Anyone has more information? BestBuy link OverStock link |
Well i hope for the U.S guys that isnt true cuz that would take the upmost pi$$

Why wait if you can purchase it now from justflight iirc and as far as I know?

Your choices are very clear. You can get it now at justflight or you can wait. There is nothing anyone can do to remedy this if it is indeed again delayed.
|
A wise decision I'd say, if it's true.
|
I'd be pissed (not in the english meaning) if that was true and I was US.

These threads are just amazing. Every other thread is about how the heck 1C/Ubisoft could release the game in the state it was on the release date, the other half is about the fact that everyone thinks it's still unplayable.
Then snug in between there are these threads where people call Ubisoft morons for postponing the release in the most important market. I don't get it... |

So unless you have bandwidth issues or want to wait potentially months just to have a pretty box on your shelf, there is no reason you shouldn't get it from JustFlight. |

a simple look at some home truths would indicate to me that they are trying to make some money with the US sales by releasing a "ready" in a good state title. What is wrong with that? or you lott going to suggest that they should release a sim in a not ready under developed state.
is that really what you US folks want ?. Ask yourself. If i were you i would be appreciative of how much they value your sale mr america !. |

direct from the just flight website "Please note - due to publisher's restriction, this game is not available for sale from European websites to the United States of America." |
I'm in the United States.
What I want is the game. So I downloaded it weeks ago and I couldnt be happier. Is it perfect no but there working on it . Is it playabe yes I have no problems with it offline, online there are known issuse they are working on and I have some minor graphic issues which I think are related to my operating system using directx 9 so I will upgrade to windows 7. There are no show stoppers for me so I can wait for the fine tuning to be done and enjoy what I have now in the mean time. |

They have one chance basically to save face for this game and thats the USA launch. If its porked for that it would be hard to recover. |
I live in the US and picked it up as soon as I found out JustFlight had it available. I have dealt with JF before regarding FSX add-ons and there is no reason not to get it from them. I dont know why the US market is waiting for the US release date other than ignorance to the fact that they can have it now. Or, on the very ugly side of things, no one wants to buy this game given all the bad press on these forums and the mediocre reviews/previews that are floating around.
I play online only and am happy with my purchase for the most part, save for maybe the disappointment with the amount of flyable aircraft. |

I live in the US and I would rather wait for a playable boxed version come to me from Amazon.

Won't be a miracle, it will be hard work. As for the product roll out, if you think the Dev's brough the DVD to the publishers and said "Here it is, its ready to go right now" you are an idiot. The world of publishers and producers is a fickle one.. I have NO inside info from this case, but I'd bet they were given a final hard date..either meet it or we move on and you move on with other projects.. they got out what they could and have been working their asses off to get it to where they want it to be. They get some sales and that buys them more time and now that they've shown that the product does in fact have some genre defining potential they will continue to build on this and it will just keep getting better and better..
Think about the man hours involved in this code.. its been worked on on and off for 6 years or more.. and in 5-6 weeks a few guys and been going 100% and have made big stride in fixing a massively complex pile of code.. I have a pretty good gaming rig.. not any 3X SLI madness.. just a good CPU and a good GPU card.. and I have had nothing but good performance..The game was playable for me even at release and now its playing by me at the highest settings at HIGH fps.. A lot of people are in the same boat as me.. others are having issues.. When it all shakes out a LOT of the issues are going to be G Card/Driver related.. |

Does it have more content? Are there more missions? More campaigns? More flyables? More FPS? Or do you mean that you can now fly at 10 K plus, occasionally with some one else on the server? Yanks: Pray it's not released for another year, that gives you 12 months to laugh at the euro early adopters losing their religion. |

My last info is that 1C/Maddox is an independent studio and UBI are the publishers for CoD. So, if they got pressured that hard by UBI, they should aim for making better contracts in the future. As for the 5-6 years in development (plus about 5 months for the US release) issue... well, they've done a great job in the (non-optimized) graphics department, obviously, plus the sophisticated FM/DM. But that's about it. I just fail to see that long development time paying off in any way. |

I have it ordered from Amazon.ca and I've got no word of another delay (still saying May 16-May 30).
Happy to wait for a box. I want a DVD for the collection (I have them all), and am interested to see how it plays when it finally makes it over here physically (and compare my initial experience to the reviewers). Carry on beta testing :) Cheers, Spinner |

All my negativity is because I don't like the box art and blame Ubisoft for deliberately forcing Oleg to release the box art early and with a funky anti dazzle coating which magically ripped all the fantastic missions and campaigns which he'd spent 6 years making in a shell prompt just for us. You were on a server with 25 guys? in the 21 century? I bow down before your internet awesomeness. I never dreamt such things were possible. I will now return my joysticks to the manufacturer as I'm obviously lacking in appreciation of the really real realness that is Clod. |
He was on A SERVER!
!!! with... 25 GUYS!!! !!! for AN HOUR! !!! !!! !!!WITHOUT A HICCUP!!! Sweet Jesus... Where's that patch? I want to be disappointed even more than now. |
Well Conio! (lol :P, the name not the ... hum :D)
Like people said before, Justflight. c o m it or wait for it! Personally I purchased it over just flight living in the USA, the game is definately playable, with bugs every now and then and depending on your hardware (apparently latest hardware is not necessarily the best atm, but will be eventually i'm sure). If you got a quad core (above 2Ghz of frequency) with a descent graphics card (1GB of VRAM for the very least) and 4GB of ram, then you should be able to play it quite smoothly (in low/med settings)... If your comp is not as good as this then wait for it... cause you probably won't have anyfun playing it, just wait for further optimization. But if your comp is equal or better you could be having fun with it like some people on this forum. (But fair warning... Most people posting here are unsatisfied, the happy ones are just enjoying it, some post comments.) And lastly, If you buy the game for the Su 26, don't... They played a trick on us and did not implement it. Let's hope it is only temporary, but they avoid topics about it, nor did they ever released info on what happened to it. Anyways guess it all comes down to how bad you want a boxed version :) have fun, and I hope my post helped you. |
I've been putting up with the release pushbacks so I can get some work done, but enough is enough. Bought it through Just Flight, said I was in the USA, they told me to remove the game from the cart because I couldn't buy it, but I went ahead anyway. Got an activation code, put it on Steam, and it's downloading.
Need to cancel my steam preorder now too. I dare not hope it'll run on this crappy laptop, but we'll see :) |

Regarding buying via jstflt etc. if we all do that, once the North America release comes out, the sales will be cero ;) As for my machine, it is: ASUS CG5290 I7 2.67GHz 9GB Ram GTX260 1GB Windows 7 64bits |

I got it from Justflight and have been having a great time with it. My buddy is waiting for his amazon order... Think he is gonna be waiting a long time. I keep sending him screen shots of damaged Stukas plummeting to their demise. He has resorted to threatening me with bodily harm!

They delay is a dead cert, the latest patch does nothing to help imho. Its still not fit for retail release.
|
They can keep it till its ready. I prefer all my games be downloaded digitally these days, and if possible I always buy through STEAM which has treated me wonderfully since 2004. I'll just putz around in il21946 and play world of tanks in the mean time. :)
