Without announcing it to anyone Desastersoft put another Add-On to their order- and product-list.

Thanks for the info, I was looking at the Desastersoft website last night and noticed this but wasn't sure what it was as it's all in German.

Been interested in some decent offline campaigns and was wondering if any of the Desastersoft CLoD campaigns available in English yet? Also, I had heard good things about the Desastersoft campaign but that was a while ago - do they work with the current (final) version of CLoD? How are the AI and radio commands?

I have it its good.

As they don´t dig too deep into the engine, you have the "stock" AI and Radio-Commands. Used at it´s best, but still stock-CloD.

With their newest add-on, you can call a friendly alarm-start which will spawn and come to help you...

To sum it up: Desastersoft is the best you can get out of CloD if you want to play offline, but it is still CloD...

I have the English version of 'Wick v Dundas' via download and its excellent.
Full realism with no outside views, no map icons and giro compass navigaton is brutal.
I am looking forward to the English version of Channel battles and will definately buy that.

Its working fine with the latest 1.11 official patch although i really hate that the engines now are already started when on the ground (which was introduced by 1c in 1.11 and is not Destastersofts fault). Spoils the immersion for me. I may ask them if they can fix it!.

This plus HeinKills missons have kept up my interest in CloD.
It definately adds the campaigns that 1c left out for us offline single players.

I don't even ply cliffs of fail anymore, but you put Galland's name on anything and you have my interest.
Will buy, even if CoD doesn't do justice to all of desastersoft's hard work.

Channel Battles also good. I got the German version, even I don't speak it. Still its good. English version November tho.

Really nice story line! The role of the polish no. 303, which were one of the most successful in the royal air force. Really a nice addition to fill it with immersion.

Poor that it is not for online campaigns, where you can add a friend or 3 to join in your squadron. That is really one of the big shame, which is still left unsolved in clod. Just invite a player to fly directly as wingman and programm the game the way that there is no difference between online and offline campaigns. This should be possible to fly with your clan wingman at least, just to get routine to fight with teamwork efficiently.

Aaaaaaah, that would be sooo great, as I do not like to fly alone. Perhaps someone can.make it.coop.compatible one day.

Nevertheless: Again great job with a lot of enthusiasm. These add-ons really helped some people to stick with the game. GJ, desastersoft! ;)

21 euros to sent it to france or even austria !!! it is a shame :evil::evil:!!! in other part 35 euros and 4,23 to deliver it on amazon.de is much more cheap.My choice is made: i ordere it on amazon :-P

Is that unusual? Amazon is a big international player and certaily gets far better terms from the big mail services than a small, almost "private", enterprise such as the Desastersoft guys.

I was also disappointed at first but now I've managed to convince myself that this is probably more authentic as the engines would have been started by the ground crew prior to the pilot climbing into the cockpit. I will not buy this expansion. CloD's engine doesn't make it worth my while. I feel a little sorry for Desastersoft, because the missions are well designed and could be very enjoyable.

For me they don´t work, unfortunately...

Probably the easier way: Change the default-setting in the config-Files. Search in this forum, it is explained somewhere...
If you "fix" it in the FMB, it probably won´t work well with the Career-System...

Good point. I've learnt to live with the poor AI and bad Comms and just accepted what we have now is as good as it gets.:(
HeinKill seems to be able to mitigate some AI stuff with FMB knowledge in his missions.

I just saved as 'default' my std ammo loadout of 200 yards for Hurri/Spit and they seem to have been kept in the Destastersoft campaigns.

Forgot to note that, yes, convergence will be saved, but not ammo-type...

Will buy the Wick add on today, looks wonderful.

21 Euro is really expensive postage, it's more than the cost of the game.

Unfortunately I can't find the Wick vs Dundas English version at either Amazon UK or Amazon De (Germany).

40 Euros including post is almost four times the cost of CoD at it's present price in some places (9 pounds).

The download version is a bargain at Eur 17.99 unless you specifically want the hard copy.

