PSN SIM/Cockpit/HUD off games
 

Greetings all.
Lately I, McQ and theMeistor have played some great matches in sim with cockpit view only and hud off.
We have mostly been playing dogfights, but also TB and CTA.
I find these settings to add to the experience, making the game more challenging and even greater fun.
Hopefully there are some more Boppers out there who are up to join us in this.
SIGN UP and take BoP to a higher level ;-)

I like fly with cockpit view. I add, but notified when it is with these rules ;) . The "problem" is with german planes... , well, Cold War 1945... Allied vs Russians :rolleyes:. I hope with birds of steel all planes have cockpits

As it is cockpit, we dont fly the Axis.
We use the map, but if requested, we could also do it without.

It's great fun Hicks. Takes the experience to a new level. Especially the firing bit in close dogfights. We usually do the P51B. It has the best visuality. Best plane to start with anyhow in my opinion.

We had some real good dogfights and TB last night. Me, McQ, TheMeistor and A000000000000123 all jumped in Mustangs in different teams, B´s vs D5 and finally a 20 min dogfight after the old man (McQ) had to go to bed ;-)

Hopefully there will be some more up for this in the weekend.

With your permision I would like to join on this.
Against you guy's I'm more like a target drone, but I still prefer sim.

Yeah Olife. Last night I played a few games with Kav, Vdomini and Burnator and it was fun. Only cockpit is a great style of play. More fun and realistic, you have to stick to the tail of the enemy to keep him and the deflection shot is the difference between life and death.

Those last TB´s was really great fun, tight and good matches.
Sorry to say Olife, but I managed to shoot you down twice with a halfway darkened canopy, and that was among the greatest moments of yesterday ;-)

Another great fight night
 

Last night we had several great games.

I guess we all had a challenge in flying the Spits in cockpit, but damn that was fun. After changing to P-51´s the score rate really grew, and the fighting got more intense.
Great to have some more newcomers with us, thanks Tigwen, Moebius and "whatever the last guys ID was"

spit in cockpit view is really hard but a great challenge,even if i flown with it like a potatoe with a cokpit,i was really ridiculous but was fun and count with me for the next spit round!
yes very often with the p51,in the 2 vs 2 tb it was like 4 furious dogs who want catch theirs tails...!!!great fun and sore for the thumbs!!!but i like it!!!...hip!hip!hip!hourrrrra!!!!!atchi!atchic!atc hic!ayaya!!!(like we say in the french feast when we are happy and exited like a kids!!!)

Serious fun last night, even for a sim beginner like me.

Quite a sight to see you ace's fly wingman style while my tail is shot to pieces :grin:

Towards the end I think got in some hits with stray bullets, ha ha.
Most shoot opportunities ended up in a spin.
That P51 is not very forgiving for sure.
Still a delight to see how the pro's handle this bird.

Hope to get air time tonight and shot down some more ;)

Thanks for the great games last night! I was amazed to see the number of cockpit flyers in their P-51s, all at very high standards. Makes me very happy to see the BOP community so alive and well, taking up new challenges.

You and I could make are own club; call it P-51 purest target drone club. Honestly I'm more a realistic gamer, however I do enjoy flying/being de target with these guy see in the sky

I have logged many Sims trainning hours and done very well. I try to proccess what the plane is doing and how it should reacting using the elevators and ailerons speed etc. but you guys are no computer sims. and I need to learn how you guys play. Yes it does get VERY frustrating playing, But the fact is IT'S A GAME. the main thing is to have fun in the proccess and not let the very few spoil a great game. I am honored when friends invite, so don't think you guys are getting read of me so easily specially when their are people like you guys and the attitude you have towards flying and this game. You are all knights of the sky and play with honor. That is the only reason why I return to get my a-- kicked and maybe one day I can return that favor(LOL)So see you knights of the air in the virtual sky ( cockpit view only please )

Played few quick games with KAV this morning(1:00am)just got off work and getting ready for bed. check on some stuff on my PSN. Invite pops up, so
I go. We play, bam I'm down. Bamm bamm again down. a typical day in my cockpit. I get lucky and get a kill. At one point I was getting ready to be on his six and shot him down it was going to be a nice kill. ....... You have been sighed off PSN! What, unfair! The virtual gods must hate me. Then the next game KAV cheated!!! YES he did. He is worse then a non bailer. That's right he I'll be nice snd let you shot me down. He was flying around doing rolls taking it easy and their is no doubt in my mind he let me shoot him down why 18 to 1 I juess? KAV thanks for the game and helping me fly better see you in virtual sky . Now were do we report people like that always willing to help. Thnx KAV.

