are you sure that it's out? |
The patch for Steam were released on the 31st of December 2012 - and from what has been said on the DMS site, the patch for retail games usually appear a few weeks later.

Yes that 2.5.15 patch is out on steam, dms promised patch to be released for non steam soon... If I have time today I will try to see if its possible to make a manual non official patch for people until then.

Thats why I wrote my manual non official patch is for regular version only, you will have to wait for 1c to release official patches sometime this week my guess is.

Did you use the correct update/patch? There are two different, one for the GOTY version, and one for the "normal" version.

i did and i tried both
my version when istalled from disk is 1.81.1 standard or retail or whatever but it doesnt really matter i guess couse the update is failsafe as i try to install the goty update it sas theres no previus version of mowas installed the standard patch just installed fine previously it worked with the standard patches (and also i noticed it has some steam related files in the install folder but i cant activate is through steam...) |

thats what i did
and i think its impossible to do it elseway caouse the 2.05.15 patch is a "small" patch and has a dependency of 2.05.14 which has a dependency of 2.05.13 and thats the latest patch which has a "full" version so basicly what i did: 1.81.1 to 2.05.13 full 2.05.13 to 2.05.14 <- just fine till this patch 2.05.14 to 2.05.15 am i wrong? (patches i used all dld from http://www.1cfiles.com/MoWAS_patch/) |

in some rare cases it lists a whole bunch of other packs i guess its beacause the server uses modded content
when my friend w/ 2.05.15 steam wants to join me he gets the same (errormsg_1.png) message |
I never had to deal with retail patching of mowas as I always used the game on steam but there are few suggestions:
1. FIRST make sure your original version has no extra files anywhere under root folder where binary is or under resource folder. If you not sure delete entire folder after you uninstall the game. Make sure nothing is left over. Then reinstall the game. 2. Once you have the game installed as original version, grab http://www.1cfiles.com/MoWAS_patch/m...05.13-full.zip assuming your game is not GOTY there are other files for GOTY. Install this patch. 3. Next get http://www.1cfiles.com/MoWAS_patch/m...-small.exe.zip and install. 4. Finally get http://www.1cfiles.com/MoWAS_patch/m...-small.exe.zip and install. If you still have issues then its possible 1c made mistake doing the patches, but please make sure you have either regular retail version of mowas or goty and not some other type of special version or custom store download version(I heard about some weird versions). Another trick is to use steam and register cd key with steam BUT keep your original install of the game in another place that you installed non steam version. Once steam patches new installation(under steam folders usually) and you know that is all patched properly you can copy over all the files except for the exe I believe as that would have steam drm I think, so the key is here whether you can get new exe for retail off the 1c patches. However, this way you could test whether the steam install would work fine, then compare all the files steam installed vs the ones patched with retail patch on retail install and find out the problem. gl. |

Yes there are few versions that will have problems with patches, however does it have seperate gamespy cd key just for men of war assault squad? If so that will usually work with registering game on steam. It doesnt matter if that specific edittion is available on steam or not. If you do have gamespy cd key thats seperate just for men of war assault squad from that edittion you can try registering it on steam through gamges>activate product on steam.
(nevermind I forgot you said you tried activating it on steam) Anyways from you last post you said you got it to work? Oh and if you do use steam for other games there are some insane sales sometimes you can always try buying mowas copy during some insane sales sometimes and simply have easy way to have game patched fast. |
