Looking forward to the sequel.

SlipBall 10-18-2012 10:25 PM

Thanks nearmiss luthier and the team, was a rocky road:)

slm 10-18-2012 10:27 PM

I'm glad this patch was finally released. And hope that BoM won't be that far away - but release it only when it's ready...

maxwellbest 10-18-2012 10:32 PM

Amen to the above. Devs, take your time. Or adopt the DCS model of payable Beta..I am in if you do. BTW, thanks for sticking with it, CLOD has come a long way.

Feathered_IV 10-18-2012 10:34 PM

Seems a little hasty but fingers crossed. I hope it's a good one and will keep us going for the next couple of years, until the Sequel arrives.

mazex 10-18-2012 10:37 PM

Downloaded it and if I try to erase everything that happened the last 1.5 years and play it like it was the original release it actually is an awesome game... No other flight sim is close in my opinion regarding the graphics, flight models and damage modelling. Sure there are bugs left but try to fly it as you have been nuked back to early march 2011 - and enjoy it! :)

Continu0 10-18-2012 10:51 PM

Suggestion: make the Thread from Luthier Sticky and delete this one...?

Insuber 10-18-2012 10:55 PM

Amen. Just tested it on Atag it seems exactly the RC2. Let's make the max out of this, some aspects are OK, others are still rough. But I regret a lot the bullet "quick flashes", they were removed in one of the beta patches and never reinstated are a big miss.
As foor the sequel we need the promised announcement to calm our nerves ... :-)

ATAG_Dutch 10-18-2012 11:15 PM

Fantastic news! :)

Many many thanks, to Luthier, BlackSix and the rest of the team for the work involved in getting this flight simulator to shine as it does, in such conditions of adversity.

Now it's time to go fly. :D

*Buzzsaw* 10-18-2012 11:18 PM

Salute

My Tests showed following problems remain:

Spitfire and Hurricane Engine misfiring bug remains.

Onset is same as RC versions, +6 1/4 boost at 9000 ft for Spitfire 100 octane, and +6 1/4 boost at 15,000 ft for Hurricane 100 octane. Not sure about the other variants yet.

Engine cutout on Merlins as a result of flying through clouds remains. Any sustained flight through a cloud will cause the Merlin to misfire and cutout, as much as 30 seconds depending on the length of time spent in the cloud. Not an historical effect, or at least not in summer conditions at lower altitudes where this occurred.

Spitfire 100 octane ceiling is maximum approx. 23,500 ft, attempts to climb higher will result in overheating, at that altitude, highest boost which can be used is -1. Historical ceiling was 33,000 ft.

Merlin engines more prone to overheat at high altitudes than low, same boost and rpm at low alt has the engine running cooler than identical at high alt. This is opposite of historical.

Had my wing taken off by gunfire and extensive damage, no sounds audible at all, this is a step back from previous RC version.

On a positive note:

In my test on ATAG server, it seemed to be running quite well with upwards of 75 players.

Players were reporting reflection effects were better.

Players reporting damage effects seemed to be back to earlier versions of the game, ie. pieces flying off, explosions more impressive, etc.

Perhaps it was fact it was quite dark, dawn scenario, but players reporting object destruction more spectacular, ships on fire, bombs going off, reflections in water etc.

Just came off the ATAG Server: 89 players and smooth as silk!

vranac 10-18-2012 11:21 PM

Thanks for the good work ;)

I would buy the sequel right now,but we have to wait a year or two.

Keep up a good work, we will wait running SoW campaigns and maybe a moving frontline campaign made by podvoxx ;)

Toni74 10-18-2012 11:28 PM

Perhaps next time the 110 C will get a real C type cockpit instead of the current bugfest.

All the best for the sequel.

lonewulf 10-18-2012 11:29 PM

Um, thanks. It's really appreciated, however, I must have picked up the wrong end of the stick again because when I log on to my steam account the game doesn't automatically update. I can't join ATAG because I have the wrong version of the game (1.10).

Could someone please let me know what I'm supposed to do to get flying? Thanks.

Tried logging out of steam and back in again? Or you could try verifying the game files in steam.

Great news to hear, finally I have a reason to now create my profile for my new Warthog. I have been holding off getting into the sim for this final release patch, glad it is here.

ATAG_Snapper 10-19-2012 12:36 AM

Crikey, Don, it seems like a long time since you first intro'd yourself! I have the Warthog HOTAS, plus Saitek Combat pedals. I also invested in a CH Quadrant which has proven very handy.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance. :)

joker68 10-19-2012 12:54 AM

Finally. Time to go back and try CLOD again.
Now, I would be interested in some Warthog files, as I have one too.
Also, could someone point me a maddox.dll for english version, please? I have the russian version (yep, early adopter here).
Thanks

lonewulf 10-19-2012 12:54 AM

Thanks Uther, that fixed it. Cheers.

Will do, thanks very much! It was a very busy summer for me, now that fall is here and winter approaching I will have much more time available. Now that the final is released I am ready to get going with this again! I did all that work ealier on creating a profile for my Cougar, now gotta do it again with the Warthog lol.

I had a scary start, launched the sim and got the launcher error - went in and did the verify integrity thing, then it updated and I think all is well now.

roadczar 10-19-2012 01:15 AM

Does it work on win 8?

d.burnette 10-19-2012 01:36 AM

Wow, this is looking pretty dang good. I did not do any of the beta patches so going straight from the last official patch to this one. Very nice improvement!

fadec1 10-19-2012 02:20 AM

Should I uninstall everything if I have the release candidate installed?

IvanK 10-19-2012 02:53 AM

No.

First up go into your My documents/1C cache folder and delete the files you see in there. Then go to the cache/Shaders folder and delete the files in there.
(Note both the folders must exist so just delete the files in theses folders NOT the folders themselves)

Then crank up steam and "verify local cache integrity" it will do everything for you.

GF_Mastiff 10-19-2012 03:16 AM

big FPS improvements!!!!

TX-EcoDragon 10-19-2012 03:56 AM

Well darn it, the two beta patches caused me launcher errors 100% of the time, and now so does the final version!

Das Attorney 10-19-2012 05:07 AM

Thank you for final patch.

Nothing else to add as feedback is irrelevant now.

Will check back when some further news from 1C breaks.

GOZR 10-19-2012 05:18 AM

End of this theater for now ... good now lets move on to Moscow where things will be much more interesting.. ;) Hopefully like IL2 we will able to have all those great theaters .
