I'm not a nazi but,
can you add the svastika to the german planes tail again? I didn't like that feature neither in IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. I think it's kinda childish they are removed. I was having a look at BOB2 and Wings of Prey where historical decalls can be turned on or off and it looks much better. It greatly adds to the historical accuracy and atmosphere.
I wish the same option applies in CoD as in Wings of Prey; if you don't like it or feel offended you can turn it off. I have the same problem with WW2 scale model aircraft: if they don't have the svastika on their tail I really don't buy or want them. They're not historically accurate then in my opinion.. It's something of these days too, in the past they weren't that childish! |
Oh yeah
European Air War (EAW) had them included too, no problem. Good game that was.. Forget about CFS
|
there should be skins or you could make your own?

a swastika is an spiral which stand from infinity from the central black hole of the universe, a sun, more correctly a black sun, like the maya spiral for huann kub the center of the universe whioch goes infinitly outwards in a way those filthy nazis have won a batle by apropiating such nice symbol check out the swastika i made: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...d/infpaint.jpg here the ancient maya symbol: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...-Ku%29.svg.png |
this one has been done a thousand times already... use the forum search function to learn more.
you're fighting country laws, of which, the developers are bound |
Every thread about this goes the exact same way. . .
1. "We should have the swastika in the game..." 2. "You can mod it in..." 3. "It's actually an ancient symbol that the Nazis used to..." 4. "There are laws in other countries that don't allow it to be used and..." Jesus! Give it up. It's never, NEVER going to be added officially! Move on and stop creating the same thread over and over again. |

To the topic: I miss the unique skins, but the svasztika no. In more countries prohibited, may not be here because of this. Period. |
Yeah, blah, blah, blah right.
Oh well. I wonder if it's illegal to paint Nazi kill markings on the side of your plane. Being the same symbol but used to celebrate a dead Nazi rather than worship a live one... |
BoB2, Wings of Prey, IL2, et al are also sold in other countries. So, that kind of shoots down that argument.
If someone in Germany, for example, wants to put a swastika on his ME-109, and it's against the law, he could be punished. If he prefers not to put it on, he has not broken any law, even if the option to put it on exists in the flight sim. He also could be punished for stealing a car, but he has nothing to worry about just because there are cars that could be stolen. The swastika should be an option for us all. binky9 |

a) were sold in Germany directly (ie, not through mail order from abroad) b) included the markings from the get go...as far as i can recall, swastikas were only displayed in the Russian version of IL2 and someone found a leftover toggle in a configuration file in the other versions. In any case, swastikas in the game = lost money for the developers and there's much to be fixed yet. I prefer they stick to the laws to be able to sell in more markets/countries and let us do things on our own with mods, skins and what not. Also, things have changed pretty recently with regards to laws banning swastikas in Russia. It is now illegal there as well and since the developer studio is based there, there's not really anything they can do. Long story short, this has been debated ad nauseum. I'd like it to be optional too, but it's just not feasible from a legal standpoint. People can get jailed for that and there are no flight simulator developer studios in prisons, it's that simple. ;) |
