Take off
Hi guys I'm trying to take off with rich mixture but the engine is not developing enough power. It seems I have to use lean mixture but it's strange to me. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks Ciao |

Mate being a winner in this instance is being bored as hell in front of my computer with nothing else to do (no money) right now.. Actually wait..... I had money but it decides to throw itself at my Bike! ~S~ |
Pitch is fine and engine warmed up completely. You really keep the mixture reach (lever full back) and take off?
I don't even reach the 2.100 rpm Leaning the mixture rpm goes immediately up and take off... |
...which...plane...?

Hurricane

I have been testing the Hurri myself and notice it seems to take a long run to get off the ground.

But don't forget to move the throttle forward ;-) |
I don't know it seems strange I tried many times but the only way is to have a lean mixture. But if anybody else have this problem I'm doing something wrong...
|
okay, it might be possible that this is another case of "Hey, the auto-rich mixture setting is actually 'lever down'".
This could become the new Strg+F1 feature  |
No I know that rich is lever down. I read somewhere that in reality pilots move the throttle together with the mixture. In this case they lean also the mixture but this is in contradiction with what everyone else is saying: that rich mixture has to be kept... I don't know...

On take-offs I haven't yet tried lowering the flaps at all, though. Charlo |
