Hi BlackSix

I can see some of the more abusive threads are starting to get to you. When I look at all your posts to find valuable information it's depressing to see those immature guys ranting at you. I understand their anger sometimes but they need to take a more mature approach. If all a poster can do is scream at you or even ask a question in a rude way just ignore them, they don't deserve your time. There are rules for how to make posts and you shouldn't have to worry about them, let the moderators do that.

Many (most?) of us understand you are here to communicate between 1C and the community. We may not be best pleased with progress but you aren't here to take abuse so ignore those posts and don't even dignify them with a reply.

I'm sure that the developers are doing their best to de-bug what must be an incredibly complex piece of software.
I am patient - I WANT CoD TO WORK - try and not and let the rude members amongst us affect your work/desire to perfect this masterpiece-in-progress!!

Its too bad it wont change either, you have a small vocal group on here that just enjoy bashing B6 anytime he posts, of course they make it ok by reply that its not meant to be mean to him... :rolleyes:

You have to ignore people like that B6, don't take it too personal because they are just ranting. You are doing a good job and most of us appreciate it, keep it coming and don't be discouraged!:)

i dont understand how people can complain about a videogame,

1) its summer .. go outside ..
2) blacksix is a messenger, and he is learning english .. not his fault that his main language isnt english, the world isnt made for english people only ..
(in case any american want to discuss that they made the world and blablabla, remember where ur ancestors came from in the first place )

3) if u think its all that easy to make a sim or even a normal game .. what u waiting for?

That's enough. IF there is one place in this world where people know where they come from it's here in the U.S. Why take a thread that's supposed to spread good will and wrap it in an insult? Arrogance isn't isolated to just Americans. Give it a rest.

Yep that was a gratuitous insult against Americans made for no apparent reason.

But it does kind of show the problems with internet forums like this one- any person can register, including someone whose maturity level is such that he wants to call himself 'StinkiePoop', and write whatever random, ill-considered insult he wants.

This is what the devs who attempt to communicate here are facing. I'm sure it is demoralizing.

Personally, since Il2 hasn't been Oleg's baby since 1946 and CoD is responsible to "investors and publishers", I'd be looking toward any "sequels" being based on the "Rise of Flight" model ( you want new planes, maps, etc. ? Each is going to COST you !!! ).
Oleg's "passion" is not shared by the "flinty-eyed guys" wearing green eye-shades in "Deep Carpet Country".

One thing is the message and other thing is the content of that message .... i´m very gratefull with the Fridays Updates (in fact, my dissapointment is from there ... one week from the "patch" and all the bug`s reports, and they come here and say "i have nothing to say" .... come on). The problem reside in how empty these messages are. Separate the wheat from the chaff please.

Good job gang, went from a nice message to B6 to showing him how mature some in this community can be... and that goes for every country represented...

As another member posted on another thread.... there should just be a locked Developer Thread for information updates and a seperate discussion thread

It´s funny how some people talk about mature and they keep clapping like seals to the devs, when one week after the patch´s release we still have not even a readme (yeah a couple of text lines) with the things that they supposedly fixed. If they can´t write in one week WHAT THEY DID ... i have serious doubts about their capacity to fix a complex flight sim ... but it seems that some ppl like to live in a fairy tale... thats so mature.

Regardless if BS is the messenger, he needs to realize that it is more than just passing on info from the Devs. It really is a total communications effort which has a lot more involved that just parroting info to the masses.

We are relying on updates on Fridays. It is not really sufficient to come here and say there is "nothing to report".

If 1C are guilty of anything - it is not understanding how to manage customer expectations! A good PR person will do just that. You can have the nicest person in the world offering updates, but there must be information of value. If I'm in a deli ordering a sandwich, I don't give a hoot about how pleasant the person behind the counter is if I don't get my order or don't get it correct or don't get it in a reasonable amount of time.

Cut the fluff, lets understand that it only takes a communication such as : We are still working on the latest corrections to the patch. While we know that there are still graphics anomalies and that the Hurricane will not start, please be assured that we will have a resolution as soon as possible. Please bear with us during these critical times. Thank-you. The Devs. or BlackSix whatever.

That is all it takes. But to just be absent completely after the last big mess is not acceptable to a client base at all.

It's not Black6's job to placate all of the malcontents, of whom I am one.
He does what he's asked to do. Luckily he also shows a desire to participate in this forum by responding to many posts, whether positively or negatively biased.

Kudos to B6. Thanks for the efforts. I know we sometimes appear to be a mob with pitchforks and fire. That would make any man facing us swallow hard and grit his teeth. Yet you still do your job.