Flying the Spit in cockpit is a challenging task.
The limited viewrange makes it a challenge to spot the enemy and to keep on his six.
Sometimes you just manouevered so I lost you and went in the opposite direction. Bank left, barrelroll back and left again and woops where the hell is he :mad:
You fly very good mate, and the challenge of spotting the enemy is common to us all.

KAV I apologize for the post I know you are not a cheat and after re-reading my post I could understand how it could come across that way so I apologize That wasn't my entent, as the videos go "AWESOME" that's labor of love and great talent thanks for the vid post. my family can get a big kick out of it and when they ask who this U2RATTLEHUM is, I just till them it some random player who is still learning to fly. Though that might not work sence they know I a big U2 fan keep those vids coming

Dynamic Duo of Dreadful Drones... That's us :grin:

This mode is really fun and at it's best with many players. Then it don't hurt the balance of the teams so much even if there's a drone or two in the air ;)

I learn a lot from each session.
Even starting to enjoy the P51.
Thankful for letting us newcomers in the mix.

The only problem I have flying with you and the others like MAC, McQ, and OLIFE is the time difference and work( 3:00pm-11:00pm) to me this is a game that has become a community of friends so I will treat you as one banter is applied. Yes It is tough flying by those rules but that's what make this a great game. Yes I do check the board and see who is host. Sorry I missed your games I believe I was another game. please post me times you guys are usually on. It's tough being in Ca. Funny majority I play with are over seas need to brush up on my Dutch and maybe learn french now

Olife I'll buy an issue of Capt. BOP The quality is differently top notch. Stick figures is the extent of my drawing. My sister is the pro in my family a cartoonist. All I got is a red guitar three chords and the truth.

KAV sorry missed the match had to go into work I will try to be on tonight. I believe you are 11hrs into the future and I'm stuck in the past. I will try to be on @11pm my time 10am yours depending how work goes. By the way had a great sims match the other night had 9kills in one match. 6player Main reason I did will; you, meistor, McQ, olife, weren't there and we used virtual view. story would have been deferent if you aces were there and the reason I did well is because of you guys thanks. You are all great players and to become the best you have to work with the best. Again thanks for making this game for what it is. hope we can recruit more players here I think they were all new to sims. You guys would have been proud of them all

the imaginary hero of this cartoon is a free french pilot,called MARCEL BOP (bop for birds of prey ,of course!),i haven't choice a french because i'm chauvinist but for 2 reasons :
1- my bad english can add a touch of realistic for the text LOOOL!!(yes i try to do my best to do it in english language because i know the majority of the guys in this forum have english for first language and i think by respect i must do it,i try to take care to write as good as i can but i'm sure there will have grammar errors,exuse me for it my friends ,i'm sorry)

2- in fact i want to be as loyal as i can with the il2 sturmovik bop video game war theaters ,and i would like to do some sequels of this cartoon talk about the il2 bop war theaters,but i want have the same hero in all the sequels,and guess who fight in the battle of britain ,east front ,over germany during ww2... : the frenchies,(the only stranger guys who fight in russian air force)and in this game there is a big part talk about east front so a nice way to do a sequel talk about east front with the same hero who fight over england or germany too!...a sort of BUCK DANNY but in frog eater version!!lol!!...by nessecity!

Greetings all.

This morning I had the pleasure of dogfighting U2, Opalthree and reimjag in this mode.
Great fun and it got even greater, with settings as evening and rain.
As Opalthree put, submarine hunting, as we dove under, through and over the cloud cover, what a cracking chase.....
After that it was Sicily at night, crap that cockpit is dark at night.. :confused:

KAV those were great games and trying to find everyone in/out of the clouds was even more challenging but I was able to get a kill or two though computer counted it as crash put that's o.k. The best one for me was I got on your six got you smoking then I lost you in a turn two sec. Later you were on mine and shot me down. I think I'm more fascinated with the skills of the player then the just getting shot down. See you in the virtual sky.
