possible bug in skill system
ok. I have the English version of AP and recently i've come through this weird bug. I'm a level 25 paladin with level 2 linguistics. When i point my cursor to "linguistics" in the skill tree, it says "level 2,+3 intellect.... next level:+6 intellect". The problem is when i click the icon in order to advance to level 3, i only get 3 more intellect points !!! Has anyone else here encountered anything similar to this?

That's how its supposed to work; what is listed is the total points gained.
At level 1 you get +1 intellect. At level 2 you get +3 intellect TOTAL, so stepping from level 1 to level 2 really only nets you a +2 gain on top of the +1 you got from level 1. At level 3 you get +6 intellect TOTAL, so stepping from level 2 to level 3 really only nets you a +3 gain on top of the +3 you got from levels 1 & 2. All skills in all 3 skill trees work that way. |
Hi!
It's not a bug. The number you see is the total you get when you pick that skill. So Linguistic 2 gives you +3 in total and Linguistic 3 gives you +6 in total. It might be badly written. Using your way of thinking the numbers should have been +1, +2, and +3, where all numbers stack with each other. But not so in KBTL, the numbers do not stack. |
Thank you "loreangelicus" and "ivra" for clearing this up. :)
