Are DONATIONS possible?
I wrote it on the "Thoughts about Friday's update" thread by HorrorRoach, but it was quickly "devoured" by other posts.
I searched the forums and could not find any answer. Some would say I could buy an extra copy, but I would prefer a formal way to make donations to the team to support Clod development/support. |

Blacksix, are you able to comment on this please...
http://bobgamehub.blogspot.dk/2012/0...ll-be-mmo.html Thanks. |
It is already known that the sequel will be a MMO.
It was announced many weeks ago. You even can fight as a trooper or in tanks, not only in airplanes. There are videos published by 1c. |

it has already been confirmed by luthier/1c that the next product will be BoM, the next installment of the flightsim series which can be installed over the CoD product, with CoD in that way getting all the new enhancements and features that are part of BoM the MMO (the little we know of it, its not formally announced) will be a different type of product that cant be merged with the new flightsim products. presumably the same planes FM and DM's will be used in the MMO |
Black Six, can you give Luthier a poke to remind him about the Q&A's, or ask him if he's going to bother with it.
|
if you guys are seriously considering this, then have a look in here..
Fall in! Atteeeention! - What about.. community initiative?!! I can not do it all by myself, as they decided than only native american citizens can do it.. |

I would glaldly donate a sheet of A4 paper and a pen if I thought Luthier might write something meaningful on it, within a single calendar week.
And I would be elated if any of those things came to pass. |

Go to troll somewhere else please... |
I certainly hope donations are possible. I could really do with some.
Any help is gratefully recieved. (No cheques please). . |
Jcenzano....that is not trolling. It is based on current and past practice.
I would be more respectful, and respecting, if I felt it was deserved....or if I felt customers were being treated with a basic level of respect. Or at least taken seriously. My feeling is that the game, and possibly some of the manager/s, have been anything but. Fair enough, I have no problem with that, provided they expect like for like. If anything, I think many people on this forum have been remarkably - impossibly - lenient, if not sycophantic. But it can't be knocked too much - that is the nature of this forum, its make-up. The default position is to tolerate some criticism, while narrowing the boundaries and playing whack-a-mole - hence mostly poo-pooing it. But hey ho, hopefully some of it gets through...it's justified. |

This thread is intended to ask the devs if there is a way to donate MONEY to help company funding. If you want to donate something else, any good that the company can use like paper or something else I suggest you start your own thread. And with all the due respect, you know it was trollin |

Do you want to look funny with easy jokes and even easier sarcasm??? Be my guests. But I am pretty serious about asking for a donation system. It was my mistake to respond to trollers in the first place. Anyway, the only person I wanted to reply has already done so, so as for me this thread is closed. Keep on with your... whatever. |

OK so the sequel is an MMO. By not commenting he is confirming. Why the big secret, I think that will be a good direction to go. A combat fighter MMO with good FMs and realism is not out there now and yes I know about warthunder.
|
Not sure why it all has to be so secret squirrel all the time. Who are they afraid of. Aliens? Grumman?

Suits and beancounters have two natural enemies - the competitor and the customer. Pick one. ;)

I'll happily donate some time to give public relations and business development lessons. They sure could do with some.
The prospect of donating money to MG without accountability seems crazy. |

Some people would actually donate money to a company that has yet to fix what was purchased over a year ago? Wow.
Usually when I like to give my money away, its for a charity. You know, causes that actually need money to operate, and help othr people, animals, community, etc. When is MG going to apply for charity status? |
Well loki....here in the "states"....
All 1C would have to do? Simples....just put a "5 0" before the 1C and a "3" after it....and voila! |
Damn I have run out of popcorn...http://www.idealsohbet.com/forum/Smi...t/popcorm2.gif This thread is so ridiculous and awkward ! Way to go!
|
It did...sorta start out...a little awkward...;)
Salute.... |
What's wrong with making a donation?
Many of you have made donations to Rise of Flight when you bought an aircraft. Aircraft are free on Cliffs of Dover. Best Regards, MB_Avro |

You are fishing again Avro. |
I think the announcement hinges on the inhouse testing of the latest patch being stable after adding a few gameplay fixes. If successful the development will probably announce its future plans, if unsuccessful the development will probably fold. The possibility of donations effecting the bottom line enough would be minimal.
|
Getting back on topic. I would be happy to "donate" if they adopted a paid add-on model like ROF / DCS. I'm talking about "buying" full flyable planes instead of including them all in patches or sequel. God knows I hardly flew most of the planes in the original IL-2.

And are you now a self-appointed Moderator ;) Best Regards, MB_Avro |
kudos to those setting up a donation . . .
its good to donate to something you really believe in. lots of mis information here. the sequel isn't the mmo, just because black 6 can't comment on it, because he doesn't know or has been told about it but told he cannot make anything public. luthier / B6 said there would be battle of moscow as next series. this isn't the US white house where people can find out about black ops the day after, while previously it took years before people got their hands on classified mil ops . .. ROF facts: Forbes doesn't list ROF donations in its list of top global charities despite its vast popularity and joy that people get from playing it because all others (such as Red Cross, Catholic Charities) pale in comparison and make give them a bad impression. Blizzard, American Medical Association (AMA) and American Psychological Association (APA) are reluctant to count ROF is an addictive substance. AMA and APA run test but subjects become fans of ROF and bias the studies, Blizzard doesn't want to admit losing WOW millions to ROF. Chuck Norris facts won't state that in reality and in the ROF game engine (which reality is modeled after), Chuck Norris misses some roundhouse kicks to ROF's Camels and Fokkers because while he can attain flight via roundhouse helicopter kicks, his killing device is his "engine" (his foot) while the bi planes have separate engines / props to fly and machine guns to kill. |

