Team Pacific's New Guinea/New Britain Map

Any news regarding the Team Pacific New Guinea/New Britain Map? I heard it was completed and testing finished... I am currently beginning a campaign that will need to use that map since the current New Guinea map doesn't cover the required area. Can anyone provide this map???

TIA

You PM'ed me at AAS and asked:

"Have you finished this map, and how can I get a copy? The forem messages just kind of stop and I never saw a final verdict on completion."

I though I explained the map is for an official release when I responded with the following:

The map is complete and thoroughly tested. Currently Daidolos has it and should be released soon. Personally I'm pushing for it.

Hey, that's cool :)

Pips 06-28-2012 07:00 AM

Excellent!

Lagarto 06-28-2012 07:16 AM

Great news! Does the map cover Rabaul?

Monguse 06-28-2012 12:07 PM

Here is a very old image of the map we used to test with.

http://www.warwingsart.com/TDWIP/NGNB/NGNB_Map_00.jpg

The map is 3:4 scale but flying from Kiriwina (CN,4) to New Ireland one way is around 2 hours. Dobodura (BQ,4) to Lae (BG,18) is roughly 1:30.

Lagarto 06-28-2012 12:38 PM

Beautiful! Thank you! :)
I'm guessing it won't be a big problem to release, after this one, a separate map covering Bougainville and Rabaul?

Monguse,
Yes you did. I didn't expect such a quick response. Thank you! Unfortunately, I didn't see your reply until after I left this message here. Anyway, good to see it's coming. I can't wait :-P:-P:-P

There is a Rabaul map in UP3.

The Rabaul map is fairly poor, however I'm currently reworking it to show the Rabaul area as it appeared in 1944. Thanks to Asheshouse it will also include Green Island for the allies. So far I've put close to two years research into it. I hope to have it complete in the not too distant future.

I hope we don't have to wait for the 4.12 release just to get our hands on this... How about a 4.11.2 release ;)

It's a big map... might take until 4.12 release to be done. I don't actually know... but that is a lot of territory to scour over and make sure that all of the airbases, scenery, pathing, etc. is working right.

I'm not actually part of the team but if I can help just let me know. I would certainly do what I can to help get this map released...

It's a great map.

You can get lost on it.

Beautiful map. Shame it doesn't have Port Moresby and the surrounding airfields for recreating the missions between Moresby and Lae & Salamaua by both the allies and Japanese forces.

An excellent map for some early model P-38s, if that's possible for TD to add?

fruitbat 10-01-2012 02:09 PM

Any news on whether this is going to make 4.12?

Can't wait to fly on this map:cool:

The new 3D model P-40's will fit in nicely into this map, could we possibly have new/updated P-38s too?

That is the one he is referring to. Not as extensive in area as the one referred to by Monguse but being created at 1:1 scale

Is there any word on the Team Pacific's New Guinea/New Britain Map? It's been a long time since I have seen anything about it...

I second "Mission to Rubaul". My version is grainy and dark, but worth watching.
