3rd Battle of Britian Multisquadron Campaign
Underconstruction:
Storm of War Campaigns:Battle of Britian 2 (Historical Multiquadron Campaign) 8pm European time (Daylight savings Time ends on 28th October 2012 the clock will go back 1 hour.) Quote:
9 Missions - 1 per week repeated sunday. 1 life/aircraft per mission, no reflies 20 mins after battle start! Server will be up 15 mins beofre for connecting. Overview: In the research we conducted trying to find red/blue attack/defend missions for our campaign we quickly realised that RAF Bomber Command played only a miniscule role in the whole battle. When RAF bomber Command did venture out it was often unescorted in daylight raids - which often proved deadly! So after much digging and deliberation we decided Blue would attack soley. The missions selected are all based on historic actions in the Battle of Britain. To avoid people simply looking up the next mission and taking away the element of suprise, no dates will be used and they may or may not be in chronological order! So keep an open mind and your eyes peeled! We are trying our best to create immersion and give the whole campaign a distinct BoB taste. For example we want to simulate the sense of urgency and desperation on the red side. We want the blue side to feel over streched and far from home - eyes on fuel guages! Realism Settings: FULL REALISM AntropomorphicControl 0 ComplexEManagement 1 TorqueGyroEffects 1 EngineTemperatureEffects 1 FlutterEffects 1 WindTurbulence 1 StallSpins 1 Vulnerabilty 1 BlackoutsRedouts 1 Realisticgunnery 1 RealisticBombing 1 LimitedAmmo 1 LimitedFuel 1 CockpitAlwaysOn 1 NoOutsideViews 1 HeadShake 1 NoIcons 1 NoPadlock 1 Clouds 1 TakeoffLanding 1 RealisticLandings 1 NoMapIcons 1 NoMinimapPath 1 NoAutopilot 1 NoReplacementPlace 0 NoReplacement 0 NoSelect 0 NoReplacementArmy 0 NoSelectArmy 0 NoCreate 0 Player Limit 99: Things sorted themselves out last time so it should this time, at least thats the theory... Some new missions being added: Between 1 and 3 missions will be added to the campaign and are being finalised now. 1 Life per Mission: You may only have 1 life and 1 aircraft per sortie. So please practice your taxi-ing and take offs and be aware that sometimes your Squadron wont be the only Squadron on that airfield! Sometimes you will spawn in a hanger. If you have not taken off and do die respawn but please dont make a habbit of it. Aircraft and Limits: Only those aircraft below are limited, all other aircraft are unlimited. Sorry no Italian aircraft in our campaign. Mission 1 - July Missions 2-6 - August Mission 7 - September Each squadron will be assigned so many of each fighter type depending on what each side agrees with its self. As a general rule therefore consider red mostly flying Hurricanes and blues flying E1's untill August/September where they will mostly be flying E4's. Objectives: Red teams sole aim is to stop the bombers and lose as few aircraft and pilots as possible! Blue teams aim is to destroy RAF fighter Command and to lose as few Aircraft and pilots as possible! The BoB campaign is planned to be run as follows: Red side will organise themselves based on in game radar reports and briefings, under the direction of one of several Squadron leaders who will operate flights. Blue side will have an organised brief and will generally be escorting bombers and conducting Frei-Jagd fighter sweeps to gain Air superiority. It is upto Squadrons/Staffeln to coordinate between themselves and improve upon the effectiveness of their forces to gain victory through tactics and teamwork. The campaign will have Statistics recorded. From these stats will be determined which side (if any) won the mission. Victory Conditions will loosely be decided by how many Bombers the reds managed to shoot down and how many fighters were lost trying to do this both in the air and on the ground. Statistics and scoring: A seperate database will be created for each mission so you can see the performance of yourself, your squadron and your team. It will look something like this: http://70.176.212.41:8888/ClodStats/index.php |

Dont forget guys this starts this weekend. It seems we may have more than 3 new missions to add! Therefore we will be running a different mission sat and sun everyweek! Briefings will be laid out anytime between wednesday 31st oct and saturday... We will have all new nice maps for your eyes to enjoy this time around! Added missing coastal features such as harbours and airfield buildings! - Thanks Salmo for your wonderful pack! Dont forget there is a new community team speak 3 for Storm of War server for both public play and campaign events! We are also rolling out more public missions which are completely different from the campaign ones. So why not drop in and say hi and fly a few sorties! If you want your own channel just ask an admin! We are really hard at work with many people taking time from their busy lives! More details to come soon but now we need to work so its all ready on time! Hope to see everyone again in the campaign and hopefully some new squadrons too! |
Sounds great, Farber. Can't wait!
