[Edit], October 4
Hotfix for the RC with improvements to British start-up and beta SLI-Crossfire support:
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=34740

Patch Notes:

Graphics
- Fixed the plane label bug, where the label would hide behind the clouds;
- Corrected brightness for various light sources;
- Fixed the black front line issue;
- Corrected incorrectly aligned water explosion effects;
- Various other minor fixes and improvements.

Network
- Corrected the bug when attempting to connect to a password-protected server after previously entering an incorrect password;
- Corrected the issue that sometimes disabled the country selection controls when connecting to a server;
- Corrected issues with some plane sounds online;
- Exorcised ghost planes;
- Corrected the behavior of “jumping” cars and some other vehicles;
- Fixed the issue where GamePlay.gpAirports() could return incorrect data.

New Features
Servers can now work with user-made map labels in their scripts.
When a user creates a new map label, server receives the following event
OnUserCreateUserLabel(GPUserLabel ul)
Or, when a label is deleted,
OnUserDeleteUserLabel(GPUserLabel ul)
GPUserLabel – label type, where Point2d pos ;
Player Player ;
string Text ;
double time ;
int type;

Available Label Types :
GPUserIconType
Waypoint,
Plane,
AAGun,
Ship,
Factory,
Tank,
Car,
Label

You can also create your own label with
GamePlay.gpMakeUserLabel(p, GamePlay.gpPlayer(), actor.Name(), GamePlay.gpTimeofDay(), (int)GPUserIconType.Plane)
The server can send a label to the players with:
gpDrawUserLabel(world.GPUserLabel ul); // all players on the server
gpDrawUserLabel(int army, world.GPUserLabel ul); all players in int army
gpDrawUserLabel(Player[] to, world.GPUserLabel ul); only the players in the Player[] to list
The labels can also be deleted correspondingly:
gpDeleteUserLabel(world.GPUserLabel ul);
gpDeleteUserLabel(Player[] to, world.GPUserLabel ul);
gpDeleteUserLabel(int army, world.GPUserLabel ul);

FM
Conducted a huge amount of work correcting and improving aircraft flight models as well as most engine models. All work was based on historical flight test data or flight manuals (Sean, what would we do without you!). Unfortunately our flight model does not allow us to perfectly replicate test results at all ranges of altitude. At altitudes above 8000 m (26,000 ft) most aircraft begin to perform worse than their historical counterparts. Addressing this discrepancy requires a large additional amount of work, and will therefore be done in a future release.
Changes in this patch include:

- Various minor changes and corrections to all aircraft.

- Added Hurricane MkI and Spitfire MkI with constant-speed propellers and 100-octane fuel.

- Corrected the Merlin engine model.

- Added pitot heat controls to Spitfires.

- G.50
Fixed engine heat balance that had previously prevented listed HP from being available at all altitudes.
Added +100 boost that can only be used in emergency mode.

- BR-20
Decreased never-exceed airspeed.

- Spitfire Mk.Ia
Corrected (increased) airspeeds at altitudes above 6K m.

- Hurricane Mk.Ia
Corrected (decreased) airspeeds at all altitudes alongside Spit II.

- Blenheim Mk.IV
Corrected the engine model.
Corrected altitude performance.
Decreased never-exceed airspeed.
Corrected engine modes at all altitudes (RPM, boost, fuel flow, etc).
Implemented smooth flap control.
Changed the airscrew to two-speed.
Corrected empennage values that created too much interference during take-off.
Affixed springs to bomb bay doors.

- He-111 и Ju-88
Corrected radio compass animations.

- Bf-109
Corrected cockpit animations for trimmer and flap chains.
Corrected flap model
Corrected the flap sounds
Corrected the pitot heat light.

Other flight model and engine changes.
- Corrected negative G cut-out for carburetor engines. The effect will be noticeable at around +0.1G.
- Corrected the mixture control level on Hurricanes and Spitfires. It is now push forward for Lean, pull back for Rich. With that, moving the throttle lever to idle will return the lever to Rich.
- Corrected (increased) low-altitude speeds for most Brutish fighters (Spitfire MkI with DH and Rotol aircrews, Hurricane MkI with DH and Rotol aircrews).
- Corrected Bf-109 rudder behavior.
- Corrected fuel flow calculations for most aircraft.
- Corrected (increased) radiator drag when it is opened.
- Corrected throttle control. The entire range is now useful.
- Corrected overspeed sound. It will now steadily increase in volume depending on airspeed.

- Added a Su-26 acrobatics plane.
You can toggle airshow smoke by injecting oil into the exhaust manifold. This is done with the WEP button by default. The default smoke is white. You can select other colors by selecting corresponding loadout options.

The plane also comes with four easter egg weapons that can be loaded onto the center pylon:

- Shotgun – fires explosive pellets with everyone’ sfavorite green tracers;
- Laser – fires a beam that sets an enemy plane alight. Effective distance is 700m;
- Antimatter mortar – fires anti-matter spitwads;
- Railgun – fires a shell that generates electromagnetic pulse that in turn destroys enemy subsystems, especially engines.

