<sarcasm>Well now that the laws of the USA apply to the entire world this should not be a problem... </sarcasm>
The whole situation is odd, if I received classified Chinese documents and published them in the USA would I end up extradited to a Chinese court??!? (the answer is 'no') [EDIT] For the record: I don't care about the individual (I don't know Mr. Assange), but I do care about the rule of law. |
what i understund is that the guy is charged by swedish justice, so the uk want to extradite him there.
sweden has a record of giving charged people to the us if its wanted by the courts there, so the guy is afraid that if he is extradited to sweden, sweden can extradite him to the us where they detain people without charges in military prisions |

mr asenge is guilty of spreading horror that well could be photoshoped
the ancient mafia trick is to spread terror and then offer protection like that guy would be alive if he was a true whisleblower |

most information up till now publicized by wikileaks has proven to be correct and accurate. who knows, this might change in the future when they might be fed misinformation to deliberately discredit them, but doesnt seem to be that case so far. asange is simply a thorn in the side of those who are embarrassed by the leaks (usa mainly), and they are trying to shut him down by any means possible. if you cant be bothered making an effort to inform yourself a little via some of the more reliable investigative news source, just add more tin foil to your hat and pop another pill. the truth is out there, but you do actually have to go look for it. only posting the first weird thoughts that enter your head isnt a reliable alternative to finding truth or meaning in complex issues. |
theres no compass which points to the truth, maybe the heart?
why didnt he aired the knowledge the usa have on aliens? torotures horror blood, at least youll admit he had the same agenda than cnn to leave you in shock is the world really like that? probably but MAY be not |

its not because they received some valid information on a few topics, that they automatically have all information on everything else in the universe. |

I guess he must be pretty scared about going to Swedish jail to make up all that B.S. about political asylum, but since he has become well known he has always given the impression of being a show pony and a drama queen. Since when has Sweden aquired a reputation for abusing human rights??? One has to be sorry for his victim. It could take years before she is given justice |
Why dont the investigators just go to him... Problem solved?
|
its not swede, its the us; sweden has a reputation of extraditing people that seek assilum to goverments that commit abuses
http://www.hrw.org/news/2005/05/19/s...re-ban-us-help http://www.hrw.org/news/2005/05/31/s...ed-torture-ban http://www.hrw.org/news/2006/11/09/s...-cia-rendition sorry my english is limited , what i know is that the justice of sweden want to interrogate him about charges agains him for not using condom in an consented relation (no rape). |

To me his actions betray his guilt. Rather than show boating around giving speaches from windows he should face the charges against him. Simple as that |
His guilt is far from certain and until he is tried and found guilty he is innocent. From what I know a conviction is not likely but the spectre of extradition to the USA would be enough to scare anyone into holing up in an embassy.
Aside from that, an arrest warrant is not a charge in itself. The Swedes want to question him but I don't think they've charged him with rape yet. It's the threat of extradition that is the problem. I doubt it was pressure from the Swedes that caused the UK government to threaten invading the Ecuadoran embassy. Hood |
asange isnt concerned about what he has to face in sweden itself, the accusations are very minor and most were withdrawn already by the women who originally filed them (it is NOT a sexual assault issue)
the problem is that sweden has a very poor reputation for extraditing people to the usa on very minor and frivolous accusations/charges from american courts once asange is in sweden, even if the charges there are dismissed against him (as they most likely will be), they will still extradite him to the usa (sweden has refused to exclude that already). and that is where the vindictive "shoot the messenger" American legal system will make an example of him to dissuade anybody else ever sending papers to wissle blowing institutions please note that the usa itself has NEVER complied with any extradition requests of its own nationals to a 3e country EVER. yet they play hardball with other countries to get their own nationals extradited to the usa on all kinds of flimsy charges (brittain has sent some of its nationals, and so has sweden etc). for a "wanted" australian national to land in sweden on some flimsy legal pretext, its a quick plane ride to the american hell hole they got waiting for him |
The arrest warrant has apparently been withdrawn but no reason given. There is a still a charge of molestation being investigated.
Interesting. Hood |

http://justice4assange.com/US-Extradition.html#WSJA Especially the paragraph below. - Sweden has in the recent past violated international treaties in relation to surrendering foreign nationals into US custody to be interrogated and tortured (case of extraordinary rendition, Agiza v. Sweden at the European Court of Human Rights). Furthermore, Amnesty International and the UN Committee against Torture criticised Sweden because it rendered two refugees to the CIA who were then tortured under the Egyptian regime of Hosni Mubarak. (A documentary with the testimony of tortured refugees who had been granted asylum and then rendered to the CIA by Sweden was aired on Swedish television on 5 October 2011. |

The United States doesn't want him nor expressed any interest in him. And there is not a request to detain him by team USA. But who knows what tomorrow will bring. The means. the time and where and how no one will ever know they are secrets. Wow it does sucks to be him.

Regardless he will not be able to prove his innocence in any useful way until he stands before a court and faces the charges against him. Hopefully his groupies have not intimidated and harrased his victums until they have dropped their charges! That would be truely sad. Personally I just think that he is just a knobber and there are far more important things for the 'new' to be reporting about. |
I would not want to be him. Must be awful to have to live always looking over your shoulder not knowing if a drone just spotted you. But it's interesting to watch from the sidelines.

No comment. LOL
Ok so anyway really what are his choices? I don't think he has any. He's done. Living on borrowed time. If I were him I'd seriously be worried. He's in that same spot once occupied by the likes of Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi and Osama Bin Laden. Plus many others. Sometimes its just best to get your things in order now and prepare for what is coming. There's just simply nothing he or anyone can do. Once that ship sets sail it's done. Hopeless. In Russia they lay a pistol before you and leave the room and expect to hear the shot while waiting outside the door. The US expects you to buy your own and take care of it. All of it. If not it's coming and often times at the hands of a hellfire launched by someone half a world away that will be home for dinner that evening. There are some things in life you do not want happening and being wanted by the US is right up there with a hot poker in your rear end. I'm just sayin... |

He does not have to prove his innocence - the prosecution has to prove his guilt. His huge problem is that he has already been convicted by the court of public opinion. He seems like a knobber though - no argument there! Hood |
