MP vulching scumbags..
Just to let everyone know who's getting down low to this kind of dirty playing.
This night on ATAG server, the scumbags were ATAG_Torian and ATAG_Doc, both vulching my sitting plane, the first while warming up for take off, the second after a landing stop. Both of you scumbags will be on my ignore list from now on. |
|
Um.... wow, that's fairly strong stuff bro. After all, it's just a game for god's sake. If you're getting whacked during takeoff just spawn at another field. Aircraft did get attacked on the ground and while taking off during the war you know. In fact, I think most of us have been chopped on the ground at some point. I certainly have.
Of course, that said, I must put my hand up and confess that I love nothing better than orbiting Hawkeing and attacking Spits just as they go wheels-up. It's just fantastic! OMG...I think I'm developing an erection... |
Wow, I can't imagine the horror!!! Those low down.....scalliwags!!!!!!
|
|
well, I know vulching is accepted in ATAG rules, and I know I can just switch to another airfield, eventually further away too, but those practicing it are still scumbags. as simple as that. specially against sitting targets, which are not at least moving in the takeoff or landing process. After the ATAG_Torian did his thing and destroyed my first plane, I've re-spawned in another plane immediately, right next to the old just-destroyed one, hoping the scumbag got his erection from the first destroyed aircraft and the message to stop doing it..
you might mock it, and call it whining, baby cry or whatever you like, it won't minimize the deed, which is still the same, and shows the "quality" of the people practicing it, and their total lack of moral, empathy, compassion or respect. the same type of human being saying "in war everything's fair" and pressing the trigger shooting at parachutes, dropping phosphor or napalm bombs over cities and villages, beating and raping women or driving their tanks over children. the lowest scumbags of them all. |

War is hell.
When it comes down to it the first rule of war is to inflict the most amount of damage to the enemy with the least amount of risk to yourself. In his best seller "The Art of War", Sun Tzu clearly states "The musical notes are only five in number but their melodies are so numerous that one cannot hear them all" Which I have alway taken as meaning "shoot the b&5tards on the ground!" Or maybe Ts'ao Ts'ao was closer with "Use the most solid to attack the most empty"? Who knows? |

Anyway, vulchers. Annoying after spending 10mins starting your engine, only to have to start all over again at a different field. But a necessary part of the re-enactment of war which we are trying to achieve. Vulchers. I love 'em. It's the most satisfying of kills when you bring one down...... |

Love hearing over Teamspeak "Vulchers at Hawkinge (or Manston, Lympne, etc)". Climbout to 6K or 7K and head over for some good fun! :) |

You are trying to compare a fighter / bomber (plane designed to shoot at or bomb enemy targets on the ground or air) to innocent people being raped, people hanging in chutes, tanks driving over civilians? You must really have a screw loose. You're in a plane who's whole purpose is to shoot down the enemy. You weren't a civilian on the ground. You weren't playing daddy in a video game house. You were playing an enemy soldier and were sitting in an enemy plane. Expect to be shot at, bombed, or w/e by the opposition. Just because you weren't smart enough to pick an airfield away from the front lines doesn't mean you have to come on here and cry about it like a 5 year old. Avoiding being vulched is as simple as a mouse click on a different airfield. I will NEVER understand why people cry about it. If you get vulched blame yourself. It is your fault. |
Its not war - its a game.
There is neither enough ack nor standing CAP on your server to make "vulching" what it was during a real war. Not to mention the issues with getting some aircraft warmed up / started in CLoD. Its your server - do what you want. The few people who actually still bother to fly this game on line do not need to fly there if they don't like it. However, making stupid comparisons to some half arsed cartoon computer game to a "war" makes you look like an absolute joke. Wotan |

as for the vulching? its all part of the game, get over it twinkle toes. |
Lol..what a hilarious thread..
one word... CAP, stop being xxxxxx lazy and take off somewhere in land |

Well, JT, you may vulch a little on occasion, but I have it on good authority that you spend most of your time running children over with TANKS!!!!!!
|
In the end it is all down to the way people want to play this game.
Some people prefer to play the game in the "enjoyable" way, having fun in a WW2 environment, because they like it that way (Su 26 is so cool  ), and some other people prefer to play it "historical", "like it was back then", because they enjoy it like this (wtf, SU26 ). It could be resolved if more servers can emerge. But that will only be achieved if more people are here to populate them. Yelling over each other won't make a good impression for these newcomers. Hope you've all catched my drift here  |
Errr ... I'm led to believe there's some "raping" that goes on somewhere on the ATAG server, but I can't find the place where you sign-up. If anyone knows anything.......