I might try that. My main worry with a download is that in 5-10 years time I will have lost the activation code or whatever else I need to run it (with a new install/computer/credit card/address/e-mail/telephone number etc.), and lost the relevant information I need to re-activate with Desastersoft.

I don't think it requires an activation code. I was never given a license key, just a download link from the order confirmation email.

Maybe it does some form of activation when you run the updater?

I can't even launch / load play it any more now. Be aware of this before you run out a hand them your money. They probably will asked for more money to fix it.

Should be no worries. No activation code is required. you just the d/l 500mb file from supplied email link.

Downloaded and installed mine yesterday, really quite nice, as I am not into online play, so the hundred plus missions are fantastic, then you have the new Galland, and I would imagine they will continue to make more, maybe even something tropical?

Instead of starting rumors and giving the company bad press you might contact them with your problems, they are really helpful people!

Launches and works great here, the hi res with the additional ground units and items is really fantastic, I'll be getting the Galland, and whatever other titles they come out with!

Just make an adjudicated guess, what is going on... and coming soon :)

I see csThor is doing the translation. Is he a native English speaker? I have previously seen grammatical mistakes in other add-ons and games (not yours) that are easily spotted by native speakers.
I can volunteer to read through your translations if you wish. I do proofreading for a University on a regular basis.

To clarify: I'm not interested in doing translations but will read through them to spot any mistakes.

no sarcasm at all, when CloD shipped all you had was a bunch of missions and no real coherent campaign as such, waiting for better updates i bought into ROF and was one of the first to play the new career mode, i didn't know these great addons existed and its just what CloD needs,
I cant go back to win7, and now upgraded after 6 months on the RP version of win8 and have since upgraded my GPU to a med range GTX 550 ti, and this game is one i want to get back into, sad thing is...no win8 support as yet. Hell i even bought a thrustmaster Hotas X just for CloD, once patched to win8, i'll buy these addons in a heartbeat.
hopefully soon, also some great graphics posts around too.

I wouldn't hold my breath for win8 compatibility for CoD, Win8 will be the Windows Millenium Edition of today, i'd say.

Any chance on a deastersoft North African campaing? with just a desert to mod..the tree ahd buildings would probably be a non issue ;) Just a thought, maybe one can't mod the terrain to this level at this point.


By the way, these addons are great, and the game was entirely lacking in this respect, campaign and detailed progression, medals, promotions, its how the game should have been released for those that are not much into online flying, which are a lot of us.

i partitioned a drive and installed win7 and got CloD up and running, actually its a nice neat little 50 GB island install, with just this one game sitting in steam :)
downloaded the demo of Fighter Aces! Helmut Wick vs. J. C. Dundas gonna give it a shot :)

I really wish someone could rework the bad initial screens from Clod. Deseastersoft did a great job with their cut screens. Can't imagine it would be too hard to mod.

Just downloaded Fighter Aces Adolf Galland....in English. But I havent got it to work yet. I think it's due to a confliction with the Team Fusion MOD that just came out. Trying a fresh install.

Anyone else having issues with this?

Getting the FAQ error of not being able to get past the Single Player screen (aka no pop up screen to select Campaign) tho my computer is running as an Administrator so I have no Idea. Uninstalling everything and going to try un-modded COD patch with the add on and see if this solves it.

If you've installed the ATAG FS Mod then all Desastersoft files need to be copied to the "Mod" folder created in My Documents\1CSoftclub.
Go to the ATAG forum for info.
Also, you need to update your Desastersoft campaigns by running the update(s) that are in the Start\Desastersoft menu. Desastersoft has created a patch to allow proper function of their campaigns under the ATAG FS Mod.

Well I re-installed before I got this and it works. I had used the updater before launching the game yesterday and is still didn't work.

Excuse my ignorance...but I'm assuming ATAG FS and Team Fusion Mod are one and the same?? Just starting out on COD again after shelving it almost immediately after my first install. Sorry about the Noob question.

I would like to reinstall the MOD with this Add on if at all possible. I guess I'll go look for ATAG FS now.

Although I got the addon to work with the TF mod, no AI aircraft is ever taking off the ground, and that seems to extend to any mission. Help?
