water cannon episode 2: return of the shotgun
I'm surprised and happy that Mr. Tagami didn't get detained by the Oakland so-called "Peace Officers".
(vid at link) Prominent Oakland Developer Scares Off Occupy Vandals With Shotgun November 4, 2011 10:26 AM OAKLAND (KCBS) – One of Oakland’s landmark buildings was spared from major damage during the violence that followed Wednesday’s Occupy Oakland general strike, thanks to a man sentry who stood guard in the lobby. Prominent real estate developer Phil Tagami brought a shotgun to the ground floor of his offices in the historic Rotunda Building Wednesday night in order to ward off protesters who were trying to force their way inside. It worked. --snip-- Tagami acknowledges receiving some hate e-mail, but Twitter comments seems to be filled with praise for Tagami. He’s become something of a folk hero overnight, with some suggesting a run for mayor. Full story: http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/201...-with-shotgun/ |
meh.
different country. |
Good for Mr. Tagami.

One armed man kept a bunch of scumbags well away of his property, while here we sat down and said "oh well, insurances will pay for it".. apart for the idiotic idea of insurances paying for it (because, let's face it, their premiums in the UK have raised, since we ALL have to pay more via car, home and other insurances), tell me how a money refund can fix this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...on-attack.html There's no point in arguing about this anymore, truth is that most men here have been deprived of their sense of pride and courage to defend things they care for, delegating such responsibilities to others.. the few brave ones that try and fight the violence end up like this here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14500869 |
Apparently one can free a country without guns and violence (Ghandi).
Heck, my wife can make me bend backwards while paying her bills...without guns! |
"there's no point in arguing this here, but i'll throw in a few cack handed swipes and see if anyone wants to do it anyway"

Trolololol, Baron. Yeah, you Merikuns' are soooo tough. Hard as nails, shooting baby bears from 200m and ting. Rock ard! Here is an example of an 'emasculated' young Briton almost decapitating a Yank without a gun in the UFC's Team USA vs Team UK championship, which the Brits went on to easily win, battering, kicking, punching and strangling seven shades of the proverbial out of their 'rock ard' Yankee Cousins. Five of his shiny white teeth were smashed out lol, with four embedded in his gumshield. LMAO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnQXYcaKFvA The Yanks got utterly raped in the series, and consistently do in amateur boxing competitions. I hate UFC (boxing FTW) but I have to say I lol'd hard. We still love ya though, don't get yer pretty pink panties in a bunch. Bring that gun next time, you'll need it. Another 'emasculated' softie, Carl Froch. Taking out Jermaine Taylor in his own back yard. They don't fare so well without their guns, though.....wonder why that is? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYcGdQdoUbc Alright Hatton got battered but I never rated him anyway, good bloke though. I hate Mayweather but he is a great defensive boxer. Total numpty though lol. Amir Khan still doing well. |
The above post only proves the folks on both sides of the Atlantic can be morons. Let's get into a ring a beat each other to a pulp. To prove what exactly?

Its the second time baron has effectively called Britain a nation of wusses because we don't use guns (which of course instantaneously make one really 'hard'...like goatee beards, too lawl.) I merely illustrated why this is not necessarily the case and played along with his troll for a laugh. Should have known someone would take it seriously though. Agree with El though that UFC is moronic, as is 'cage fighting' but boxing has some nobility about it and is a great sport.....if regulated properly etc. Teaches self discipline as many other martial arts do......a good thing. Oh and I'm 6'3 mate. No Napoleon syndrome here, sorry. Never mind eh. :) |

