Multi-Stuka Divebomb in Heavy Flak (vid)

Hey guys, recorded another Stuka vid. Made this in the mission editor. Got pretty hairy but made it out with minor damage.
Enjoy :D

So how many Smurfs, approximately, did you kill?

BadAim 04-07-2011 04:50 AM

Very nice.

mcmatt 04-07-2011 04:55 AM

I like it!

scissorss 04-07-2011 05:01 AM

I got 3 iirc. There was a convoy of 12. And then there were none. Lost 1 Stuka :(

Pretty nice flak effect. I like the way you can just see the shrapnel fragments from some of the closer bursts.

Your wingtip catches fire at :32!
wow... It flames out after one second. Interesting...

Yeah I believe it was an incendiary round that nicked the wingtip. Nice effect though and from the cockpit view I could hear fragments pinging off my aircraft the whole way down it seemed like. Figured I wouldn't come back up.

Looks very nice. Could you gift me your rig? :-)

scissorss 04-07-2011 07:45 AM

Actually my rig isn't much by today's standards :P

Whoa, being in some sick way a fan of the optics of dense flak cover, it looks (and sounds, actually) a-we-some! Very nice video! Did you put the mission together by yourself? If so, how many flak artillery pieces did you place?

Yeah I made it in the FMB. As for how many arty pieces, I didn't count, I just control+clicked like a madman and had a go at it. If I had to guess I'd say at least 20-30 :D

Georgio41 04-07-2011 04:30 PM

Nice video, weird thing is though that you'd expect more damage for that amount of flak.
I guess that's nothing when bomber crews used to talk about seeing so much flak the could almost 'walk on it'

Was that captured live or did you capture from a track afterwards?

scissorss 04-07-2011 04:39 PM

Captured from a track afterwards. My 3rd attempt. I didn't fare so well on the first two runs...

ATAG_Doc 04-07-2011 04:49 PM

Really cool video! Thanks for sharing with the community.

Kankkis 04-07-2011 05:06 PM

Nice, thanks.

There are no visible performance issues when rendering a track to video, apparently (not tried myself). It's playable for me, just with stuttering here and there. Nice video OP :)

sarcasm? Actually after a little bit of tweaking this game is very playable for me (as you can see). Even better with the trees off but the scenery looks so much nicer with them enabled. Stuttering seems to get less and less the more I play. I don't know how to explain this.. Perhaps I am just getting used to it and don't notice it anymore. Regardless, I'm having loads of fun with this sim.
