a CVE. The FM-2 I can operate from a CVE but I am not a good fighter pilot lol. Just curious, what ship was VC-4 assigned to?

I believe they were on the USS White Plains (CVE-66) - Casablanca class.

And the squadron emblems I posted are just for reference only. There are many others out there.

Yeah me too. I have been flying IL-2:Battle of XXXXX for awhile. I am also former Navy - AC1 (AW/SW).

VBF-85 'Sky Pirates' would be a good one. I am very familiar with the F4U in expert mode.There is a ton of documentation on them with BuNo numbers and what not. I am also a pretty accomplished skinner. So I can do all of our stuff for us.


A/C #1 after landing.

Anyone interested in perhaps doing a carrier based coop based on the Coral Sea Battle?

Based on Events of May 8, 1942. USS Yorktown attack on Japanese carriers Zuikaku and Shokaku.

Lets say this upcoming Saturday. Room for 20. 6 VF and 7 VS. I like full real settings but it doesn't have to be. I know some of you older guys have trouble seeing. ;)

I am older and have trouble seeing sometimes but I still would only fly online if it was hard settings and no mods.
