O very bad.

Its been often rumored that Sukhoi's poor safety record in the 70's and 80's was partly due to the old Soviet regimes habit of shooting down hijacked civilian planes and blaming it on systems failure or pilot error.

Seems unlikely this time though.

Looks like they located the jet on the side of a mountain, at this stage no survivors have been sited.

Its also worth pointing out the aircraft is half Italian, it was a Russian/Italian joint venture.

the Italian participation is just for the international marketing, I doubt they told them "fly it into a mountain, that'll help sales!!" :rolleyes:

The construction is completely Russian, whilst the engines are built by a Russian-French joint venture.

I saw the original posts earlier today and was pretty disgusted with the two on page one. Perhaps they would like to contact Sukhoi and the Indonesian authorities for the addresses of the deceased's families. Then they can mock them directly.

Theres always a human cost, and its not a subject to make fun of.
