Just finished downloading and installing on 2nd pc, noticed the following
1. large vertical visual distortion bar on MBR forward cockpit view. see attached 2 IL-4 bomb bug, using mixed 2x fab 250 and 1x fab 500 and 10x fab 100 the selection item is listed as 1 fab 100. |

So is it a sliding panel or flare port? Or plexiglass overlapping? Oh before I get too involved with exploring thank you for the patch! Always good to have stock updates! Seems everyone wants their game in different ways,hope it will be reasonably mod friendly.

Emergency HUD message He-177
Only a small detail. The emergency HUD message on the He-177 is displayed incorrectly ("Forsazh!" instead of ("Erhöhte Notleistung EIN!") in the German localization.

Takes multiple turns just to make small changes in throttle setting. In previous versions of the sim the sensitivity was much more and worked well. Not that much of an issue when flying level bombers, but it becomes a problem when flying fighters, as I look around with the mouse and use the mouse wheel to apply throttle as needed. I don't know if there's anyway to adjust the throttle sensitivity (the three control axis you can). Just wanted to post this here. Thanks again for the continuing support of this fantastic product! |
AI gun pod use
made a test mission to learn how to use gunpods and discovered the AI will not engage even if linked to a seperate target. As for single player equiped with pods i discovered that if using the 81A pods with angled down guns once your looking thru the gun sight you cant look around. Also i cant kill parked planes at all, ,was able to destroy motorcycles and trucks etc.

Yes AI ju88 with the gunpods does not attack ground targets and i am waiting a code for it. For now use it as a heavy fighter

MBR Front gunner slow to respond to activate (as a human gunner).
Also, new change on not being able to fire gun when parts of the aircraft are in the way... uh... this is a human decision, ? Game deleted JSGME mod activator without permission. Not impressed with this new method of patch distribution. |

Now forgive me if I'm wrong - but I was under the distinct impression that the ABKP-100 would stay attached upon releasing the bombs (much like the KMGU)?
The dispersion also seems a bit high (given the lack of rotation or gas based dispersion for the bomblets). Nice to see the love for the U-2 though! |
Not sure if its the new patch or just a user error :rolleyes: .
If I try and launch a game on hyperlobby, it just starts the game up like normal, and doesn't go into the multiplayer mode automatically. So now the only way others can join my coops is through IP. Also a friend asked me to pass this along that he couldn't update the steam version of game. Apparently the Steam auto updater is overwriting all of the 4.14 files. |
MBR Observations/Ju88 Gunpod observations

1. Plane date will make a difference in cockpit instruments. before 1942 you will not have beacon direction finder gage. After jan 1942 you will have it.
2. MBR appears to be coded as a level bomber, AI will ignore moving target if equipped with rockets and bombs and not linked to attack. 3. AI will land on stationary test runway 5 in a glide with engine off. 4. Compass is out of alignment with binnacle compass 5. Fuel mix has to be changed at 900-1000m. 6. If a wing float is shot off you still get its wake on landing. Ju88 with gunpods: 1. neither pod will kill a stationary aircraft. They will kill trucks etc. 2. pods are not jettisonable 3. Pods arent very heavy, since they go on bomb hardpoints why isnt there a bomb bay load out available such as sc 50/sc 70 carried in bomb bay. makes sense to squirt and bomb at same time. |

Well, not strictly a bug, but on the He-177, the lower gunner positions are a bit hard to use because the glass is too "dirty" or too much glare.

U-2VS Crashes
Not a new problem, but the U-2VS still crashes often when flown by the AI in multi-aircraft flights, on the Moscow 1 map at least (see the TB-3 single mission for example). The lead aircraft in each flight is fine, but after a while the others fall out of formation and crash. It looks like the pilots just fall asleep.
After seeing that this situation is still the same in 4.14 I have done more testing myself in various missions. I did a lot of experimenting with speed, skill, formation, time of day, season etc. Changing the map to Moscow 2 (no snow/skis) seems to fix things in the TB-3 mission, but in others even that doesn’t help. Sometimes reducing the bomb load seems to help too. So I guess the U-2VS is generally limited to single-aircraft flights when flying with skis and certain loads, on the Moscow 1 map at least. Does anyone know why it is that the lead aircraft are always fine while the followers crash even when they are all set to the same skill level? |
Yes it need fix. Did you change it as a level bomber to see the behavior?

I've built lots of U2 missions and make all of them with the player as the wingman, seems to help with the crashes.most stable speed is 100kph at 800m, fuel 70%. Also don't link gatk icon to target,as U2 seems to be coded as level bomber.
R-5 handles better now but still takes forever to climb out, for fmb purposes it's better to air start 200m higher than rest of waypoints. |

first review
Flew a few missions online, my natural environment, and the planes are very stable now, they do not jump when lining up a shot with micro movements of the sticks.
Roads seem to be stitched differently, you can see the individual pieces. Pribaltika, which was always a dark map, (no sun) is now proper for 12:00. Looks like the bullets striking the ground has been upgraded, you can see the power of the missed shells. Subtle, but instantly noticeable. Raised some AAA guns, are you guys going to add that function to objects, I would like to raise some sand bags to put around the raised guns. Also. it seems like if a gun is on a hill, when you move it, it stays at that level, you need to drop it if where you are putting it is lower. And when you Insert a object, cloning the one you have selected, it stays on the original, the new one has to be clicked on to rotate, raise, or move. and we seem to have lost the 7 and 9 keys (the smallest increments of movement) for rotating objects, neither of them will work on my machine. It's hard to say if it's better, but it sure seems that way. Cheers. |
7 and 9 keys have to be reset in the fmb configure section, same with insert etc.

