The endgame is incredible!

The final battles were amazing. Really nice to end on a such a high note of variety and challenging all outs.

Gotta suck if you're going for a no loss run though :P

Really? I can't wait then. I am merely lvl 20.. taking my time through the game. In what sense they're amazing? They hard?

They're very interesting and different from everything else in the game. And they force you to adept to new playstyles you don't usually use.

billythegreat 11-10-2012 07:21 PM

Why do I smell that you will be forced to play with different armies? I mean why do you have to get allies? To play with them I suppose.

Mandea 11-11-2012 04:57 AM

no, you're not forced. and no, the end-game isn't much because the game is way too easy in the last part. even the final battles are a joke.

This.

Then again, one can always play on Impossible.

Mandea 11-11-2012 08:05 AM

well, I didn't try for a no-loss, so even on impossible the end-game was way too easy. on the other hand I can play without artefacts and then it will really be a challenge :)

How are you not forced to play with different armies? I just started the final battles and I am forced to fight with crappy races and heroes that have only a few spells in their spellbooks.

Mandea 11-12-2012 06:15 AM

I wasn't talking abouts the final fight. End-game is much more than those 3-4 fights.
but until those final fights no one forced you to play a specific race.

billythegreat 11-12-2012 06:22 AM

Really? I thought that this thread and the OP is about the final battles.

Mandea 11-12-2012 06:37 AM

well, I thought otherwise since the title states: the endgame is incredible.
in diablo games end-game is not about the final battle nor is it here in my opinion.

blacklegionary 11-12-2012 08:30 AM

The end game boss is there to end any no-loss attempts, nothing else.

Thanks god this crap is viable on torrents, because devs are deserving F'U'C'K, but not the money they are asking for.

I am sorry that your experience wasn't as good as the rest of ours. The game has a few issues but most of all are stuff that will be fixed in a few months of removing bugs.

Not only that, in my elf army and something else, can’t remember from top of my head, I had no rez spell nor anybody with ability to revive, so no loss there is right out off the window

I really enjoyed the final battles. It felt really liberating and let me sample things I wouldn't normally have had a chance to use/try.

Now, do I replay the Viking? Or go Soothsayer... HMMMM.

Nirual 11-17-2012 07:52 AM

I felt the ally battles were kinda annoying because they have such a limited variety of spells. And some army compositions were kinda nonsensical (Foreman without Miners? Why not Dwarf?).

But I like the fact that they tried something new there, something that the other games never had (there was like one battle in Legend where you had to fight using a different army, but that was about it).

However, I wish it wasnt as buggy. Especially not with the spellbook wipe bug.
Also, a bit more choice would've been nice. Seeing the achievement about beating Eric with the fewest allies made me think there was more to it than just chosing wether or not to bring the demons along.

I was already patched (but didn't start over) and didn't run into the spellbook wipe bug at all. However, I seemed to have like 216 mana permanently as Viking (wtf?).

I don't know what they mean by fewest allies possible, does this mean you can fight all of them with your army? Hm. What annoys me is I beat the game on Impossible mode, didn't use cheats, and I didn't unlock the last achievement? (I guess I didn't wait for the final credits to finish?)

Back to the other races, I forgot giants reload was only 1, and I did have the Ogre Set which got me thinking hmmm. By the way, did you notice how they were super generous in items? I really hope I can get the Ogre Set as a Soothsayer/Mage this second time around.

Also, Archdemons now have an AoE attack with 4 reload. Too bad my last game only had 4 of them and I wasn't going to waste time sacrificing them back up.

thats one of the bugs with those, yes. You get 200 mana as you fight as the allies, and it doesn't go back to what you had before.

No, fewest allies means elves, dwarves and vikings. Only the demons are optional, and if you don't have them the spellbook wipe bug occurs when you have to fight the last guy before Eric yourself.

Considering that achievement is one of many with a 0% global rate on Steam, there is a good chance that its bugged aswell.

You don't have to fight the last guy before Eric yourself. You have 5 allied armies beside you.Dwarfs , elves, vikings, demons and human army led by Iron Richard( you get him from Selmy Boros hut).
