Toryu! (56k warning: large pics)

So I'm curious... what do you think about this plane (type)?

Nice looking, love twin-engined AC, Bf-110, P-38, Beaufighter, Mosquito, etc.

IceFire 10-28-2011 08:49 PM

:D

Sita 10-28-2011 09:21 PM

this is a hint? :D

Romanator21 10-29-2011 01:30 AM

That is one sexy plane! Do want!

EJGr.Ost_Caspar 10-29-2011 10:50 AM

I just felt, that I get more and more addicted to its shapes and IMHO among all the twin engine (heavy) fighter constructions it is the best looking - beside P-38!

And it was a successfull design too. Strangely enough, that it is rather lesser known in the public (but everyone knows, what a Zero is). :)

MrBaato 10-29-2011 12:26 PM

Just open a 4.12 development topic and show us the cockpits ;)

EJGr.Ost_Caspar 10-29-2011 03:56 PM

Hey! I'm here in my private clothes! :P

Feathered_IV 10-30-2011 05:33 AM

Such a beautiful and much needed aircraft. Is it open-day at TD?

Fergal69 10-30-2011 07:15 AM

Is this a Japanese copy of the ME210/410?

I know the japanes had the plans given to them for the ME262 & they made their own, better, version.

Korn 10-30-2011 08:35 AM

I always loved this plane, absolutely lovely shape, imo the best looking two engined fighter of WW2.

so this is a request? ;)

Silverback 10-30-2011 09:33 AM

Send it, we can use another IJA twin.

Juri_JS 10-30-2011 11:01 AM

Kashiide is working on the Ki-45. I hope Caspar will soon tell us if it will be in 4.11 or 4.12.

Zorin 10-30-2011 03:34 PM

I have said it before and I will say it again. Setup a paypal account -> raise funds -> hire a 3D modeler -> Put it in the game.

Simple as that.

1000 donors x 5$ = 5000$ = costs for reference material + 3D model + cockpit

Daniël 10-31-2011 02:30 PM

It looks like it has some kind of Schräge Musik!

It does on some models! The Japanese had a couple of aircraft including the Ki-45, Ki-46 and the J1N (which had upwards and downward firing cannons).

EJGr.Ost_Caspar 11-01-2011 08:01 AM

...which were 20mm cannons, contrary to i.e. Bf110.

_1SMV_Gitano 11-01-2011 08:18 AM

Cannos used on Schräge Musik systems were MG/FF or MG151/20 i.e. 20 mm. The Bf-110 had the option to mount Mk108 (30 mm) on the nose.

csThor 11-01-2011 08:48 AM

Actually the Luftwaffe envisioned the use of the Mk 108 as Schräge Musik for sheer hitting power, but pilots found the weapon too clumsy trajectory-wise and prefered the MG 151/20 for this role.

Sita 11-01-2011 09:38 AM

so many members of the DT in one Topic!!!

do not hurt us! show us renders!!!)))

pleeeeease!!!!!!)

EJGr.Ost_Caspar 11-01-2011 09:54 AM

Ah thanks for the correction, CsThor... I always though, it was a 30mm hammer in the 110. Never tried it though.

@Sita: thats not up to us (I mean us two here now). It was meant as a private posting of interest. Really! :)

Sita 11-01-2011 10:52 AM

i heard different rumor )

Juri_JS 11-01-2011 10:54 AM

The Ki-45 is the plane I was missing most in Pacific Fighter, the second is the Ki-44.

I wonder if there are plans to add the Ki-44 by Japancat? I hope one of the DT members here can comment on that.

Do a Google search and you might find some interesting images ;)

EJGr.Ost_Caspar 11-01-2011 01:56 PM

That Kashiide is working on the Ki-45 is no secret (i.e. http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=14133.0).
And that he is working with support of us, is also no secret.

Generally no place for rumors.

Same with JP... he is/was working on the Ki-44 for a long time.
And he is working with support of us.

Only really new thing maybe is, that Kashiide was welcomed as a full core member of Team Daidalos meanwhile, because he did a really great job.

IceFire 11-01-2011 09:09 PM

He did an outstanding job!
