Has anyone unlocked the B-17 yet?
 

Has anyone unlocked the B-17 yet? and if so, would you VERY kindly post which mission unlocks it? thank you.

I'd say your best bet is the Single Missions, they seem to unlock a lot of the planes.

As for which one I can't say, it would be good of we could compile a list on here of what unlocks what...

that would make life easier. as id just go and do the planes i wanted. Im NEVER going to fly the Yak, or the A20-G, but yet its apparently VITAL i unlock the encyclopaedia.

however, ive done the campaign and only have 6 single mission left, and ive only got about 20 planes, so ill go through it all again on the next difficulty setting.

There are some unlocks sprinkled around the single missions but I haven't gotten anything good yet. Just different gun configs and Encyclopedia stuff.

How do you unlock the Spitfire? It's the only plane I can keep in the air for very long.

So far, I've gotten the MK II from the Battle of Britain, and the MK IX from the first mission in Sicily.

BTW someone tell me if I've messed up on any of the model names.

Also, I think you unlock the B-17 in Single mission, not sure which mission in the Battle of the Bulge, but I think Single mission is where you unlock it?

ive done battle of the bulge, maybe i need to do it in a harder difficulty. thanks though :)

I've done it on Realistic, and tried it on Sim. But neither got me the B-17. I got Silver in both, so maybe you have to get Gold? But does the ranked: Bronze, Silver, and Gold really mean anything?

is that a PS thing? cus ive not seen any gold bronze or silver stuff, other than the indicators that tell me what difficulty ive done it in.

Nvm, I was just confused on what it was. So no, it's not a PS3 thing :cool:

part of me wonders if it doesnt matter what order you do stuff, if you just get stuff in the same order after so many missions. ill just keep plugging away, only got 6 missions left, then ill do campaign and missions again in realistic, and then again in simulator.

Has anyone flown a 4 engine bomber in the game yet?

All i can think of is winning some ranked Strike matches to unlock it....

I am disgusted that the b-17 doesn't feature in the campaign or single missions, and you can't even unlock it if you don't have xbl / psn

I was sure that all the planes would be available 2/3 way thru the campaign so you would get a chance to fly them all in missions. WTF.

They are in the campaign. Havent played all the single missions, so I dont know if they are in there too or not.

If they have not unlocked in campaign or single missions, it must be strike online, that would make the most sense.

the guys here are saying they've completed every mission on sim and still no b-17 :(

they are in campain but non flyable. in the battle of the bulge

in the live demo we are showed one in the hanger, the guy even says "there's the flying fortress"

yes but not flyable in the campain

but possibly flyable in MP / training? i thought only flyable aircraft get shown in the hanger?
