You know they say a picture is worth a 1000 words but, these pics don't say much. I believe the website will fill in the blank.

xNikex 04-08-2009 10:42 PM

Wow, very beautiful pictures.

Good find!

Bet Anton was just waiting for us to say something.:)

BTW: Picture 14 looks very familiar...

Fantastic snow covered environments. Such a pity the PS3 is holding back the 360 release. Us Xboxers could be enjoying this game right now!

To be honest, i can't think of a better looking 360 game out there? Anyone?

Pity? They probably did the 360 first because they new the ps3 could handle everything. They probably still haven't gotten finished for the psp either. Isn't this game going to gameboy too/.

trk29 04-09-2009 12:29 AM

That freaking cockpit is beautiful.

GabeFan 04-09-2009 12:49 AM

WOW!!!! Those screens are beautiful!!!! I just made the P-51 my computer wallpaper.

I noticed that the FW-190 had a Swastika on the tail, BUT the ME-109 didn't. Hopefully all the German planes will be historically accurate and have the Swastika on the tail fin. Maybe Anton could answer this for us....

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they said Xbox360 will have the best quality.

It's fairly well known that the PS3 is more difficult to develop games for. GTAIV was delayed significantly for the 360 while they were completing the PS3 development. So was Assassins Creed.

I'm not suggesting the PS3 isn't a great system. Of course it is. It's just more difficult to develop for.

That's why all the videos and screenshots we are seeing come from the 360 version.

Scottyb825 04-09-2009 02:16 AM

Let's not turn this into a console war. We should just be thankful both 360 and PS3 are getting this awesome game.

Also not all the German aircraft had the swastika on the tail fin.

xNikex 04-09-2009 02:28 AM

I figured out where I saw the 14th screenshot...

The postcard Anton gave us on New Years. (Not the same, but VERY similar. Its same plane, above same map, right around the same spot above the river.)

More screens are coming.

It is against law to have swastika in game in France and German.
That's why we had to remove all swastikas and replace them.
A pity, but it is law.

No, that's not true.
We are going to have them very close to each other - can't tell exactly differences now, if they'd be.

Does that mean they have been removed from all the worldwide releases?

Unfortunately so.
We have EFIGS (european) and US releases. And US is very close to EFIGS - just a bit changed, so, it's hard to maintain differences for only that reason.

Oh well, so be it. It won't effect the game play and i can understand that many older people would still find that particular symbol unbearable to view (not that they will be playing video games!!!)

Interesting that it can appear in Films like Valkyrie etc though.....

Once again though, great screenshots. The attention to detail is fantastic.

jt_medina 04-09-2009 02:09 PM

Are those screens in game?. Because if they really are I can only say WOW!!. The most impressive for me were those two. Unbelievably realistic and beautiful.
Good work!. I only expect to see high level of realism on flight model and cockpits.

I was only stating what I read about it from game sites, but you're head of Gaijin so YES I'll take your word for it.:)

The amount of in-game detail on the aircraft and landscape is just unbelievable!! Awesome work guys!!! I love how the airplanes look like they are operational planes with all the paint wear & weathering. The realism is amazing!

This is going to be the best game EVER...

These are the best screen shots I've ever seen. #11 was my favorite.:)

And yes I love the wear and tear on the planes like they've all seen intense action.

Can't wait to see some more exciting ones AND videos on the website.

Good Luck!

I am also at the edge of my seat, I used to play IL-2 and all the expansions religiously. Those games blew MS combat flight sim out of the water. I remember dreaming about how nice it would be to play IL-2 on a console and finally get rid of all the computer issues. Great job guys and I will keep telling everyone about this game.
