Office/Pilot chair
 

Now that my centre stick is almost complete I am in desperate need of a new chair the one I have currently is too deep.

So what do you centre stick guys use?

I was getting worried scrolling through all the desks, made from wing parts covered in glass, with a price tag varying from 3 to 6 thousand Euros :o
Then I reached the chairs section and was relieved to find some sense prevailing - 1799.00 for a nice Boeing E3 AWACs seat, and just 1499.00 Euros for a B50 seat.

I couldnt see the prices, kind of glad... Probably would have had a heart attack.

@Uther: probably the best bet but I might try and make my own first.

casters removed from seat, wooden base for stick and some scrap wood blocks screwed to floor keep it in place

Nice, but looks a bit too deep still.

Yeah this is what I am going to do for the time being :D unfortunately if I remove the casters the chair has a bar sticking out the bottom :(

Hmm isn't that the seat the La5, la7 and spit mkIX 25lb boost pilots use in il2 1946 :P

Thats me just after I made a succesful bomb run!

So I guess it must be gathering dust in the corner of your room then or has the missies made you put it in the attic!!! :P ;)

Office chairs can be fitted with flat feet instead of rollers - about £2.50 a set iirc

Unfortunately I think my current chair would still be too high up :(

I am not doing this anymore because the stick is higher than the desk which means I have to sit further away from the monitor.

I will most likely build a roll out platform on the desk for side mounting.

After looking at how neat everything looks on your picture i must admit my desk is an ABSOLUTE MESS!!!

Amazingly cool stuff - if only they where a bit cheaper!

Myself I have a half meter long part of a J-35 (Saab Draken) full of bullet holes as a wall decoration... Salvaged from an aircraft used for a military shooting exercise. My wife can't understand why of course so it's in the storage building...