The majority of burglaries in the UK and probably the US too are committed by people with drug addictions, people who are so desperate for their fix nothing will deter them. The subject was boring the first time and is more tiresome the second. Comprehensive crime figures and per capita murder rates were provided in that thread by others, which prove that gun ownership does not prevent or mitigate crime. In fact, the more guns present in a country...the higher the homicide rate (shock, horror) . A far higher police murder rate, too. People need guns in the US because they live in a climate of fear. Everyone else has a gun....woah I need one too. A bigger one. Lets not forget that a legal gun owner with no previous is a 'law abiding good citizen', till he/she decides to shoot someone. Sad times when you are so scared for your safety and so terrified you feel you can't go out at night without one. End. Of. Story. Not interested in this debate as it does not affect me. The vast majority of British people do not want guns, or want increased access or availability, full stop. Other countries can do what they want, up to them and I'm happy for em. Seems groups like the Brady campaign aren't so keen. 83,000 people have been shot this year so far in the States, with 175 people shot today alone. The death toll is typically around the 12,000 a year mark. That's not counting the many thousands more maimed and incapacitated for life.....many of them children in terrible accidents. Incredible. Like I say, let em get on with it....Fair dinkum. Have fun. :) |

What you don't seem (or want) to understand is that thousands of people have guns here and you can still get a license, it's a matter of culture. Quote:

You can also fill a few shotgun shells with rocksalt and shoot them. At the time of the shooting they wouldn't know what was going down, but would they scatter fast. Rocksalt won't kill anyone, but it may make them wish they were dead for a few days. LOL They have interviewed rioters many times, and they don't even know why they are making riots. Many intereviews with the stupid rioters has revealed they don't know what they are doing, except joining into the riots because it seems like a good idea. All those rioters put in jail for destroying property should face lawsuits for damages to property and persons. Just slap big old judgments against the lot of them. Ruin their credit and give them jail time. The only reason they riot is because there will be no recourse. The politicians don't want that, they just want them to go away quietly. It is sad for UK, not having the right to bear arms. There will a come a day UK will have real regrets about that. The problems haven't even started in Europe, this summer of riots is the tip of the iceberg. |
nearmiss, it's a common misconception, the UK citizen haven't been deprived of the right to bear arms, you can still have bolt action rifles, shotguns and semiauto 22s, I think it's more of a case of being deprived of common sense..
It's a good ol' Empire thing to show that things can be done their way and be right (take the driving on the other side for instance), especially when they're blatantly unorthodox. Truth is that people live a bit in denial here, and even when things affect them personally, they sit and wonder why nobody came to the rescue.. |
why do people find driving on the right so weird?...it just seems sensible that as most people are right handed that the natural driving style of on hand on the wheel and the gear shift leaves the dominant (right) hand in charge of actually steering the vehicle......it's also pretty usefull for pointing your gun hand out the window while doing a drive by

Yet, you could read and view interviews with people that were not leaving. Many died as a result. Sadly, there were over 300 school buses sitting in a compound that could have been used to evacuate many who did not have adequate transport. The mayor neglected to take that action. Those buses were still in the compound when the storm hit. One commentator put it very bluntly. The government has taken the role of the mighty protector and defender for so long thousands of people are sitting and waiting for the government to do something about taking care of them while the storm is headed their way. It's not about country, it's about citizens of any country that have become too dependent upon government for the most basic things. Common senses have departed many individuals as a result, and evidently intelligence and self-reliance are gone as well. |

