Uh what did I miss?

i saw a word used in one of his last post that might upset some ( mainly 5 year olds ) so probably that tbh , dont take much these days hey lol

bring him back ASAP.

Tree is young at heart, and the young always test the limits.

This sucks, he's sticks to what he thinks and its got him in trouble before but fair play to him for doing that!

Hopefully it only a two week ban and he will be back annoying the ignorant among us (yes okay, I used to be one) if he has a lifetime ban then hopefully the mods will screw there heads back on and realize what a TOOL they have been and undo it.

Sure, ban him for a word that I had to google translate to understand. But I can't see the balance in letting bullies like AoA go unattended.
Well, actually the message is clear.

Tree has been pushing his luck for a long time IMHO ... but as with anyone who constantly skates on thin ice he was bound to go down sometime.

For all those calling for his return, its just like the crowd at a circus calling for the return of a clown, just to see what antics he would get up to next.

Forget about him, this kind of underdog hero worship is what he feeds off, and if he gets back it will be the same old sad Tree story.

lets use this opportunity to move on and forget about him once and for all.

Well, it's a given..that this is 1C's site and COD is their game....
IMHO both could stand some patching...

makes me laugh , Tree calls someone a "pregnant fish" ( unless i missed some other better words ) yet others think that putting a * in the word means they can call someone anything they like , as if we dont know whay they actually mean lol

The fault of this endless nonsense rant topics are the moderators. The should stop rant topics much earlier and stop personal attacks before the happend!

I see people posting again and again the same rants agains 1c devs from CloD or against other forum user, who are not sharing the same point of view from the SIM or whatever. This is not helping in anyway, it is just pissing people off. Results in a BAN.

Dont get me rong, it is frustrating to see how our SIM is developed and saled to us, no doubt about it! The offical patch release was a step back for me too, for example, I never had launcher.exe crashes before, but now I have it, I can send Luthier the hole day crash files, until his box is full!

But it should not happend that WE the forum user and customers start to run against ourselfs, because the SIM is a mess right now. The flightsim community is anyway a small one if you want, and such rants should be avoided. Postings of your concerns or bugs from the SIM, in a manner way, will be never a problem, but keep it clean! And I guess Luthier and his team is not spending any time in one of the rant topics here, the BUG REPORT thread, and the sended crash files are importent now!

Soo in this case, someone runs against forum rules over and over again, there is the need for a punishment, thats how it is. If someone dosent have control over hisself, then he needs help from someone else (moderators)!

The way I see it is that everyone has the right to defend themselves in their own home, this is 1C's home and Tree is nothing more than a vicious attacker.

There are countless other flight sim related forums where 1C have no influence that people can trash talk this sim all they want, quite frankly I am amazed at how much trashing does get tollerated in this forum.

Well, it's not the first time he gets banned so he will be back. Even though he often wanders over the edge I like him in some way. There are others that are a lot worse that deserve life time bans, but not Tree in my book. Some time on the bench will have him ready for action in a week or two ;) Then in a few more weeks he will get banned again and the ever evolving circle of life continues like it always has :)

I suppose he was banned for the use of the word t..t against Ace of Aces. It's not a matter of opinion, it's more simply a matter of no swear words are allowed.

This doesn't change the fact that I agreed with him on that specific stance. :rolleyes:

And MODS, those words are hidden, its needs people with quite some intelligence and an adult nature to work out what they mean....If Im banned for that so be it, Its a disgrace that some people remain here who are just as bad or even worse than the people you ban..its pathectic..they are more insulting, they troll more and abuse people carefully right under your noses yet they remain

However, others were "allowed" to agitate and inflame, without "moderation"...

The credibility of this forum is the single casualty, IMHO.

you know, if it was just one to complain about modding here I'd understand, but because there's several of us frequent users that reckon the situation is a bit shambolic, maybe it's about time that some mods decide to take a step back and either resign their role (since some of us seem to be here more than them anyway!) or re-think some of the modding strategies (I have been a mod myself so I understand all the implications and issues, believe me).

Mine is just a suggestion, but it's the most mature thing to do, especially in a forum where we continuously see this kinda things happening. It's a true shame.

Just by reading this thread the mods know exactly who really is agitating, inflaming and internet bullying.

Tree is a wind up merchant of the highest order, but he has always had my respect because at least he has the courage of his convictions, and will not prostrate himself, couch supine for fear of being 'banned'. I've never liked brown nosers (or snitches for that matter), and I never will.

What he said was 'wrong', according to forum rules.....but nonetheless like many others I completely agreed with him. He just wrote something which probably 99% of people were thinking, and used a word that in Britain is so inconsequentially inoffensive, it could be said in an episode of 'Teletubbies' and no one would bat an eyelid.

That aside, last time this came up I already said I never liked him much. But he probably didn't like me much either and the same pattern applies to many of us. This doesn't mean people need to be locked out for little things like that.

As for the quality of moderation on here. Usually they attempt to do a good job but openly attacking wrongdoes all the time in those legendary "red posts" is showing just how far away they really are from good moderation. Very far.
It's not an easy job and there are outlines from the 1c forum staff that dictate some of the behavior but it's usually the "new" internet users who bring havoc. They degraded into a state of being little whiny girls with no backbone at all. A state that's probably worse than being a troll actually - because it's neither smart nor funny.