|
Looks absolutly stunning. Well done guys.
If no Italian planes we will fly reds I guess. Will chat to the chaps:) Are pings an issue, I have a rock steady 250 to 270 ping to Europe ;) |
This is going to be some Campaign, looking forward to it............thanks to all those who are working on this, great job chaps.
|
The server is based in the USA but it was never a problem last time. Indeed ATAG is also USA placed and people don't seem too worried there either.
Really looking forward to this, Air Combat Group have 4 squadrons going in, 2 RAF and 2 Luftwaffe, plus an additional few chaps on Bf110's I hope. ACG will be providing a Teamspeak 3 server for comms at 85.236.100.27:24637 (it has plenty of slots). We would like participants to enjoy Storm Of War from these comms as we have details to organise and this makes life much easier, especially when it comes to using whisper for co-ordination of multiple groups. If you are definitely attending just specify here and we'll create a squadron room for your crew. With the changes to the game since last time and what we have learned too it should be an all round improvement and cracking fight. |

Done. We have a 75 slot setup now.
|
Farber, this seems fantastic! Teamwork and historical missions really are imporant components of immersion. I'm afraid my better half has planned some other activities for this weekend, but I'll try to get there...
|
thats ok Hans, different mission sat and sunday for about 10 weeks... :-P
|
I'm interested in playing this with one of the LW squadrons..
|
...
What about loners who dont fly in a squadron
Ross |
Sign up on the forum and advertise yourself! See if a squad will let you tag along, or band together with other loners and make a temporary squad!
|
...
meh! sounds like alot of work :)
the european time is based on the UK's current time right? Ross |
I hope that was sarcasm....
|
After some research ... Er yea it was... 'roll eyes face'...

Ill try and join in again tonight! Probably around 1930! Not sure about next week yet! Cheers Ross |
Help!
Guys,
I'm short of information for tonight. I understand we use the Multiplayer connection but there's no password or airfield distribution for Squads. I've dug around the SOWC forums but can't find anything. I did see one post saying there weren't enough aircraft at one field (JTDawg?). Are we using any particular TS? My guys are asking what we're supposed to be doing and I just don't know. It would be better to know in advance than work it out in the few minutes before we start. Does anyone have a handle on this? Can you post in SOWC Red HQ please? I did post here::- http://sowc.forumotion.co.uk/t149-information-needed Is this still the Roll up of players?:- http://sowc.forumotion.co.uk/t133-is...on-taking-part (why is this buried away in the General forum and not the Dunkirk forum?) 501: 6-8 Hurricanes 56: 6-8 Spitfires 401: 3-4 Hurricanes 71st: 5-6 Spitfires, 5-6 Hurricanes AKA: 2-4 Spitfires ================ RAF 22 - 30 pilots ================ ================ LW: 32-48 pilots ================ |
comms here: 85.236.100.27:24637 (we have 75 slots, so that should be enough), if you want your own channel(s), just let one of us know and we´ll set them up for you.
Password will be handed out before mission start, and so will be airfield distribution, as that is something S/Ls will have to make out. BTW: you forgot the most important spitfire squadron there is, No.64, which already had 6+1 Pilots yesterday (S! to vranac) :D |
Quote:
Sorry about 64 :) I got hold of Osprey so I have more info now. |
Epic campaign from yesterday, that's 2 brilliant missions from Saturday and then Sunday.
