Ace Edge Where?
 

I've been searching the net for prices for the Ace Edge stick but I cannot find it for sale anywhere! (in the UK at least) Where did you guys pick it up? So far, the ONLY option in the UK is the Aviator and I already have a PC version of it for 1946 so don't really want to get it again!

Yeah, same here. It seems that this stick was a limited edition that was shipped with Ace Combat. Some are being sold via ebay but I don't think you can just go to a shop and buy it there.

Actually that's a shame, it really looks like an excellent piece of hardware. :(

Grüetzi :) - Austrian here. It's the same for me, don't wanna order it from the States or Hong Kong. But finally I may find myself forced to - if there are any sticks left on the market when IL-2 comes out for the box.

Same here, shipping costs too much. Also I'm really not interested in buying Ace Combat 6 just to get the stick. I just want a decent HOTAS stick for my 360. I've heard that Hori do one but its Japanese only. :( MS need to sort this out.

So, I juste have a phone with my game's shop and hey told me they own a Hori Flight Stick Black at....200 Euros.....argh.... maybe a bit expencive if I buy it only for BOP :rolleyes:
But..I will have a look today at the Saitek, If I definitely dont like it I will have to spend a bit my money for a Hori... In the hope that BOP's Sales will be fine and Upgrade and BOP 2 will come one day :) :)

from what i understand its better made but it is the same layout as the ace combat stick so you are getting the best stick on 360 BAR NONE.

they only made 2000 and they are EXTREMELY rare , so if i already didnt have an ace stick i would jump at the oppertunity.

BUY THE STICK , its amazinig and it works great with other flight games.

Most of all it makes looking around in the cockpit amazingly easy and it makes simulator mode alot easier to handle

No, the Hori is a unique Japanese only piece of hardware and quite difficult to get and generally very expensive!!

I've no experience with it, just telling you things I read on the internet. A bit more delving seems to suggest that the Ace Edge is actually a Hori stick like you suggested, whether they are the same or not I do not know, but I have to admit they look similar.

That stick is based on the Saitek X36. I got one at home for my PC that I cannot use anymore since it was not compatible since installing Win XP. I wish I was an electronics genius to rebuild it for the XBox 360 :(

Try to get the guy in the game shop to check the Hori's compatibility by using it with AC6 or any other flight game on the 360. As far as I know, the Hori was made for Ace Combat 5 on the PS2, so it may not work with the 360 even though it is very similar looking to the Ace Edge.

It is the exact same stick as the Ace Edge (Which is a Hori stick, no surprise) in every other way.

Yes this does seem to be the case from further investigation... I wonder why its not for sale outside of Japan and outside of the Ace Combat bundle? I guess they must have some deal together to make it exclusive to boost sales of Ace Combat 6,

okok so I need to check that before but the guy didn't know if it's compatible with or no...So maybe I can take it, try it if it's work and if not bring it back.

All 360 flightstick have to adhere to a standardization set by MS to be licensed, so they all work with any game that supports flightsticks.

Also, as mentioned already... It is the exact same stick as the Ace Edge, made by the exact same company. Yes, it is compatible. :)

Pricey. Is this version compatible with the PC as well? I don't really want to spend around £180 on a flight stick I will only use with one game.

Except wireless ones for which you can get an inexpensive wireless receiver from Microsoft anyway. :)

well well well, I finaly I phone again my game's shop and they confirm me that the model is fully compatible with PC :) :) :)

I bought that thing so long ago, that I often forget that the compatibility isn't just there. :)

Why can't we get a bundle with a decent joystick when BoP is released? :confused: I mean is only Namco clever enough to do that (for a much inferior game like Ace Combat:???:)

Guess I'll buy the Saitek Aviator, get mad and then import that piece of hardware anyway...

Hahaha, yeah It what I was ready to do ! But you know maybe the Saitek is enough to play this game...you know spending 200 Euros for this flight stick make me a little bit mad because I spending more than 350 euros for all the accessoires PC flight Stick... but...if it's work well on the PC I will sale my old Flight Stick... Everything for BOP :rolleyes:

Deadzone is hard to say, i want to see it tested with BoP

Hori tested with BOP, no dead zone. It's a software programming thing, hardware is not the problem. With Ace Combat, the developer didn't want to give an advantage to those wo play with the stick. Wich was friggin' wrong in my opinion.

Nope indeed no Deadzone or a minimal one, Over the aviator i have now 10x more control.

Hori = Awesome