I don't appreciate having aspersions cast upon my intelligence with your derogatory 'Genius' remark, nor being (inaccurately) called a 'hysterical wuss', which is laughable. Stop it. This 'Genius' did however look at the facts, and found that 'Korea Town' in LA was massively looted and damaged, despite residents banding together with an arsenal of weapons. I also found that truckloads of shops were looted whether the owner was armed or not. Multiple incidents were recorded of the armed Koreans actually shooting at each other in the confusion, which can very easily happen even amongst trained soldiers not to mention civvies....So your confidence in 'Charles Bronson' is sadly misplaced. A young girl named Latasha Harlins was also killed by a Korean shop owner, who had nothing to do with the looting at all. Others were injured. If shoot outs at the 'OK Corall' are your thing, great. I'd argue that if you live in a society were you feel it is necessary to buy an assault rifle to defend yourself, then there is something badly wrong with that society, something that the proliferation and escalation of gun ownership will not and cannot remedy. The likelihood of my home being invaded by an armed gunman in the UK is probably comparable with being struck by lightning*, twice. Extremely remote. I have no need for a gun, I am glad to live in a society where* I do not need guns, I don't want to own a gun. The majority of the UK do not want more guns. In fact, they want less. The fact that you are apparently not even aware of the causal link between drug abuse and crimes against property worldwide, (never mind the UK)....Speaks volumes; this is common knowledge, and empirically proven and demonstrable. What on earth does where I live/was born have to do with anything? More confused nonsense. Newcastle is not even in the top 10 (or twenty I believe) burglary 'hotspots' in the UK. Places like Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, inner city London are. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/p...hot-spots.html 'Narrow views'?! Not sure what you are on about, but nothing new there. Yes, its a matter of culture. I don't want a Gun culture in the UK, or kids growing up in one, simple as that. Nor do I want to see them outlawed entirely, they have their purposes for 'jobs of work' like farming, maybe sports and that's fine. I don't however want every Tom dick and harry owning one. Nor does anyone else. I have lived in the UK all my life, a lot longer than you.....and your views are a distinct minority. Deal with it, or find somewhere more to your taste if it makes you so unhappy. ;) @ Nearmiss. Sorry pal but you could not be more wrong if you tried. We'll stick with our ways, thanks a bunch. Other countries can do their thing and that's great. We'll do ours. With the greatest of respect, I'll take my countries per capita murder rate over the US record in particular, anytime. ;) Finito. |

I presume that either option is evidence that citiznes of the UK have not exercised their own judgment or their right to vote? Please explain, without references to "sheep" etc as that is just insulting. Quote:
http://www.2pass.co.uk/goodluck.htm There is a thing called the "Blitz spirit" that occurs quite often. After the riots in fact. It means that we help each other in times of need. I'm not really sure when exactly we need to be rescued. My own view about living in denial is we deny that we help others too much rather than helping our own. We're probably going to have to pay a lot to bail out the Eurozone. Quote:
What is amazing is the style of disagreement. Those in the UK are saying "We don't want guns but if you want them in your country/culture that's fine". Those not of this country (or culture in Stern's case) are saying "Without guns you are wusses, your free will has been eroded and you're all going to pay for it." Is there any chance of leaving it at that? Hood ps It is interesting that "clever" and sly, inflammatory insults are passing unmoderated. |

I don't know the lottery numbers for sure, but with the huge ethnic and religious factions that are growing in population and eventual power in the UK and Europe. I'm comfortable with my prognostication. So, like Tree_UK prognostications... we'll have to wait and see won't we? In the meanwhile, we will just have to discuss things without getting all torqued about someone else's views. |

:rolleyes:LOL  Err, you PM'd me. I responded to your threatening PM. I don't want you PM'ing me, I have no interest in your buffoonery. Like many here, I do not like you one bit, you are a thoroughly unlikeable person. I'm surprised you even have the cheek to try and pick up conversations with me I made no attempt to converse with you initially, you posted to me on page 2. LOL! I'm surprised you have the cheek to write that. I took you off ignore which you have been on for weeks to see if you were capable of being decent for 5 mins. Evidently not, and tbh nothing you write is worth reading anyway; no offence of course but your 'input' (when you are not being insulting and rude to people, which is rarely) is a bit lacking in the common sense and 'truth' department. Yeah, it's all because of drugs. And the moon is made of cheese too. Didn't say that at all, just a large proportion which is factually true. Might want to brush up on your English comprehension. Judging from your unintentionally hilarious comments in the 'Hitler died in Argentina' thread, it does not surprise me that you think the moon is made of cheese, and probably home to Elvis too. Thanks for that info and the laugh out loud moments, does put your zany BoB theories in context, too. Now back on ignore......What a bore. Cheerio. |