And it's nice to fly different parts of the map other than that low fight just off Folkstone. If anybody not in a squadron wants to get involved then you can just fly along with another squadron, ACG are looking for RAF and Luftwaffe pilots all of the time, just post here, PM or post/checkout www.aircombatgroup.co.uk The server will revert back to normal public missions in between campaign events. Roll on next weekend :D |
Didnt i see a message saying you had landed not long after the battle started ;)
|
My flight report Ross
http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/foru...php?f=42&t=244 Hope you've enjoyed flying with 6./JG26, would you like to sign up? :) |
You may need to screen shot it! need a user on the website!
Yea was good flying with the 6.JG26..... but enjoy being flexible! Need to learn how to fly the spit and hurri better mind!... |
Well we'd love to have you mate, we are looking for pilots
|
I forgot to mention, if you want to fly different types we don't restrict pilots to a single type in general play, you can fly what you like, it's just in campaign/events we do.
|
Might have to increase server to 128 slots, we had 90 players last sunday :-P
Who would have thought the spilt of red/blue would have been so even with so little work?! |
.... Yea was good sunday! Shame about saturday... All blues in the air and the reds still in there hangers? Lol
Blitz! Ross |
I'll be there next sat :)

It's all on tonight, more fighting over the Channel as the RAF take on the Luftwaffe. Please get into our comms early
85.236.100.27:24637 |
For those taking part, please make sure everyone in your squadron has read and understood the rules:
Apologise for all friendly fire and collision incidents clearly by voice or in-game text. Shoulder shooting is forbidden. Shooting parachutists is forbidden. Team kills are forbidden. Strafing/bombing grounded aircraft is allowed All Targets maybe engaged. Including aircraft landing or taking off. Hacking, glitching and cheating will result in a ban. Essentially we would like to run "coop" stlye missions in our campaigns very much like in old IL2 1946 fb - one aircraft, one life and no refly. However this mode is not available to us at this time. Also spawns sometimes kill pilots who dont put their brakes on, some idiot crashes into you whilst taxiing, etc etc. - in this case then just refly! However once you are wheels up, if your game crashes, your engine blows up, you get shot down or for any reason you cannot continue to fly - then your flight is over; NO REFLY! We are using an "honour" system and players are expected to enforce this on themselves - if not bans will be used, possibly on the whole squadron if needed. In game markings must be used! Be warned if you do not follow the rules your whole squadron may be removed. |
Another epic battle, large squadron sized scraps over the channel at altitude, historically balance planesets (2/3rds Hurricane and historical mix of 109 types) in historical battles. Plenty of RAF and Luftwaffe diving away to escape once they'd been pinged with live rounds :D
If you want to be involved then ACG are recruiting pilots for the RAF and Luftwaffe. Just drop in and say hello. www.aircombatgroup.co.uk http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...67&postcount=5 |
A bump for this epic campaign this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday 8pm GMT - we're getting big numbers because this is fantastic, unrivalled stuff. If you aren't involved, perhaps you are not in a squadron but fancy a crack at some really immersive? Historically accurate missions and mass group flying is here - none of this airquake made up stuff with low small scrapes mid channel or perchers over airfields!! Drop by our comms for the evening and we'll take you on board in an ACG squadron to test fly us.
Teamspeak 3 85.236.100.27:24637 Please arrive by 1930GMT. ...And we have something rather special and unique to COD being introduced for the first time, something not available on other servers which adds enormously to the realism factor |
Quote:
Sorry, couldn't resist. I seem to be in cynical mood this morning. I'll go for a walk. |
Epic campaign last night, more to follow tonight.
If you are not involved, you should be - this is the best thing in COD right now. |
Quote:
i as well saw in another post of you, that you think that it would take much work to adjust the mission, to have the actual number of planes in the missions, according to the number of players who will take part in the mission... this is not true as well, as it would take only a second to adjust the plane numbers for that mission, without even going into the FMB! i suggest, i just show you how it works, and how one can adjust the mission within the game menu. |
Chain Home now simulated on Storm of War server:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuOfL...ature=youtu.be |
Brilliant! After a lot of hard work from Air Combat Group chaps in design and testing we got it working. Sorry it got too late for me last night during testing and I had to retire.