practice somewhere else is the answer to your problem |
My three cents:
- It is ATAG server, so it is ATAG rules. - I like vulching, but do not enjoy it. - I enjoy the risk of getting vulched. |
Hmmmm,
Wasn't it Einstein that said something like: "Doing the same thing over again and expecting different results is a definition of insanity." Don't respawn in the same place right away. |

Torian and Doc - welcome to the exclusive club of scumbags. Must be about 100 strong now I would imagine - both red and blue. Getting a bit crowded though. Welcome anyway - please leave your scruples at the door and have a pint on me. |

I remember the people in IL2 that complained about vulching aswell.. No vulching allowed would be the same as having trees you can fly through without being damaged.. It just wouldn't "feel" real. It's nice to be under attack. Gives you that feeling of urgency, panic, all the good feelings in life :). |
I could have vulched about 10 people last night but I didn't, its very annoying when it happens to you but it is part of the game Adonys :D

"Over enemy airbase, No efective air defences in place. During the sortie I observed aproximately 10 E/A aircaft starting up or preparing to take off, although I had ammunition remaining I refrained from attacking the enemy to give the E/A's a sporting chance." I think that in Real Life(tm) the pilots superiors would have taken a dim view of that account! :) Cheers! |

I like the "vulch only with bombs or rockets" rule (very often used in Il2 46 servers), as in WW2 airbases were often well protected by flak and you could only survive one pass (or not, german 20mm used to scare the sheer out of english ground attack pilots). Can't the abundance of flak be mimicked with a trigger enabled randomly after a certain amount of time in an area, like a 80mm shell explodes right near your plane if you circle too long around given coordinates? |
Thing is with the FLAK of any kind is that it cant be made to hold fire until a certain distance like old IL2. Nor can you change the skill of the gunners. The smallest gun the Brits have is a 40mm Bofors that fires upto 3.5 KM's. The smallest the Germans have is a 20mm...
We need some AA machine guns and to be able to change the accuracy and distance that the guns fire at. If you dont like getting vulched take off from a rear airbase... |
Vulchers
What we need to end the vulching problem is both side have controlable flax: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QArJn...feature=relmfu
After a few long sorties I love to unwind with a bottle of scotch and a little skeet shooting  |

Sod it next time I will mow them down like sheep  One was a spit at manston in a hanger I flew right through it, would have loved to see his reaction  |
The amazing thing is ATAG asks for donations so you can get vulched while warming up your engine so they can boost their stats. Sums up pretty well why they are against a proper co-op gui....it would take away from their skill-less vulch sessions where they high five when they exclaim" Wooohooo....vulched another noob!!"..." Nice job Maverick!...Thanks Goose!" lol

Just like saying "Vulching is realistic and part of BOB" You guys are kidding yourself. Show me some stats that show planes had to take off inland because there were enemy planes circling the coastal airfields for 80% of the war. Whatever....if thats what you guys like...it's your server. For those pilots that want a little more realism and think dogfights should take place with planes in the air...look for a server elsewhere. |

http://www.field-recording.org.uk/ba...raf-manston-2/ Although I get your point. Seems players do bee line to them. You can lead the community to a briefing but you cant make them follow it! ;) So naturally where are enemy fighters going to be? - at airfields... Just from my own opinion: I think allot of it stems from the poor red FM's were allot of red pilots have decided hugging their AA is a great idea, therefore bringing the fight closer to home and lower but you can't blame them. The blue pilots main ride is the 109 which we all know favours the boom and zoom tactics which favours flying at altitude... Its just cause and effect and it all starts with the mission making and then the players which work out the stratergies.. People seem to seek instant action over Hawkinge, Lympne and Manston but the best fights Ive ever had have been over Deal. |

We don't have such a comprehensive command and control system in the game, but we do have 'Arthur' telling us periodically how many aircraft are heading in which direction, in which grid reference and at what height. If you can't be arsed listening, and working out the fact that Alambash is heading for Manston/Hawkinge, then expect some lead up your bum. |

