Is there a Link to this Patch without using Stream
Anyone ?
|
NO ! why would there be. Its a steam game.
|
With a hard copy why would should i need stream to up date my patches
|
Because the game is run thru Steam and all official patches will come thru Steam
Your hardcopy is essentially a blank disc. The game is on Steam and is supported there. |
Desagree the games sold as been able be played offline and should have its patches for customers of this nature !! So take THAT lol
|
Hmm I can't help either. But maybe the stream forums have an answer. Or maybe contact stream support. To be honest, I know pretty much nothing about stream :(
|
Sadly there's no way to opt out of Steam.
It doesn't give me much trouble as i've disabled all the fluff (apart from auto-updates resetting to on every time i exit the game, which i have to set to off each and every time) and it does run the games when your internet connection is down, but it still is not a stand-alone game. |

What is Stream the New world order around now ? |
Its probably a lot easier to update a Warez copy if you download the patch direct too..

That's how i used to keep my original game discs in good condition for every game i bought back in the day when they required a disc in the drive. I would buy the game, apply a crack and run one version older than the latest, until a bypass was available for each new patch. A "fixed" exe means the patch wouldn't apply, so a guy with a cracked copy would need to revert back to the original files, apply the patch and then reapply a crack which would have to be done from scratch again, custom built for the particular version. It's the best counter to piracy really (frequent updates of any kind, not necessarily Steam), since no pirate group makes a habbit of providing updated cracks unless the initial version has game breaking bugs that make the first few updates absolutely critical and even then, they move on to the next big thing pretty fast and forget about it. Long story short, Steam is not providing anything extra in the regard. In fact it's one of the easiest systems to bypass, most of the hot titles in the blockbuster genres floating around in illegal downloads are from a Steam version and on top of that, there are even updates and DLC packs available for them. I used to work in a webcafe back when Steam was much less reliable and we had valid licenses for all games (ie, the company bought everything) but when something was not working or Steam was acting up, it was no problem at all downloading a "tampered" version, putting it on the main server and changing the links from the clients to temporarily point to that one so the customers could play until Steam came back online. Steam is just neat to have if you like what it does and they are giving a good % of the selling price to the developers. Other than that it doesn't really have any massive advantages compared to other distribution methods. Well, at least in my opinion, your mileage may vary. |
I dunno what you guys need, I'll need the international version patch to get the latest maddox.dll, 'cause I don't read russian at all...
|
Hey, wait! Do I have to use stream? Why that, suddenly? I'm already annoyed by that other method of verifying myself and downloading patches - and now, stream comes on top of that? Maybe I should contact stream customer support too, as stream was totally uncalled for; for me at least. And I didn't hear too much noise about stream in these forums either!
Stream gets a clear "dislike" from me! |

As for JG27_brook, ofc you meant links to new patchs, I was messing with ya man :) But actually this is my favorite method of patching. Really just sitting back and relaxing, awaiting for the update to litterally install itself is a treat (just like with Starcraft II). But frankly I don't like the idea of having all my steam games (all H-L, all H-L 2, and this now) linked on one, single, very hackable account for the taking... But who cares xD |
In the time it took you to write this and read the replies you could have had it patched a million times over....

meh, no one's getting the "stream" thing :(

Warez copy?
|
Yeah smells like pirates....
|
STEAM has been a pain the harse up till now... starting to consider to ilegally downlaod the game just to get read of it

For starters u have to install steam before the game allows it to be installed from the disc. Then after the game has installed from the disc, the install is completed by steam updating the game with the core files that are needed (hence, only a portion of the game is installed from the disc). How do i know this? because i, like alot of others, bought the hard disc. So if ur saying that ur able to play it straight from the disc, then im telling you your either full of it, or ur using a pirated version of the game. Oh and sure, u can play it offline, when u set steam offline, and even then its only playable offline if the game is up to date. As you said yourself - So take THAT lol |

I hope 1c/Ubisoft figure this out and get us a hardcopy dvd version that does not need Steam but still has some sort of copy protection on it. If people that have paid for the program get warez versions you can bet there will be a lot of people getting it without ever buying the program. This would suck. The programmers deserve to get paid for their work. |

At least it works in offline mode and most of the fluff can be disabled, leaving the relatively minor annoyance of having to run an extra application before you can launch the sim. Don't get me wrong, i don't hate it on principle "just because" and it hasn't given me any real trouble even though it's totally new to me, i just don't want extra layers of dependencies on my gaming simply on a "just in case" basis. |

Smart ASS O and by the way I have brought Il2 from the first IL2 and all its addon's for the last 10 about years can you say that yeah? So thats a long team Customer of 1c and i have a right just ask if there are exe patches |
oooooh! i deeply appologise for jumping the gun and not knowing your full circumstances of not having a net connection at home brook. Certainly since you didnt note this, you should have seen this coming no? But at the end of the day, you should know well enough that it can only be played threw steam, either online or offline. Looks like ur gonna be doin the long haul for the patches.
Oh and btw, your not the only person who has bought all the il2 series, and i can say that with full confidence ;) |
I feel for you Brook, but it is the times we live in my friend. The internet revolution has taken full hold of society in all aspects of life, and that includes business. Just like the telephone did at the beginning of the 20th century, the internet has fast become a necessity of life in the 21st century.