NOTE: Our artificial intelligence simply could not manage the pure awesomeness of this plane. If you try to create doom flights of railgun-armed Su-26s the AI will most likely just crash.
The Su-26 is a special type of a recon plane in the game, so other AI aircraft will mostly ignore it in missions.

Unexpected patch! Thanks, will test it out.

Some of it must be from beta- like the mix lever change.

Thank you Luthier and team :o

It's mostly just the latest changes, maybe 1 or 2 previous patch changes stayed in my notes and I'm too tired to try to figure out which ones they are.

Anvilfolk 09-28-2012 03:11 PM

Cheerio! :) Glad to see this moving forwards :)

I thought the Spit was too slow not too fast. :confused:

So now the 109 is even faster than the fastest Spitfire? eh.. is this right?

Kupsised 09-28-2012 03:12 PM

Brilliant!

I know this will probably get burried, but can someone remind me how we do this? Do we have to revert to the default steam version before applying the new patch?

Maybe we should look in game, he said some are previous changes and that seems very similar to the earlier readme.

Yes just verify files in steam and it will take you back to the official version.

1.JaVA_Sharp 09-28-2012 03:22 PM

wtf!!!!! paying for the patch download?

SG1_Mino 09-28-2012 03:23 PM

First thank for the patches.

Second: ¿Why dont have a server for download? i cant understand that you use free mirrows.
I´m saying this because when i try download the patche speedyshare say that i must pay. Sorry but this isnt serious.

Estimados Esafadores.

mcFly 09-28-2012 03:23 PM

I don't want to pay for the download, any other mirrors by now?

VO101_Tom 09-28-2012 03:24 PM

I cannot DL the patch, the webpage say, only premium member can dowload.
Any mirror please?

zapatista 09-28-2012 03:25 PM

luthier,

many thanks for the new patch :)

could you please as a matter of priority add the ability to set a specific FoV between 35 and 90 degrees as we were able to do in the later installments of the il2 series ? since many of us have different size monitors, we need to be able to set a "normal" view for our monitor sizes

without the ability to do so ALL in-game objects and planes look the wrong size, and if distant planes are not displayed in their correct sizes it distorts the sense of how far away they are from us and how fast they are traveling. as a flight SIMULATOR it is essential we are able to see object sizes correctly from our cockpits

fixing this is a relatively minor issue for your programers that shouldnt take much time, but will make a big difference in game play for the users

thanks for all the hard work !

Steuben 09-28-2012 03:25 PM

Yes a mirror or torrent would be nice!

Patch can only been downloaded by paying with that mirror? Surely some mistake.
Think I will wait until later and other mirrors appear..

Warhound 09-28-2012 03:29 PM

seedyshare..ugh!
Guess it could be downloaded freely for X times, past that only paying members can grab the file.
Nice vague wording on their site too : "However if any particular file is downloaded too often, overloading SpeedyShare system or network resources, or has been uploaded long time ago, it may be marked as Premium Only - unavailable for free download. In that case, only SpeedyShare Premium subscribers are able to download it. The circumstances under which a file is marked as Premium Only may vary from time to time, and from file to file."

Please please listen to our suggestions Luthier and use Dropbox or Torrents.

I managed to download it from the free option.. maybe it has a limited number of downloads that has already been exceeded.

I'll upload it to a mirror asap, but my upload is very slow.

the patch is very good news (presuming the spitfire and hurricane "speed corrections" are a typo), but i think it is a downward step to include some weird fantasy wonder weapons for the su26, it really detracts from what should be focused on as a ww2 simulator with realistic planes and weapons

hate to post something negative o this glorious day of a new patch, the weird fantasy weapons just seems like an odd choice while so many other issues need to be addressed

any indication the reversed controls for the allied fighters are corrected for ex ?

adonys 09-28-2012 03:58 PM

so.. nothing about:
- AI
- radio comms
- clouds

I regret to have to say it, but it doesn't sound too good to me..

I only partly agree with you. As far as I can imagine, these wonder-weapons didn´t use so much time to programm. I guess they have something like that anyway for their own purpose. For testing System-Damages, Damage-Modell, etc....

This speed corrections/decreases where already done some beta patches ago.

The changelog is not only for this patch, it sums up all the changes that were made in the last beta patches too.

Please add a mirror for the international version. It's impossible to download the patch (at least in my area):

Thanks guys- every little bit helps!

philip.ed 09-28-2012 04:05 PM

If the dev team have the time to work on weird fantasy weapon additions (which could take no time to muster up at all), what's wrong with posting short notices to say: 'no time to answer questions, sorry' or to even take the time to answer a few questions? :confused:

I've got the game running well at near enough max settings on my laptop (ATI 6990m) so I might wait and see this mature into a patch (hopefully).

hiro 09-28-2012 04:06 PM

excellent, thanks

some file hosts you can use are

theres more

so like the devs are bunch of SW fans . . .

any chance of a red lightsaber lol

any case , even though some things aren't fixed like the promised weather and AI, any improvements to get this game back up are welcome

I like the humor with the SU-26, I understand it and its pretty awesome, esp with the references to some of the early versions of the game with blaster cannon like effects or a death star glitch moon thing . ..

