SBD bomb release height
 

Good afternoon fellow fliers.
I have noticed that when I use bomb fuses on instant with an SBD, it gives me a minimum drop altitude of 193m (633 ft) However I have noticed any time I drop bombs any altitude below 2000 ft, they will not explode.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Quite a while ago one of the patches fixed the bombs so that they would not go off if they hit the ground less than a second or two after their release. I think it was two but the info is not right in front of me.

Even when skipping you have to be so high I think or they will not work. Of course if you are diving at hundreds of miles-per-hour you have to be much higher than if you are flying level and your vertical speed is zero.

The fuse delay only affects what happens after the bomb properly lands.
