New interface mod for all 3 part of game
 
Greetings, players! Sorry for my poor english.
I discovered this game 2011, played both 2 campaign twice; i really like.
But game interface is catastrophic, and not found satisfying interface mod. Camera and bigfont mod simple option, i can make better myself, over a few minutes. Hint-mod is very great, but not enough.

Now published a new campaign with new features, and my claim for better interface mod is increased; so i decided to do it myself.

I wrote a program that can read from "ui" files, and show me the interface elements visually with their names. In this way, I was able to edit this files simply, and edit interface-textures with my favorite drawing program.

As well as, some of the game-sounds very disproportionately volume, particularly most of spellsounds. So i started my favorite audio-editor, and i reduced the volume of this sounds.

Merged together this modifications, and placed inside the old interface-hint mod. I adjusted all these, working with previous chapters of the game.

Ok, now i changed that page, now immediately appear in all browsers.

CHANGES:

KBGUI MOD

Hero page
-Rearranged, cause opened backpack
dont cover the army

Main window
-Show crystals quantity
-Show fully mana and rage (min/max)
-Show fully gold (not only in thousands)
-Show current time always (not only as hint)

Battlefields
-Combat log align to left
-Buttons alignt to right and grouped

Dialogs
-Width increased twice

Unit-window
-Size increased twice

New game
-Size increased (better fit class-description)

Companion(s) window
-Magnified (fully fit descriptions with large fonts)

Quest journal
-Double width, tasks appear total height

High score
-Size of calculation formula increased, fits with large fonts

Global
-Font size significantly increased
-Camera range increased triple and more rotatable
(Both my own option, not the old bigfont and camera mod)

KBSOLIDSOUNDS MOD

-All spell volume decreased with 5 decibels
-Footman swish decreased with 5 decibels
-Soothsayer swish decreased with 10 decibels (only third part of KB saga)

And here is files.
I was forced to break up, and some changes; cause this modifications contains some 1-2 mb png texture-files, in one zip or 7z, size around 15 mb, and here is 14,3 mb limit.
But "solidsounds" good for all 3 part without changes, so i can uploading here with minor changes.

Great mod ,this needs to bump once for me.


If i realize true ,i download MODPACK NORTH.ZIP and KBSOLIDSOUNDS.ZIP for KB:WotN .

Then i need to put them like :



hintmod.kfs ->...King`s Bounty - Warriors of the North\sessions\addon(\mods)

kbgui.kfs ->...King`s Bounty - Warriors of the North\sessions\addon(\mods)

kbgui folder ->...King`s Bounty - Warriors of the North\data

kbsolidsounds folder ->...King`s Bounty - Warriors of the North\data


and kbsolidsounds folder can't be installed standlone ,right ?

Just unzip anywhere, and copy "data" and "sessions" to game folder, where are original folders with same name.
No need "mods" folder!!!
Kbgui, kbsolidsounds and hintmod works standalone.

My opinion, some interface elements position or/and size could be better, probably i will adjust them. And maybe add some more features. If you have any suggestions, ideas, criticism, tell me.

Hintmod is not my own product, just included to pack! Author is unknown for me, i found as "interface mod", with russian readme, without name.

If anybody know some documentation from game mechanism (lua); events, variables, parameters; pls tell me. Programming in my line, but this game damned strange and illogical for me. If i have a good documentation, maybe can i do better, major mod.

I would be more inclined to use this interface mod if you optionally provided the new talent tree upgrades up to level 5 - this is a game changing option and should be optional

oh and btw - the supplied hintmod.kfs suffers from this bug

Well,i get it .I just have the habit to gather all mods in the separate

folder ,and the path also works .

Furthermore, will kbsolidsounds work even if i don't install another two

parts(kbugi ,hintmod) you mentioned ?

Hintmod is abuse with level 5 skills for warriors of the north, i agree, i will purge from north pack. Who dont like, "remove the hintmod.kfs" from sessions/addon folder.

My opinion, voice of ice dranon's minions is a catastrophe. A monkey-house+parrot cage in a zoo, with a classic lion's roar on background. What a fck! Icicle in a meat-grinder better effect for ice dragonlings! I only decreased volume of extremely noisy, but othervise great effects in kbsolidsounds. But i would like to totally replace this dragonling sound for something or anything else...
