Death to Spies: Moment of Truth Demo Available

Death to Spies: Moment of Truth demo is now available to download here. The release of the game is scheduled for release later this summer.

The demo features a single level from the game called “Polish Surprise.” In this level the player infiltrates a Nazi castle to destroy a weapons cache and intercept a radio transmission of top-secret intelligence.

Nice, would be nice to have an exact date of the release! :D.

Pizzadvl 07-30-2009 11:27 AM

Just played it,

Nice. But he runs a little... strange :P.
And finally you can punch them in the face!

Also an error, when you go to the upstairs, the SS say: Only allowed for SS members, while you have a Waffen SS uniform.
Also in the SS allgemeine uniform

Hmm...I tried it out...the graphics is like a cartoon or something on my notebook (C2duo T6400, 3GB RAM, HD 4650 1GB DDR3 - original HP drivers based on 8.5 Cata, Vista SP1)...

(fortunately i got the russian version and i've already finished MoT on my previous pc)

Othervise this Novy Sonch was one of my fav missions...I was trying to finish for long on hardest difficulty level for a perfect level end rating...

UPDATE: I had to disable the "Depth of Field" option, and the graphics is good now!

Boyarpunk 07-30-2009 11:37 PM

Pretty cool.

Hope to d/l it soon and give it a go!

Pizzadvl 07-31-2009 06:51 AM

This version is different then the Russian version if i remember right.
Also, what does Triple Buffering do? Does it Improve the Graphics?

Here is a silly question about the demo, where do you get the dynamite to place? There is none to start with for the loadout before mission screen.

So is there hidden dynamite in the game? I found the cache for the plans, but there is no dynamite and thus cannot complete the demo.

I must be missing something obvious...

The dynamite can be found in the storage, you should force a lock to open it.
The full walkthrough can be found here: http://translate.google.ru/translate...istory_state0=
The demo presents Mission 5.

A couple of oddities in the demo:
  • The cook has a gun! OMG!!!
  • Female Germans finally have voices, but the AI of the SS Helferinnen has been degraded to that of a civilian...
  • Three of the women in the public area have the model of one of the British civilians from the DtS mission "Hotel".

No, just a pistol, but it's still weird...

Personal Protection.

I think the demo was pretty good and you have multiple ways to beat the level. Try using the Doctor disguise is very entertaining. I saw a Review on Gamespot a very big gaming website and they are just complaining about how hard it is. They give it only a 6.5 out of 10.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/de...ot/review.html

I would like to give my review of the game, but it has not even been released yet in USA!

Great demo guys, this level was much better than any of the previous levels. There was a great sense of freedom as to what I could do and where I could go, I will be buying the game as soon as it comes out. Can't wait to review it!

Liz Shaw 08-01-2009 07:39 AM

I've modded the demo a little bit...

Some of the German voice files from DtS (the ones that AHO pointed out were very incorrect), have been replaced with those from the DtS Enhancement Addon. AHO would most likely do the same thing...

When there stands for example: No One allowed here except for Radio Operators, they dont say that :(

Also, it would be nicer if the SS has a Swastika on the side of the Helmet instead of the eagle, and it's realistic to have a swastika on it.
And they always draw their weapons when they say you are not allowed in here.

Jason 08-01-2009 04:09 PM

They need to censor swastikas for certain countries, it sucks

Xerxes712 08-02-2009 09:57 AM

Testing the demo using cheats, MOT new rating system, I only chloroformed one civilian to get his Chef Cook clothes. It increases agression rating. It is supossed to decrease it so it should stay at zero. I did not kill him. It was given 10%.

Is that a bug?

Liz Shaw 08-02-2009 10:55 AM

Here's what I did to complete the demo, without using cheats:

Easy: Chloroformed the doctor for his clothes, and chloroformed two radio operators for the cipher code.

Normal: Knocked out the kissing couple with glasses for the officer's clothes, and chloroformed two radio operators for the cipher code.

Hard: Chloroformed an SS soldier so he won't see me picking a locked door, knocked out the kissing couple with glasses for the officer's clothes, chloroformed the doctor for his clothes, and chloroformed two radio operators for the cipher code.

MoT has new features not seen in DtS, so the way to get an Aggression rating might have changed. On Easy difficulty I resorted to only using chloroform and still had a slight Aggression rating increase...

hykao 08-02-2009 12:21 PM

I think the MoT is easier on easy difficulty level than DtS, but much harder on the hardest...

Here is my level-end rating on the hardest difficulty level:

How do I get the code? I knocked 3 of them out and can't find it.

In a safe.

Once the radio operator receives the code, he heads over to the officer's meeting room. A cutscene will be triggered once he arrives, showing him delivering the code to the lecturer (SS officer uniform). All of the officers will then look at a nearby map for a few minutes (I don't really know how long).

During this time, you can enter the room next door from the meeting room. If you look at the painting more closely, the unique "eavesdrop on the conversation" action will appear. Strogov will automatically peer through the painting as if it were a door's keyhole. Listening to what the lecturer has to say during that time will automatically complete the objective, and you didn't have to get the code yourself.

However, it doesn't last long. After a while, all the officers will head over to the dining room, except for the lecturer, who goes to his quarters and puts the code in a safe (a cutscene will show him doing this if you're not in this room) before joining his students. Unlock the safe for the code! WARNING: You'll risk getting into trouble from the two SS soldiers in the corridor if you choose this method, since the door to the lecturer's quarters will be locked once he leaves the room.

Xerxes712 08-04-2009 05:36 AM

I did not know about the "eavesdrop" action through the painting. Good point.

One thing that happened to me, every time I got close to the radio room before the cipher is received, every time there is an auto trigger that causes him to receive the cipher, with the cutscene, before I can get into the radio room.

So how do you chloroform those two radiomen since they get triggered "to walk" as soon as you get close to their door?

ВОЛКОДАВ = wolfhound? Why not Iron Wolf? or The Bear? :) Is that the highest rating?

Yes. That is the highest rating (reduction name for large dogs who grew up and used for hunting on wolves). And it is really exist. It's the name (underground name) of the highest professional man in russian counter-intelligence..

Xerxes712 08-04-2009 08:53 AM

That is interesting to know. I see you beat on Saboteur level without having to kill or stun anyone? That is very good. I tried it, using smoke bombs to distract a few guards, but I had a hard time getting past the two guards by the pile of boxes the workers are moving into the armory warehouse.

But I will try again. :) I see by your in game picture that it can be done without killing or stunning anyone at the Saboteur level. I did notice if I poison any food or water, the people who drink it and die do not count against me.

I do miss the total point score system of the old DTS. It gave more feedback.

hykao 08-04-2009 02:57 PM

I did not poison anyone. :)

By the way: Like the "Volkodav", "The Moment of Truth" has also a counter-intelligence meaning...

Robin_G 08-04-2009 05:21 PM

Great demo, but I have a doubt. The manual says: "In Hard difficulty enemies suspect the player when he is running". But I'm pretty sure that's not true.

Yes, it's true! It happened in DtS on Hard difficulty, so it's obvious the same happens in MoT...

Looks good on the paper, but it was truly challenging at some parts (so the final satisfaction is huge)

Demo felt great, so I'll probably buy fullV soon.

Jason 02-10-2010 10:28 AM

wow, good job man , definitely get the full version the game is great! has a lot of fun levels
