Unable to play Demo; will I have the same issue in the full game?

Hi, I have a rather ancient computer; and seemingly as a result, I am unable to play the game. I am unable to play, in spite of the fact that I did download the vcredist_x86.exe file, as advised to those who cannot play the demo.

I am also wondering if I will have the same problems with the full game as well.

My computer specifications are:

Pentium(R)4 CPU 3.20GHz
1.00 GB of RAM

and my videocard is:

NVDIA GeForce 7300 LE

You should be fine, your specs are good enough...do you have vista? That could be the problem.

i play on vista 32bit just fine with a very similar computer. perhaps you should post more information on what you mean by "I am unable to play"

No, I don't have Vista.

The problem is that the Demo doesn't start. A lot of people have posted about this, and the solution was to download that program linked in the official Demo download page. But this didn't help the situation either.

Can no one help? "Call stack function" is what I keep getting, when I try to start the Demo, and it is pissing me off. And I downloaded the program that came with the Demo, and it doesn't help at all!

I had the same problem with the demo. The full game works fine though.

You sure? I don't want to have issues after the pick up the game, LOL!

I'm sure. :)

Demos are often of lesser quality than the final product.

LOL, 1 more question. Were you unable to play the Demo even after you downloaded the Miscrosoft Visual program that was recommended?

I really don't want to waste 40 bucks :(

Did you install all official updates for Windows? In my case it helped to increase stability of the full game. I'm always installing all the updates before trying anything else, assuming that the MS frameworks are to blame in the first place ;)

Yep, I always download all official Windows updates ASAP.

Then I'm afraid I can't help you :( My only guess is the graphics card/driver... but then again, why would the full game work for Magog when the demo didn't?

Sorry, no idea here.

Yes, the MS download made no difference. And I too think it was some sort of graphics problem. I have this kind of lousy GeForce GT 8500 with nvidia standard (crap) drivers...

If you don't want to waste $40 you can order it from cdwow.com. Much cheaper. :)

Ok, that makes me feel much better. I will go ahead and buy the game then. I think I am just going to use the Gamestar download store, since I don't want to wait longer to play! :)

Oops. I meant "GamersGate"!

I just got the game, and it works!

Buh bye, my life! :)