Maybe a "commander mode" would be a good feature to add to implement this? |

TBH I never used the flak at my coastal airfields only because I had thought it too ineffective to save my goose from a pursuing 109! LOL. It was a post you made awhile back commenting on defensive flak around RAF airfields that had me look a little closer at the server messages on a Custom Window ingame. For almost every kill (bombers at high alt, LW fighters at low alt) -- I was ALWAYS sharing it with "Bofors, bofors, bofors" and getting credit for part of a kill. It was an "aha!" moment! ;) re Red FM's: much improved for 100 octane Spits in this beta 1.09. Much less prone to overheat if careful (but still very possible!), I believe that at low-to-mid altitudes they are a fair match for the 109's in terms of performance. Sea level speeds seem very close. I'm finding co-energy 109's still have a climb advantage, but Spits are no longer floundering around below. I still think 109's have too vicious an accelerated stall and spin at high speed, but I believe I'm alone in thinking that. Just as well....it's saved my bacon a few times over the weekend! :P All to say, I believe with this latest RC 1.09 patch that encounters between opposing Spits and 109's have become much more interesting for both parties. Airfield suppression tactics (vulching) especially will be wild -- aggressive Jabo raids will be increasingly met with fierce interceptions. Fun times for all! |
And Maidstone may be bumpy, but it's ever such a peaceful and quiet airfield...
By the time you get over Manston/Hawkinge, you're at >15,000ft. Then you get the call.....'Low flak over Manston' (of course they should say 'ack-ack', I mean we're not Germans after all, but 'flak' seems to be 'de riguer' in these latter days), or 'Vulcher (vulture?) over Littlestone!'....But you've by now got so much height, you can scream down on them like a screaming diving thing, with a pot of kinetic and potential energy so huge you'd think your name was the name of a big bloke. Unfortunately, you may be going so fast, you collide with your adversary, or conversely shoot down a Blenheim coz it looks so much like an '88. But I bet both those things happened in real life too. ;) |

".......or conversely shoot down a Blenheim coz it looks so much like an '88." Hey, it looked like it was making a low level run against our ships!!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! (Apologies once again to Epoch. Who would think I would actually HIT something on my first pass for once???? :( ) |
I'm rewriting my parachute & cable airfield defence script as we speak :)

They join the well known "full realism" ATAG community server, get vulched by one of the members and spend half an hour crying about it. Then, they come onto the developers forum and create a post to cry some more, and gain some attention. And the most hilarious part: Doc was recording the whole damn thing! Talk about adding salt to the wounds, damn! thats just about the whole bag! lmaooo! Curse those ATAG members! They are the closest thing to the Hells Angels of the virtual skies. ATAG_Slipstream. |

How did I know this thread was going to turn into an ATAG member joke fest, rampant with mocking any non-member's concerns with immaturity and self-righteousness?
This forum is a joke due to ATAG's non-constructive garbage. Help the OP out with some actual tips and consideration, or at least some decent PR damage control, instead of jerkin' each other off in their threads. ATAG, you own the most popular server, a members of your player base are concerned about gameplay, acquiesce them...keep this up and you'll find yourselves very lonely in your server. |

Perhaps an arcane point but just for the record the two ex-RAF WW 2 aircrew that I knew (both dead now unfortunately) ALWAYS talked about FLAK and never about Ack Ack. As far as I could tell it was very much adopted jargon in operational squadrons of the RAF, essentially because a)they were on the receiving end of it and b)that's what the Germans called it. The stuff put up over RAF airfields would be more correctly described as Ack Ack, however again, the impression I gleaned from my conversations with these guys is that this would also be loosely described as FLAK and to call it anything else would immediately cast doubt on your credentials as "operational aircrew". Too much talk about Ack Ack and you may fall under suspicion as some 'back area base-wallah' up for a look. Of course, as with most things, there are no hard and fast rules about such things. |

And a bump for the funniest thread of the week... |
Quote:
As far as the flak/ack ack, as said about 100 times just to you it is virtually identical on both sides, even consisting of the same types/groupings for both red and blue. The last thing it is is biased. It can't be. It's the same for both sides. Anyone that records a track could easily see it. As far as historical, I'm sorry, but you must not know anything about the game to even think that's possible ATM. We don't even have the airfield the majority of the heavy blue bombers took off from even in the game. We are here to have fun, plain and simple. I'm sorry our squad doesn't have a military ranking system or wear the uniform while we play. No one is stopping anyone from playing wherever they want. But if you really expect anyone to take a thread or the OP seriously when he just called people a bunch of names and cry. I'm assuming you guys would get along great! @force - you are the epitome of a sad individual. The only thing you do in forums is try to bring others down to make yourself feel better about your obvious sad existence on the planet. You have never done one thing for this community at all. I feel sorry for you and do hope you get some help. |
Typical response from someone that has nothing valid to say. It's amazing how you are still upset from the last time the community made fun of how much of an idiot your posts were. I'd suggest trying to learn from it. Your smearing will do nothing other than make you look like a bigger fool than you already are.

Meh...4/10, Bliss. I know you've got more than that.
