Stuka Angriff! - Shipping attack in The Channel. Yet another video by me...
Hi again,
http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/mKZsvTPEl3s/default.jpg (Click image for vid) I have been having immense fun and a pretty intense time flying the Stuka lately, so I thought I'd make yet another video... - Of course we all know that this sim is total crap, absolutely unplayable, the colours and landscape are all wrong, etc, etc, but still I thought I would give the Stuka a go... ;) And boy, have I had fun! - Once I found out how not to overheat the engine, it actually flies pretty well. Ok, it is a big, lumbering crate, but also very docile and well-behaved. Take-off and landings are a breeze. I find the dive-bombing automation exceptionally well-modelled and have really had some of my most exciting flight-simming moments ever while hurtling Earthwards in this monster of a plane! It must have been absolutely terrifying in real life. Those Stuka crew had balls of steel, that's for sure. Anyway, enjoy. Comments always very welcome! ---------- Here are my previous CoD movies: http://www.youtube.com/user/wwwDOTda...1CBC682E928D2A http://i4.ytimg.com/vi/G90yZNZtU_I/default.jpghttp://i4.ytimg.com/vi/wZLZiYGiCds/default.jpghttp://i4.ytimg.com/vi/s73zSerW6-Y/default.jpghttp://i1.ytimg.com/vi/xv4NBoj7Afg/default.jpghttp://i1.ytimg.com/vi/04atCxtxVug/default.jpghttp://i2.ytimg.com/vi/5YY88tx9xWg/default.jpg http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/9b6o-bIWZJk/default.jpghttp://i1.ytimg.com/vi/PlbP0KbJxgk/default.jpg (Click images for vids) |
Looks good but bad download speed ??? constant loading.
He111. |
That's up to the higher powers at youtube... - Just let it buffer in a different tab and come back to it.
|
Good stuff. The dialogue made me smile!

Nice hit :)

The force is strong in you.

Great vid. Nice hit!
Just two short, constructive note ;) Set the (lower) altimeter to QNH zero next time. The best one, if you know it the own one (AFB ground level, QFE altitude) and the altitude of the target (now sea level), you can calculate the difference then. In the video your altimeter showed 80m height from runaway, the airport's altitude above a sea is added to this (~40-50 m). Bacause of this, the automatics throws the bombs from ~30-40m* higher, what the set on the upper altimeter is. Of course, its much more important between mountains, than on the seacoast  The bombers engine management demands bigger attention, than the fighters - in the game sure. Let the Stuka not exceed these values flying until long time: 2100 rpm, 1.1 ata (manual p. 94). When necessary, may push full power, but not exceed this at the time of long, calm flyings. And the aircraft will not shake then on a return flying. |
excellent again, thank you :)

How do you know this stuff? - Are you in the development team? :) I would love to know all this, but there is nowhere I can find such info! - There really should be a web site with all this, a wiki maybe... - Also with info on how to use the FMB... - As it is I am struggling with finding my way in the dark. Anyway, I probably needed those extra 120 meters when I threw the bomb! |

Then yet a short supplement :) You see a barometric scale on the upper part of the altimeter. It shows it which air pressure shows the 0 metres on altmeter (of course, these altmeters measure air pressure, and the enlargement of the inner box gives the measure of the elevation. This depends on the weather because of this, claims if the air pressure changes). If you know it a place the value of zero air pressure (if somebody landed already, and dictates it to you, what this scale shows if he is on zero alt), you set same value, your altmeter will shows excactly same altitude. This is very good if the departure one and the airport's of arrival altitude differ very much, or you taking off from another AFB, and have to set standard alt in mission. The standard seal level pressure setting (QNH) – 1,013.25 hPa, so you have to set 1013 on the little white scale, then your altmetes show 0 m on sea level. The wikipedia gives a very good explanation in these plainer things, but the google helps a lot. I have Hungarian books only unfortunately, they unusable for you. :( |
What an excellent little vid! Nice to see how you bloody jerries get it done.. :)
|
The video is well done, my only critic is: check the dates and the history. Here in this site the word "realistic" is very well liked and the word "game" is absolutly the contrary. III./StG I never operated at Maquise: a VIII Fliegerkorps unit with Luftlotte III his bases in BOB were Falaise and St Pol from September 1940.
If you like to utilise a unit of the Luftflotte II, take units of the II Fliegerkorps: the II./StG 1 based at Calais from Jul 9, 1940 to November 1940 or the IV./St LG1(base St Inglebert from Jul 25 to Sep 30, 1940). |

Hi Freycinet,
this is one of your best videos. I enjoy it everytime, as ever i like your comments. Still have to smile. Just one question. I have problems with the Stuka, its shaking hard. How can i solve this? When do i must engage the supercharger? (purple knob) Thank you and keep those vidoes on! S! |
Good video
Well done Freycinet, I liked your comments while flying. You have got to watch that engine temp. on the Stuka!

Other important things, the engine limitations. Read on the manual page 96. The "cruise settings" is 1100 engine rpm, 1.1 ata manifold pressure. Keep this limitations and temperatures, dont push the throttle without thinking. The supercharger pull out about 2500m. If you dont touch them, the engine will be weaker in high altitude, but do not shaking. I hope it helps  |

HI VO101 Tom, thanks alot for your kindness and information, trying your suggestions. I see its my fault handling the engine and water radiator:( PS: Tried it and it works. Thanx buddy LC |

Pure awesomeness again and great work on dive bombing! I have to say you make the best videos second to none. GJ. I say also I so very much begun to miss organised team play online. |
moilami, I'm sure organised online stuff will appear soon, after the sound bugs have been adressed (isn't it improved with the latest patch?)
BTW, if anybody has ideas for a coming movie subjects I'm all ears! |
Really nice one!