USN Aircraft Speed indicators now in MPH instead of KNOTS
The speed indicators for the below listed planes got changed in this patch to indicate MPH instead of KNOTS. This is incorrect for USN/USMC aircraft. The speed indicator should be in KNOTS. You can verify this by comparing it to the speed bar.

I am not able to join neither of working 4.14 servers from this list:

Reason: Timeout 0". I have joined all those servers in 4.13 earlier without any issue. I153 was kind enough to suggest the "cheating" from my side. So nice. http://www.mission4today.com/index.p...wtopic&t=20876 But I have installed 4.14 on the copy of "vanilla" 4.13.4 which had never any mods or additional programs installed. Ever. The only changes were done in conf.ini (graphics and network) and in Samples folder (new voices added). And new skins, of course. Even more, I have no idea about any "cheating" add ons and never was interested in them. So, how to overcome this connection issue? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks beforehand. |
does it get as far a CRT:2 message, I noticed that when I joined, never saw that before.
I had no problem with the AleXserver, the two other servers that have updated to 4.14 have never let me join so I don't bother. |

I don't seem to be able to load a map in FMB, zoom in and press Enter, then hold down the RMB and move the mouse pointer along the ground anymore. :confused:

In FMB if you go to Configure/Control Keys on the menu and Reset to defaults, then you can move the pointer by holding F4 and using the RMB. I had to manually change a few keys to get back to the way I like it. |

Try this,copy what worked and put in a folder outside root directory then select 512 from exe folder and paste it over current exe. Send the new one to desktop as short cut exit out and try it out.

512 exe works fine to start the game offline. But it does not help in connecting to the servers. Same error message. I'll probably make separate clean instal from Platinum DVD plus all subsequent updates and see what happens. Or not to waste time and just wait for 4.14.1... Who knows what kind of new "surprises" new version will bring. |
R5 rear gunner no longer changes drums?
I was in a mission and noticed when i was shooting i didnt need to change drums anymore. can some one else test to confirm?

Did the server you were trying to join use the exact same exe as you? That is mentioned in the read me as well.

tested in 4.14 and 4.13.4 - the R5 does not change drums in either version. - the U2-VS stops to change drums in both versions. |

I've been enjoying re-flying old missions with the new atmospherics and literally seeing them in a new light (for better or worse) :)
I was hoping to see the U-2VS mission U2-05_19420501 titled "1942 - Supply to Encircled Cavalry Corps" updated with a new Timeout setting so that the mission became achievable. Some may remember I posted a simple fix for this about 6 months ago and Sita thanked me for the tip. I thought that might mean it would be fixed with the new patch since it only requires a single digit to be changed in the .mis file to be fixed, but no such luck. So anyone trying to fly that mission will still get a mission failure message after 30 minutes, long before reaching the target. I'll repeat the fix for those wanting to know. Just change the Target line in the .mis file as below (key digit in red): (Original) 3 0 1 30 500 19909 36097 450 (New Fixed) 3 0 1 90 500 19909 36097 450. This works equally well for 4.13.4m and 4.14m. |
i hope this fix with some others mission fixes will be include in the hotfix

I have made another separate and "clean" install of 4.14 starting from DVD Platinum then upgrading with SAS Megapatch to 4.12.2 and then adding all updates up to 4.13.4.
Then installed 4.14. Still no luck with multiplay. Neither of 4.14 servers from the list below allow me in. http://il2.com.ru/en/links.php?sort=version Same problem as before. First message is "Connection is successful!" and then ""The communication with the remote host is lost." So, it seems that I'm banned from multiplay by some new tricks implemented by TD in 4.14. Not nice. Not smart. Not user friendly. P.S. No problem with connecting to 4.13 servers and earlier... Ever. |
on which server you try to connect?
for now i only can propose two way to check whats wrong ... if you have GOG or steam version of 1946 instal over it 4.14 or instal patch over patch from platina ... it's not comfortable but as i see it's best way find missed link or some extra files ... (check pm) yes ... on 4.13.xx you can connect to any sevrevs .. i suppose even with CRT-2 ... |
TB-3 Observation
TB-3 now has OPB-1 but for some reason it no longer follows rudder trim instructions when stabilizer is applied. take it off stabilizer and rudder can be shifted. It has the lights for pdi left right but as bombardier if in stabilized mode they dont do anything. neither does rudder trim..I remember in one of the 413 series patches that soviet planes didnt have level stabilizer but they still responded to the command and rudder trim to slightly change course.

