Clod fixing

Hi Guys,

Now that there is not going to be any support from 1C, are their any people out there currently working on Mods/fixes for Clod?

At one point in time there were people using Kegetys to mod cliffs.

Buffin 12-27-2012 08:45 AM

CoD

That would be very nice if some people create new maps, planes and other things, of course, for money, for nothing today for one will not do anything. Too bad that the current team 1C + 777 left CoD and starts again from new, could continue to CoD and how it has ROF for new aircraft and maps would be paid, after all it is difficult to create something new graphics and such, but it is much pity that finished the CoD. Sorry for my English I use a translator maybe you will understand what I mean.

Afaik the ATAG-Group coordinates things... so you might have a look at their forums...

OP

Yes

Check ATAG Forums :)

How about better splash screens, where one changes attributes, and loading screens, similar to what Deastersoft uses? They are very nicely done, and the stock are a bit sad in my opinion.

Its hard to believe that a couple of programmers form ATAG will solve major problems that a full team of professionals with all the tools and all the access could not solve after working N years full time.

Time will tell and fingers crossed :)

furbs 12-30-2012 07:14 PM

I think they can tinker with some things, what worries me is if they can, so can anyone and if there is no cheat protection, what stops anyone changing the FM's of their own aircraft?

You don't think we've already thought about and solved this? ;)

furbs 12-30-2012 09:09 PM

Good news, it was a worry.

Is that still the BOB map?
Is anyone looking at the FSAA issue?

Major problems of CLOD (no particular order): draw distance/pop up, AI, FM (including landing physics), lack of proper (not SMAA) AntiAliasing.

I just cant imagine these being solved - as much as I'd love to be proven wrong.

Concerning AI pop up, I tried to show in my video how the pilots seat position can affect that.

No not a joke Borsch :)...Airplane dot first becomes visible at about 9km stays constant, and if the pilot is seated square to the sight, the dot does not drop out of view or fade while zoomed. At about 5.65km the identification becomes visible for reading, if you fly with that difficulty setting...if you loose the dot you may be further then 9km separation, and indicates a pilot flying faster than you. If you loose the dot in the terrain then you have to decide if you want to lower your altitude (probably not worth the risk) Look for a closer target

SlipBall 01-04-2013 02:17 PM

OK I just tried the final vershion and I see that dots is all mucked up. Patch introduced bug like so many other things, the modders will sort it out!
I have a video up that shows at 9km...just another reason why I fly the early game

I think its great now... I played it when it first came out and i still remember how terrible it was. Now i find its very stable and i really enjoy playing it.

So far there are only 2 things that i don't like: The bomber gunners that are actually snipers that will chew your 300mph Spitfire on the first pass *sigh* and the stock RAF campaign.

I still think there is room for improvement, though. But as it is, its still very enjoyable.

HeinKill and friends have built a very good RAF campaign. See

Glad that you enjoy the game...you can adjust AI if you like with the sliders

Borsch 01-05-2013 01:32 PM

By texture pop up I meant this (which makes navigating by landmarks unimersive and bombing/ground pounding hard for wrong reasons).
This is one of the major problems with CloD.
Objects pop up, turn to boxes, change colours, grow roofs, shimmer and flicker- every single second.

You have to keep in mind that all happened because of the patching...I fly the earlier vs before the destruction, lack of AI commands being my only complaint, but luckily they do follow me and copy my action.:)

David198502 01-05-2013 03:06 PM

hey slipball,.....how exactly do you get the early version to run???i tried it a couple of weeks ago, but lovely steam patched it immediately.....step by step instruction would be greatly appreciated!

SlipBall 01-05-2013 09:31 PM

Do you have a saved early backup copy

JG26_EZ 01-06-2013 01:19 AM

Steam has an "auto-update" tick that needs to be un-ticked afaik.

Is there no problem with pop up in earlier versions?

yes get the REDUX campaign to replace the stock RAF campaign. you dont need else. i have played through 3 times now (successfully - I must have played ten times but I play dead is dead so always I dont get through the campaign) each to see my best score - 21 kills is my best.
