Always great to see an unexpected warbird like that. I was at the 100th BG museum at Thorpe Abbotts last month and the control tower got buzzed by a Mustang. Great to see and totally unexpected.

the best encounter I've had was (almost 3 years ago) on my bike ride to school a b-17 suddenly appeared in the sky. it was far away and and didn't fly in my direction. so i didn't get a chance to take a picture.

Yikes... I guess that could mean something if you are superstitious and an Axis (virtual) pilot at the same time. It's not good to be haunted by Spitfires in the RL as well...

I was on the balkony when i heard a strange sound, never heard before. It was growing and growing and then a JU 52 appeared. As we live on a hilltop it was very close.

Done a bit of research and apparently it was the "Grace" ML407 which is a TR Mk IX for those that are interested.

http://www.ml407.co.uk

also another interesting link i found was a list of all airworthy spitfires and their locations.

Last July while walking the dog on the edge of town a Hurricane MkI flew over us, low level.
A jaw dropping experience to say the least

Cool man! I saw a similar sight, but it was at work on Friday. I work downtown Toronto on the top floor of a loft building so I have a nice view of the north. I hear helicopters landing often at Mount Sianai, but when I heard this thunderous approach I knew it was something serious.

I plaster myself to the window and see a Lancaster flanked by a P-51 (with drop tanks) a Hurricane and a B-25 with D-Day stripes on it. The Lanc was center, the fighters to either side nice and close. The B-25 was trailing a bit somewhat out of formation. Wish I had of grabbed my iphone in time, but I didn't want to miss it with my real eyes.

No idea what they were doing here, there's a Lancaster that flies out of Hamilton at the Canadian aviation museum, but doesn't explain the presence of the other planes.

Thanks for posting mate,

Perhaps something to do with the upcoming Hamilton Airshow? Dunno, just a guess.

It's great seeing the unexpected. I remember watching in disbelief as a lancaster flew over me in East London about 10 years ago.
Thanks for posting- the sound is great!

In Sweden warbirds are pretty rare so I remember looking out of the window from my office once from the 7:th floor out over the ocean seeing a silver thingy going way to fast for a civilian aircraft... It looked like it was below me and when it pulled up I realized it was a Mustang with the sun glittering in the polished wings.... Screamed so the other people at the same meeting jumped out of their chairs :) Beautiful sight!

I'm still waiting for the Fokker dr 1 that is based closed to where I live to pass my porch in the sunset while having a Friday cocktail ;)