(my editorial) I sometimes wonder if Luthier won't communicate because we appear like a pitchfork carrying horde.

As I recall, B6's original brief was only to act as liaison to the Russian community via Sukhoi. He began assisting us here entirely on his own initiative and continues to do so in his own free time. No matter how pissed one can get with the game and it's management, you've got to hand it to him for trying.

I feel sorry for the bloke too, however those are the joys of a customer service representative dealing with the general public.
No one should ever have to put up with abuse -be it the representative themselves, the entity they represent or other customers- but that doesn't mean it won't happen.
It's all in how you deal with those challenges presented to you as a representative of that entity.

BlackSix cares about us and this sim. I have no doubt.

I think Luthier does too, alot.

He's just struggling with getting the code right, and with figuring out how to best manage PR when the game is not working as well as it should and progress is coming very very slowly.

Don't confuse understanding and accepting that the devs have serious difficulties and that the community are being pleased with any forward progress with 'clapping like seals'. The devs appear to be under-resourced and yes, I'll say it, short on some aircraft knowledge, and they are trying hard to run fast enough to placate a vociferous community by releasing what they feel they can as soon as they can. They could delay another week to write a readme but as we're supposed to be beta testers some of us are happy to get on with testing the obvious while a readme is put together.

Remember these are beta patches for testing. They are not formal updates for gameplay. Its a shame more players don't do some actual testing and reporting instead of thinking of these betas as game updates. ATAG always go with the latest patches which gives us a chance to asses it in gameplay but accurate, qualified, feedback is what is required.

And sorry for going a little OT, please don't turn this into one of 'those' threads.

Just for your info... i keep reading these "its summer, go outside" kind of posts...

Its only summer in the northen hemisphere, (which is only HALF our planet...) and if you are stuck in Europe, especially northern europe, it has been one of the rainiest summers in decades so there is more time than ever to be spent infront of the computer...

Guys, Ilya can not spend time on forums now. He has a lot of work and problems. I remember that Oleg Maddox could find at this time, when everything was going well, but we are now in a completely different situation.
I really hope 1C will provide an additional person to communicate with you in the future. Now it is a real problem.

You are doing a top job Black Six under difficult circumstances.Thanks for making the effort and when some people vent their frustrations do not take it to heart .I am sure all want to see the problems resolved it is just a few need to let off steam now and again.

This kinda makes me feel worse Ilya cant post cus he cant spare 10 mins of his life and has problems. Plus we are now in a completely different situation? :confused: Just wish they would man up and be honest with us because there is a reason for this silence and it smells very fishy.

He said that they are not posting because they are busy trying to fix the game. That seems pretty obvious. What about it seems "fishy" to you?

What do you think they are lying about exactly? They know their sim is broken, they know they need to fix it before they sell another sim, we know they need to sell more to continue to keep the lights on...

He has lots of work and problems dont sound good does it.

Again, why does the account matter, maybe B6 should log into his account and post the Friday updates? Would that comfort you in some way?

It just seems to me he is not bothered about us thats why he hides away and gets some random dude to do his dirty work.

The 777 forums often go several weeks without an update from Jason.

If B6 was given decent, usefull information to post maybe, just maybe, some of the doubters would be less suspicious of MG and the future of CLoD.

Most games have Community Managers in some form or another, it is by no means hiding or such, I know people that do that for a living now...

Wags at DCS I believe he is a mission builder as well, and he is the Community Manager over there... seems similar doesnt it?

I would bet you that no matter what he put in his updates, at least a small percentage would still not be happy, or it would not be enough... this is a flight sim community... its the same in the DCS forums, and their stuff is running pretty good ATM.

People who are "suspicious" about the future of CoD are not going to be happy with anything B6 posts.

The future seems pretty obvious.

The fix CoD and we might get sequels.

The don't fix it and the game is over.

Better they work on the patch than on communication.

I'm not defending anything. I'm just pointing out the obvious. They fix the game or they (and we) are screwed. Period. No amount of communication (or constant whining) is going to change that.

It should be obvious to everyone that things aren't going well, and the devs are working their asses off to get it fixed, before the beancounters take their jobs away. They have far more important things to worry about, than our hurt feelings. If they can get the game engine working our hurt feelings will soon disappear, if not, they disappear.

It is obvious Chivas. I'm sure everyone here hopes that they can get the engine sorted and the problems resolved.

Maybe the statement from B6 might cause some of the 'what problem?', denialists on this forum to wake up, smell the coffee and stop accusing everyone who isn't wildly enthusiastic about how things have been going of being 'whingers'?