Keep it up guys!

Your father's light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire.

He was the best star pilot in the galaxy, and a cunning warrior. I understand that you've become quite a good pilot yourself.

Never. I'll never turn to the Dark Side. You've failed, your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me.

Don't blame me. I'm an interpreter. I'm not supposed to know a power socket from a computer terminal.

Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder.

luthier 09-28-2012 04:08 PM

Another mirror up in a few minutes, sorry about that, didn't know it'll start asking for money after a few downloads.

I'll answer everyone's questions over the weekend, hopefully starting later tonight.

Kupsised 09-28-2012 04:08 PM

I have to say, the Su-26 is brilliant fun to fly. I've noticed at least one bug with it though, although it's only minor, but the pitch lever in the cockpit doesn't work. I can adjust pitch with the axes assigned, but if I try the clickable one in the cockpit the lever moves but it does nothing to pitch.

Otherwise, I'm also unable to change the loadout of it in the normal quick missions (although I can't remember whether this has always been the case with all aircraft). I can't add guns to the gun racks or select a pre-saved loadout.

I've tried the wonder weapons in FMB though and they are good fun. With regards to the AI not engaging properly though, if you put them on free hunt, they engage. I found out the hard way, with 36 109's all shooting at me at once :P The poor Su didn't hold out too long. Great fun and good for aerobatics though!

This depends entirely on what arbitrary date one puts on "the battle of Britain".

Until all parties agree on the end date, how can we agree if the spit2 was in service during the period?

Sorry yes not 100% true.

Well ther was one squadron in september, but basically as a main stream highly available fighter it is true.

  • I verified files via steam.
  • Closed steam
  • deleted cache
  • copied patch files to game folder
  • Started steam

Worked fine.

Thx Luthier !

Great to end the series with the deliverable. Seems your team is now acute enough to do a great job with BoM.

You are not the only one and fron the the first post of the patch and I tried the last version under torrent no result.
I tried everything new installation of the game so no addition or modification or old patcheses I did tried the neat and true steam version 1.05 a full mission then did verify the integrity of the files and deleted the caches. Installed the pacth files and always same results steam launch the game first yellow plane with recticle no ubisoft logo but a black screen and then back to steam or the desktop depending from wher the game was launched!
I even tried to get some log files but never got one ?
:confused::rolleyes:

Ok Ok I tried without the SLI and it worked but now I shall test the fps to see the difference..or not.

now with those death lasers all Su-26 sceptics will be silenced (forever :twisted: )

i'm glad to see the developers didn't lose their humor even with all this trouble around

What exactly does decrease the Spit MkIIa low level speed mean?

Can we have performance curves or tables posted so that we can see for our
selves what the Spits and Messers are programmed to? Please share the
references used.

Looking at sites such as these two, the 109E3 and Mk2a are prettily close from
10K' down to SL. But just saying decreased leaves much to the imagination.

It's great to see that the Su26 has materialised!!!
New planes are always very welcome.

Thanks, for all the hard work and patience.

This feels a bit like the old IL2 days:-)

MD_Titus 09-28-2012 06:43 PM

Kodoss 09-28-2012 06:48 PM

Can anybody tell me why the sound files are empty?

See /parts/bob/speech/... in the new beta.
none of them give a sound. Placeholders till the final patch?:confused:

.
Little problem with;
The Sptifire MKIa MKIa 100oct and MKIIa impossible to maintain the engine to idle or if you like it better if you put the engine to idle it stops and needs to be restarted. In flight it is not joyful.
For the other Spitfire MKI and Hurricane DH 5.20 or Rotol or rotol 100 oct everithing is ok and normal.
I have tried this for each one during test flights takes off and landings it was corrected for the Spitfire MKI but now it is back for the rest of the Spitfire types! Nearly there.:cool:;-)

luthier 09-28-2012 06:53 PM

I removed the Spitfire IIa airspeeds line from the patch notes. This is from a previous beta version, you've all been playing with those changes for months now.

Sorry about the confusion.

Cannot replicate. Does this happen in-flight? What exact steps should I take to stop my engine in flight?

If this happens in flight it's unintended and will be fixed (working as intended if on the ground).

Cannot start the Hurri's again on the ground!! keymap for full rich, full lean is not working as before.

Can only get the Spit II to start and then getting it to idle is touchy.

redxfred 09-28-2012 07:43 PM

CLoD will not start now

I applied this patch and now all I get is the initial "Airplane in the sights", followed by a reversion to the desktop. Could this be related to Microsoft .Net Framework problem?

I7-950,ASUS Rapage III, 12 GB memory, SSD 2xHD6970, etc.
