Magic Recipe?
 

First of all I want to say hallo to all the guys (and girls) on the forum.

Since this is my first post, it's only natural to ask a question :) ... so here goes:

in the graveyard on the first continent i found an item (document to be precise) called "Magic Recipe". Does anyone know what it's for and how to use it? Thanks...

Take it to the magic academy in Arlania, he gives you the option of creating armor in exchange for some money and the recipe.

It doesn't work for me... I have like 50,000 gold and enough runes, but the only available answer is: I don't have enough money.

The item is supposed to be a silver rapier... am I missing much by not being able to get it?

I forget where exactly I found the recipe, but I'm pretty sure it was in the Isles of Freedom. I also don't know if the produced item changes from game to game, but I got a scaly Armor (+3 defense). This item was already for sale somewhere else in the Isles, and I had another artifact equipped that was more useful; also, I had to pay gold which was no problem, but I also had to give a couple of runes, which I did reluctantly. So my advice is save your game right before you hand in the recipe to the wizard in the Magic Academy, so that you can easily load if the artifact is not useful for you.

What does that do again? Must be something worthwhile for you to be pursuing it with such zeal.

its not buged you just need 10 mind runes not 5

Silver Rapier gives you 30% Attack bonus against undeads. IMO it's shitty item not worth it's price. I payed 5 mind runes (guy in this tower told he needs only 2 but I unsaved, checked my runes and bought item and he took 5)

I found a recipe in both my games, both times inside a tombstone in the swamp graveyard (not sure it was the same tombstone). First time it was the recipe for Scaly Armor (+3 def), second time for Silver Rapier (+30% atk vs undead)... i would never spend a single rune for such items ^_^

exacly, there's plenty of better items in game than those two.

You are correct... somewhat. They tell you you need mind runes but actually you need magic runes as well >_<

So I tried it, and reloaded. Worthless imo.

Well I got the scaly armor recipe, and I paid 1000 gold and 2 might runes for it. I'd say it was pretty much worth it since I have no idea what to do with might runes anyway, and I have a heavy supply of them. I guess the cost is random as well.

first give it to the magic academy for a reward... then turn down their offer to make the armor for you, because it certainly is NOT worth the runes.

I mostly have no armor at the time I have the recipe ... and the armor +3 DEF is handy... so for me it is totally usefull...

I much less value the rapier +30% agains undead...

(I forgot what is the third scroll you can find... but I totally like the armor)

The last one is Wind Wings according to the Fan Manual.

You will always find this item outside the shop where you receive the quest to retrieve 3 Red Dragon Eggs in the Lands of Death.
