why should vsync improve the performance??? vsync eliminate tearing by not more than 60 frames p. s. are allowed.! nothing more and nothing less. |
As far as I know it affects screen tearing which is most noticeable when making quick movements in-game. Turning it on basically eliminates this while giving a very slight, if even noticeable, performance hit. :)
|
Turn it on. It limits and sincronices the frames to your monitor refresh rate, betther and smooth perceptual movement.
|
Per NVIDIA control panel, turn off vsync for higher performance and benchmarking. Turn on for better image quality and reduce horizontal tearing.
|
if you have no tearing don't turn it on:-)

S!
For some reason the tearing is the same if I have VSync on or off, even slightly better if Off in game. So I left it off. FPS is about the same with or without it but somehow smoother feeling with it off. |
Vsync seems working with aero off, but it is not smooth (win7 64b)

It's weird, the new V-Sync caps my frame rate at 60 (so something is working) but I still get tearing. |
