Yes, the COD is no longer associated with this forums.

It is sad for everyone, but it is a fact.

No reason to get yourself banned from this forums for smut talk about things, nothing will change here... regardless of what you say.

The new forum http://forum.il2sturmovik.net/ as pointed out by Blacksix is the place to go for your expressions of joy, remorse or otherwise. Maybe your anxieties can be dealt with more constructively there.

You are of course welcome to hang around here as long as you like, and yes the forum rules will continue to be enforced. COD discussions may continue here for sometime and everyone is welcome to stay and share.

Regardless, it has been fun and we have all enjoyed each other for the most part.

That forum is not a CoD forum. Itis not a RoF forum. It is the IL2 Battle of Stalingrad forum. While that sim is a joint venture between 1C and 777 it is not connected with either. It is it's own product. I repeat..

Well I don't think UBI did anything, apparently Luthier wouldn't even give them the release candidate, plus Luthier then blamed them for the epilepsy filter which he later withdrew from.

Yeah, UBI had nothing to do with the making of the game, pretty strange statement. It was and always will be 1C's fault.

This forum was created for Il-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover customers and will be associated with Cliffs of Dover for as long as it's open. Just because a new company runs the show on the other forum, it has nothing to do with this one.

I was merely telling people to go there, if they really want to discuss further developments COD, even though it will be called something else. If COD is a factor in the futher development with BlackSix and other persons from COD going over to the 777 team I would think COD does have some basis going forward.

Since 777 is now the migratory path for COD it makes sense they would be interested to have the discussions on their own forums.

It is always understood people are expected to behave wherever they go.

Regardless, I'll leave off any further linking to the site. It was just a kindness I thought would help promote the site. Sorry, it didn't come off as helpful.

With respect, from an unbiased sim flyer, I think some confusion in this thread stemmed from this part of the OP:

COD, while any further development has certainly come to an end, still certainly exists. I still have it on my hard drive and play it. Heck, the final patch just came out couple months ago, that made it better for many out there. It would seem to me, this certainly is the forum for discussions of COD, as it exists now.

BOS, is the new sim on the horizon, resulting from the merging of 777 ( Rise of Flight) and 1C teams ( COD). it is not a further development of COD, and not a further developement of ROF, altogether a new sim. It would seem to me, the discussions regarding BOS would best be held on the new IL2 Sturmovik forum.

It doesn't seem like much of a kindness - more like trying to push the problems this forums has onto another.

Either way, BoS has very little to do with CloD and there is nothing over there that they can answer or do that relates to CloD.

We don't know that yet. It is not even in alpha stage .Until then many members will say that they want BoS to be the same or better as CloD, in some parts. You can't silence everyone.

Why can´t we discuss COD here, in 1C´s forums? Are they giving the game for free?

And why is a moderator from another forum, giving orders in this forum? Is the censorship in that forum so strong?

Many times I wandered (and posted) why were they allowing the promotion of a competing product (like ROF) in this forum. Now it makes a lot of sense.

And what with those kids and their triumphant attitude? Are they really happy that we are losing the most important developer of combat flght sims? And are they happy that we are watching the end of the most important series of combat flight simulation? Beacause maybe Bos will be great (i hope) but it won´t be part of the IL2 series, even if it uses that brand.

Actually for what it's worth Mr. Man of Thousand All Seeing Crystal Balls I only locked one maybe two threads on that forum since I became a mod there.. which was just yesterday.. almost 24 hours at that come 2100 or so. What... you think I'm the only one there who is sick of the BS that some of you guys are bringing from both camps? Please. I'm sure nearmiss is sick of it too he probably is just in a state of @sshat overload so things slip through.
ALSO .. since you are so in the loop and all .. Jason wanted me to squelch any conversation of RoF or CoD since the folks posting in those threads have such a hard time acting like adults but I persuaded him that we'd have to have some references to both sims and others and since BoS will be built using a modified version of the RoF engine and since so many folks who are so in the know... seem ti think that engine is not capable of producing a quality product, that perhaps it would not be a bad idea to allow some examples of what the engine is capable of in it's current state. The only reason the same courtesy ios not extended to CoD is because no part of that engine is gong to be used in BoS. That engine is a non issue so discussing the virtues of it compared to the DN engine ... in a venue where folks cannot seem to accomplish that without slippng into foolishness is asking for trouble. Just to enlighten you a bit .. I know you already have all the answers an all but..
The bottom line is you can stir up stuff over here till your heart's content or the mods get sick of it .. You do it over there and you're gone for a while .. if you don't like that and you decide you don't want to be there anyway well.. that's fine too.

I was under the impression that YOU were under the impression that the team that is putting BoS together is the same team following up on CoD since Luthier left. That is not the case. They have nothing to do with CoD or RoF aside from the fact that the same publisher is running it and it is using a modified version of the same DN engine that RoF does. RoF is it's own entity with it's own forum and it's own website. You would understand my response a little more had you been privy to the last 24 hours of posts on the BoS boards.

Once again the brilliant all seeing carguy has spoken.. That is not what the issue is on those boards. The issue comes up when instead of requests or suggestions for features we get demands .. and people trying to tell the devs what engine is better and which one they should use etc etc etc.. When the mere mention of one sim or the other sparks a mine is bigger than yours snotfest of epic propotions.. it has happend over and Over and OVER.. and again... just to riterate for those who may have been in the bathroom or texting when I said it last.. The only reason I allow a bit more examples of what the RoF engine is about is because THAT is the engine in a modifed form that .. according to what the devs have said.. MULTIPLE TIMES IN MULTIPLE PLACES that they are using.. The are NOT using the CoD engine and the only thing that may come from CoD are models.. but I am not 100% sure on that. Now who knows.. maybe the took what they could from the CoD engine and already tweaked the DN engine and even as we speak are busy little bees working on BoS .. again I don't know.. but what I do know is that there will be no pi$$ing contests about whose sim is better.. There will be no griping and groaning about how Luthier did this or 1C failed at that over there.. NONE. If you want to talk about the features of CoD that is fine..
