Do you Fly to Music?
As title states, if so what tunes do you fly too?
These are some I recommend trying if you do : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKeEuO8khRI Also look for music by :
They all along with Globus (video above) make epic music just right for flying. |
The only music I need is the beat of a db601/5 or BMW801 with MG 151/20's on vocals.
|
I have to agree that nothing beats the sound of heavy engines... however I used to play Charlie parker a lot back in the IL2 days, you know 'Bird'. The nervous nature of 40's bebop always makes me feel relaxed... The rattle and the chaos of that music fits the airbattle kind of thing quite well.
Oh, It's my hundredth post, I'm senior now... well, cheers. BTW trance will do the job too |

Everyone else here yearning for the most hardcore experience, the most ultra realistic engine sounds... and you play with "epic" music!! Well, I do respect all kind of weird choices ;) but i don´t play with music. BUT if I wanted to play with epic music I would probably do it with some of the Hans Zimmer movie sountracks i.e. The Rock, Crimson Tide, Backdraft, broken Arrow etz. |
When I'm not flying multiplayer (Got to hear my peeps on Teamspeak after all), I tend to fly to a bit of Martial Industrial Music. :)

Would remind me too much of this GuHey movie http://wfnx.com/blogs/sandbox/blog%2.../IronEagle.gif On that note, I also hate any youtube video of a WWII plane flying around with heavy metal music playing the the background |

Big +1 on both counts! |
When I play CLOD I like to listen to a pair of Jumos.
Tho, I have to admit. I like that Gnome N9 in the Nieuport 28 in Rise of Flight a lot more. I'm playing with headpnhones (Audio-Technica's ATH-A700X) and couldn't fly with music. You can't even hear the wing buffet. |

I don't listen to music in sims but I like to listen to some tunes when I fly in real life, got a nice ANR headset with bluetooth.

Thank You Droop Snoot for the Info of this kind of Musik. It´s a great Sound, for me.
With one word: I LOOOVE IT:):grin::) Thanks Towarisch |
i rarely listen to music whilst playing in general, but if, it´s usually old techno or newer hardstyle/jumpstyle tracks. though i like to throw in a little bit of nightwish every now and then.

I usually listen to period music when I'm flying. :D I fly a bit more in WWI than II.
A few Winamp/Shoutcast playlists/stations (may work in other players) 1920s & 1930s Popular Music and Jazz 1920s Radio Network 1940s UK Radio WWI Era Music (turn on shuffle) Jack Benny 1939 (turn on shuffle) |
unfortunately with cliffs of Dover, especially with the 109, i use the sound of the engine to know what RPM's I'm at, since i can't always be looking at the gauge, but when i don't have to worry about prop pitch, I listen to metal/classic rock/dubstep... anything else just doesn't seem to suit the aggressiveness of combat....
|
Oh in the aggressiveness of combat with rounds flying everywere ide rather something like this.

What a bunch of freaks we are!

Ave Maria is slightly cliche......
My combat song would be this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcmNlu4FX_E |
Unfortunately in extended dogfights this song starts playing in my head:

Ha!....that's the tune that should be playing when I'm in a dogfight, I'm the worst pilot in the world.
|
Peoples brains are all wired differently. I love classical music with videos of IL-2 but many wouldn't. Nothing wrong with that. I don't think I could concentrate enough with music on in the background but on the other hand while in a fight it may even help...I can see that. Like a drink might help. Alone up in the air I would be paying too much attention to "Mars" The Planets..and would probably get in trouble. :(

Well I do a start up of my Spitfire. Let her warm up. All things look fine. So far so good, I appear as competent as any one else. I slowly apply throttle to head down the runway but I start drifting right and barely miss the yellow runway marker. I rudder left, but just a bit to sharply causing my left wing to catch the ground and me to cartwheel. I was lucky this time. I took out a vehicle driving along side the runway. Cue laughtrack. After finally making an adequate takeoff I climb to a respectable height. RPMs are good. Temps are fine. I throttle back to about 80%, set my prop pitch to cruise and proceed to look for some huns in the sun. Halfway over the channel I spot them. Cockily I say to myself, "There they are." Small laugh from the laughtrack. I enter the field of combat to see several Ju 87s. "Ahhhhhh perfect. Low and slow." "Ha ha ha ha" from the crowd. Do they know something I don't? I circle behind them to their 4 o'clock position and go in for the kill. The adrenaline is pumping as I start diving toward my prey. Muah ha ha ha ha. They don't see me and I have them in my sites.... except I over persue and miss. Apparently they were much slower than I thought. tee hee from the laugh track. Well I circle around again so as not to lose too much speed. I was going to BnZ, but it would be too risky. As I double back I notice the escorts - 109s of course. Oh S%%T! Against my better judgement I think I can get a volley off on at least one of the 87s so I press onward.. On this pass I manage to hit one of the enemy, but the damage is superficial and I take a few rounds from the rear gunner. Nothing significant, but enough to cause me to swerve and bleed some energy. BAAAAH! Now I have one of the 109s in persuit so I roll onto my back and dive for speed, while pressing the throttle through the gate. I didn't expect to pull away from him, but I thought at least I'd be able to keep a safe distance. I'm gaining good speed and think about gaining some height. He's still about .88kms away. So I climb with speed as my friend, but with my luck I find my friend speed abandons me and the 109 catches me. I'm hoping I have more enegy than him and I can just out climb him until he falls away behind me. Nope. I bleed my energy fast. WTF? I'm panicing now because the 109 isn't showing signs of energy bleed, but I'm shuddering. Bangbangbangbang!!!!, come the ever so familiar sound of rounds striking my plane. The windshield is covered with oil. I've lost my bonnet. and the 109 climbs past me with little effort. I swear I saw him wave as he cruised by me. In frustration and consternation I look at my guages and controls only notice my prop pitch is still in cruise mode. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! Cue laugh track. Now whenever I'm ready to enter combat I hear this in the back of my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk_uVqAcGbE |
