Fanboys vs detractors
 

People are always hinting that the detractors in this forum are in the minority, so lets put it to the test:

• fanboys
• detractors

Please guys this is just for fun, no insults and other fun stuff we normally get up too :)
One plus with this poll is I made the results open so you can see who voted for what and adjust your ignore list accordingly :)
Soon all people will think just like you, cool hey ;)

Is there only black and white? How about grey?

Well, many of us are in between, so that really should be in the poll. Maybe two new mid alternatives like "Glass half full", "Glass half empty". I would have voted for "Glass half full" in that case,but had to go for fanboy now even though it felt no good. A fanboy in my eyes is a non thinking person that behaves like a 14 year old Nirvana fan: "All Curt did was perfect, and anyone that does not understand that is a moron... "

No lets keep it simple, a hard choice indeed to make but deep down in your heart you know, are you one of the naysayers or not. It will make the ignore list so easy and bring harmony to the world :)

A true naysayer would not be on this board anymore, quite obviously. The ones we have are here are dissapointed fanbois in disguise anyways.

If no third option then im a fan at heart, just disappointed so far.

Let’s be honest, if you have written something negative about the sim in say the last month you are a detractor. Really it is that simple.
If your blood boils whenever you read a negative comment regarding the sim you are a fanboy.
This is just an interesting experiment based on the continuous "detractors are in the minority" statements.
If they are then this thread will prove it once and for all

I've always been a fan of the Il2 series, but I have to admit that I am disapointed about the lack of progress with this series. We have had all sorts of promises about progress but very little subtance to back it up. If you look at what was advertized as minimum specs for this series that would have to be the joke of the year, so at this stage I have voted negative. I think that CoD will end up being far superior to anything else available but the time it is taking is frustrating both for the developers and for the supporters. I wish there were other options for this poll then you may have had a better response. (I'm really a disapointed fanboy).

I am bi-simsual, with occasional fanboy tendencies. Abstained from vote as no candidate really understood me.

But what if I haven't written something negative in the last month and my blood doesn't boil when someone else does? ;)

Not really. lol All this poll would indicate is whether the person voting feels there are more fanboys or detractors on the forum.... not whether they are a fanboy or a detractor.

I voted "detractors" as I feel there are far more of them on here than "Fanboys". By the same token, I think there are far, far more "Let's wait and see what happens but, personally, I really enjoy this game" types such as myself but the option wasn't there. :) Remember the title of this poll was "Which are the majority, fanboys or detractors?" and, from such a narrow sample choice...sure! The "detractors"are in the majority.... just not THE majority.

I started this CLOD adventure as a fanboy. I absolutely loved the extremely well done lighting, collors (except the colors of certain field textures), cockpits, water and reflection. The light interacted very well with the environment and created the most natural lighting engine I have seen in any flight sim. Oleg was a proffesional photographer and understand lighting. That's why the game created such nice natural lighting, reflections and colors.
This and the cockpits were the best parts of the sim.
The last patch absolutely murdered all that beauty and turned the game into a very forgetable murky grey mess. This last patch also introduced ctd's for the first time for me.

I'm a detractor now and it's going to take some serious changes in how the game looks to make me love this game again...............

............that or a flyable IAR-80/81 for BOM.:lol:

Big Fan but slowly and surely getting as miffed as I was at release. If not more so.

Ok Bob. To be honest no ones blood boils. Its just a passtime we have like fishing. You post - they post. And forget about it. End up in a bathroom pinching a loaf and pop out the smart phone and punch a few words out when the concentration level is off the charts. No biggie really. No need to get worked up.

I wouldn't label myself a "fanboy", but I'm not some troll either lookin to pick a fight but I can be critical about this sim.

How about I'm a fan and supporter of flight sims?

You would have been better off asking what do you consider yourself... otherwise all you have are peoples opinions about who is here..