Many thanks to No.501_Moggel for the implementation, those taking part in the multisquadron campaign this weekend will experience FC for the first time on ANY public server. • Accurate detection heights and ranges for the British Chain Home and Chain Home Low systems. • Filter Room simulation which compiles relevant information prior to report to pilot. • Filter Room four minute delay between detection and report - Historically accurate! • Prioritorisation of raids based on pilot interception solution. • Observer Corps simulation once behind CHL position. • Observer Corp tracking bomber groups only as per historical behaviour. • Fighter Command reporting of enemy calculated geographical position, height, heading (once available) approximate size, interception time and vector. • Automatic grouping and splitting of enemy aircraft by the system. • IFF installed (Identification Friend or Foe). There will be no “Battle of Barking Creek”, the system will disregard friendly aircraft. • Refreshable menu request. An instruction guide can be seen at our website here: http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/RDF.php (this requires small adjustments because the FC actually now does more than described) If you wish to get involved in Air Combat Group just PM or ask here or on our forums or jump in Teamspeak. We are recruiting RAF and Luftwaffe pilots. |
This weekends briefings are up... It signals the end of Kanalkampf so as a special suprise, we will be giving out some awards!
more comming soon! |
Hope everyone is looking forward to tonight, dont forget red pilots to make sure you understand how to use the radar!
Instructins for radar can be found here: http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/RDF.php Get yourselves on the server and have a play with it. Ive put up a new public mission thats a good test for it. |
Come and experience the Battle of Britian like never before! Forget the rest, - fly with the best! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nMc_...eature=related Fly in the Storm of War Campaign! - Anything else is just imatation! 90 players clashing over 50 AI bombers smooth as silk every Sunday cant be wrong! Dont be fooled by those other servers with stutters and dodgey maps and planesets! S! |
I second that Farber, it was a good show last night with excellent RAF ground control. The new RDF, which we didn't have but tested afterwards, works really well. So I hope we will have it next week.
|
Quote:
|
RDF actually provides an interception vector from the position of your aircraft to the enemy group. The interception is very accurate as long as you follow the course you've been given by the system. The system mimics the Fighter Command system during the BOB in that it has all of the delays and filtering problems simulated. What a human controller can do is keep crews on the ground and order them to scramble or to position themselves - otherwise you'll have everyone piling in at once.
|
Please be aware the brief for saturday has changed.
THis was so mission makers could insert another mission due to the rerun last sunday, please check your briefs on SOW forum! Please spread the word! |
Moggel is working hard extending the Fight Command system so that:
a) Groups of human pilots are detected b) Luftwaffe can call their command to rendezvous with bomber groups. This should be introduced fairly soon guys and lead to greater immersion as the fighters escort the bombers tightly. |
Looks like it'll be here this weekend Osprey!
|
I missed out but I spoke with some fo the chaps and Fighter Command worked a treat :D
PROPER AND HISTORICALLY ACCURATE :D |
Here is some footage of last week when Ju-87s attacked ships in the the river Thames:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq9sq743GrY |
All, please remember that the change in start times for Sunday come into play THIS SUNDAY. Saturday remains unchanged

Malware alert
Guys
I visited the SOWC forums this morning and when I returned to my PC a couple of hours later I had a Microsoft Security Essentials warning of two threats: Exploit:JS/Blacole.BC, source sowc_co_uk.html. Severity High see: http://www.microsoft.com/security/po...e=JS%2FBlacole Also a Dealply warning and My homepage had been changed to MSN. I don't know if SOWC was truly the source of either of these but some of you SOWC server guys might like to check it out. I removed them before coming here. |
Looking forward to this restarting on Saturday 5th Jan :D
Want to know more? http://sowc.forumotion.co.uk/ If you want to get involved the ACG squadrons are recruiting, just post @ http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/forum |