I know it's the longer install, but try and do every patch from 408m individually, I had zero problems and that is the way I did it.
As far a game play, have you done something to the maps, they seem to be more hilly, And more defined when at alt. It looks great. Planes handle well, and I see there are some new skins for early 109's, the dark Western Europe Skins. Lots of work went into this latests patch, I'm sure I will find other surprises and features not mentioned in the "read me". Cheers!! |

Moscow Map problems
I'm creating a mission using the He-177-A3 bombers on the 'Moscow Map'. When I hit the play button I get the following message:-
'Mission Loading Failed: Mesh 3do/humans/Paratroopers/Russia/mo no.sim not created.' Can anybody help me? DFLion |
sounds familar ... at current moment can't remeber the cure for it.

Stugumby - not sure what you mean by 'try using 512 exe' Sita - obviously there must be a cure for it somewhere? In this upgrade 4.14 I can't use any Moscow map. I have also seen this same message when I try to run some of my older campaigns?? I have a feeling there is something missing on these Moscow maps i.e 3do/humans/Paratroopers/Russia and the game is blocking the start - this might be effecting a lot of players!!! Thanks again - if anybody has an idea (especially the Daidalos Team), let me know. I have started a campaign with the He-177-A3 operating with KG1 which is coming along very well. KG1 bombed the railway centre at Velikye Luki, 300 miles to the west of Moscow, using 87 He177's flying at 20,000ft - would have made an impressive sight! DFLion |

I noticed using an old mission with version of AI He-177-A3 and enabling one AI group as player flyable He-177-A3 will not let you go beyond briefing/plane setup. You get plane not loading or something. Resolved by creating new flight for player flyable.

MBR is coded as a level bomber, if linked to a moving ship it will go to low and eventually ram the ship like a torpedo. best to use unlinked and it will bobble about a bit and hopefully stay high enough to not self destruct.

Just ran a mission with the he177 in it, and the plane ends up ditched at spawn, with no skin. Like the Jets1957 do if you don't have a certain mod.

Russian torpedo boat D3 wont shoot MG?
It will shoot at a enemy plane but not an enemy boat of similar or larger size??
I placed a E boat between 2 offset D3 and about 500 yards ahead and they will not shoot mg at it, same for a tanker that they will torpedo,but no mg fire. |
Asura's DGen usage
Can't find the way to have it working.
Set UseAsuraDGen=1 in conf.ini Put DGen.exe and DGen_mod.ini inside the folder #DGEN tried with Asura's related MOD folder in and out the #DGEN folder, as well as putting all relevant files (.DB, .mis, planes.dat, etc) in and out the #DGEN folder (but with the campaignsRu6.dat there, the game can no more read it). No juice. Asura's DGen_mod version is 2.0.1.2, which worked perfectly with previous 4.13.4. Please help! |

Sorry to disturb you again, but in an adverse site they claim that the update 4.14.1, if on the one hand allows you to launch the game even with "extraneous" executable files in its main directory (such as, for example, the JSGME.exe) , on the other hand it no longer allows the use of Asura's DGen mod. Since this last point is essential for me, I am refraining from practicing the update. Please, can you enlighten me about it?

You can use the asuras dgen as you did before 4.14. If does not work use the 4.14 method. For now i am using the 4.0.8 dgen.

Dimlee, you try use steam version? i offered gift to you steam version ... to check how it work with version without megapatch ... btw i find you in steam and make freind request ... but for now don't have answer ..

as i read from your previouse post you using some kind megapatch ... i don't know what it is ... never used it .. don't know what sfs files versions included there ... before make a build of 4.14.xx we check all or almost all version of il2 what was published ... compare all sfs and collect all correct sfs ... i suppose some in that area is a issue in your case ... |

Dusty, I can't join your server either. I can join AleXserver on Hyperlobby no problem but when I try a direct connection to your IP, my game freezes and I have to exit with taskmanager. It does appear to connect at first but then it locks up when the mission is transferring. It's the same whether CRT is 2 or 0.
It might be a problem at my end rather than yours, I have no idea. |

I'm not sure what we did or didn't do that makes it work... And how AleX server gets listed on HL I would love to know how. I can't list my 414.1 server on HL, the game search will ONLY take il2fb.exe. If I try to change the name of il2server.exe it il2fb.exe the server will not start. I guess that is one way to kill off HL if that was the idea... I have given up on 414.1 until that gets fixed... I only put that server up for dimlee to test in. |

It sounds like they should just start all over again with 414, a bunch of people don't want their files wiped out and won't even try it. I don't know why mine worked perfectly, I never had any mod's might be why. I'm moving at the end of the month and don't have time for it now. My server will be down while I move but, it WILL be back on as soon as I can!
I hope they remember to change the file name il2server.exe to il2fb.exe on the dedicated server in the next patch. If they don't change it, then no HL to list a 414 server at... HL will NOT change their game search to hunt for il2server.exe.. And there is no way to write it in the game search. |
I have to completely agree. They really made this a Charlie Foxtrot, if you know what I'm saying.