I'm talking about on line play here. Buying yourself a better combat aircraft is just spoilt-child wanna-be-the-best-scorer no matter what it costs Daddy. Even though I bought many of the ROF planes, the on-line gravitation towards 'the best ones' put me off it and I wasn't going to be suckered into buying every single one they released just to keep up. In short, learn to fly what you've got or you'll end up splitting the on-line community. .....unless of course we have on-line mission builders who will stick to 'stock' aircraft of the last official patch. Then you guys can spend away. |
+1 @ klem
I also do not want sims to end up in that "wanna see stats and wanna be better than others" or "I buy more, so I am better" mentality. That is, why I do not want any total online stats. Servers can count each by each and a carreer mode can also count, but not globally presented. This would totally destroy the whole flight sim comunity, shouting at each other "You are not good enough to fly with us. Look at your stats....etc.". Paying for each plane in the manner of RoF? The essentual idea behind it could work. It is just a matter of how it is done. To topic: Donate on clod after all this? Spending money for new just to fix? Are you serious? And do you really think, that a donation of 20000 bucks helps? This is no money and the 1000 guys actually playing perhaps do not worth it. Donate will only motivate them to built up more insufficient stuff, instead of getting rehabilitated (right vocabulary?) ;) |

It's no good having your entire planeset being AI. In RoF, there are many other things you have to pay for, such as an Aldis gunsight. It's their chosen business model. I have both sims and both have strengths and weaknesses. Best Regards, MB_Avro |

While I like the system in RoF for buying planes ok, I dont care for the game itself. Also, it seems they are too much on making addons that generate money, yet fail to develop any kind of decent offline or co-op. Here, buy more streamers for your plane, and a new plane, and a compass! Yeah...all that is cool, but how about a real campaign, or some decent AI, or a real co-op mode? Nope...those dont make us money. That being said, value for what you get in both RoF and CLoD seem to be lacking, imo. |

Apart from the fact I really just have no interest in WWI, what you described is exactly what I thought would happen in RoF, if thats true or not I dont know. Also Im quite into history so when people are getting DLC such as super rare optical gunsights and they are just commen, then its a real turnoff. If IL2 goes down the DLC route as guess it will just be tough but I hope even if they feel they have too that accurate flight and damage models will be at the forefront rather than just cash driven sales. As for mission makers simply making online missions for the free aircraft (or cockpits, if you wanna nit pick) I think you will find that those will be the unpopulated servers. However with 100 or less players online at anyone time currently anyway, what difference would it make? I really hope the sequal attracts allot more players. I also hope it has more than one map! |

EDIT, I just went on the RoF forum and I am confused. Seems its not so free to play as you have to upgrade your demo? Can someone confirm this? Also the add ons are mostly rediculous. Pistols, scarves and junk. Imagine if I paid 8USD and put an extra cannon on my 109E4? - Adolf Golland style? Something super rare just being included for profit. Nah its just all wrong. On the instruments?! How can it be WWI if you kit your aircraft out with WWII instuments? Its such a turn off, I know I could just not buy them but knowing I was being out flown because someone had them would make me mad. - then I'd have to buy them....... Never gonna happen. Nice selection of aircraft, With the sequal maybe IL2 will have the same amount in allot less time too... I just counted: 32 in RoF? 24 in Clod if you count the Heart Breaker... Thats not bad since RoF was out two years before Clod... So if we get only another 9 or more in the sequal flyable then then Clod will have more aircraft. I just had an idea though if clod does go down the DLC route, just make us that dont like the model buy a bundle pack from the off. Twice ( or more?) the price for everything in that expansion, like "Ost Front", "Mediterranean and North Africa", "Pacific", etc, when it is released as downloadable content we get it automatically without charge. Then those who like to buy DLC can buy it a piece at a time and everyone who doesnt like that can just buy a bundle... That might make everyone happy.
Win for all! |

The game is free. That includes 2 free aircraft: Albatros DVa and Spad 13. You can also fly as a gunner online even if you don't own the aircraft that you are flying in. It's called a demo, but it's a demo that never expires. F R E E. Additional aircraft are currently at 50% discount. |

Wait whats this got to do with donations for clod? - Can a business accept donations? What about consumer rights and legalities? |

Essentially my paid for game was reduced to the demo pile with no reward, nor compensation! - essentially I paid for the development of those aircraft you love! For nothing! I also hear from a reliable source that the main stay of the German side is 30mph too slow (Albatross) making the game unrealistic and once an aircraft is released the FM/DM is NEVER modified! Little documentation exist to disprove or prove any FM/DM except pilot reports and multiplayer numbers in RoF have fallen! - Because the whole thing is monies orientated! Once agin IL2 promises the future... - Let us not forget RoF was out 2 YEARS before Clod! - and we all know what rhymes with flight?! (its an English word which come from the German word!) Anyway this would please most in IL2 (the realistic WWII combat flight sim!) I think: Quote:

Wow they revised a flight model in Nov 2011! Also was not the albatross one of the early aircraft in that title? Which just proves the rule, once its out the door 777 dont care?
