Amazing photo Elixx! How could we match that?
Well, as you are Swedish the photo below is rather fun at least (taken with my cell phone so the quality is awful). I did not know we had aircraft boneyards in Sweden until last year - from the old Rinkaby military air base last summer: http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/830/j35ty.jpg Google Maps link to the place For the rest of you - what planes are that? (swedes, danes, finns etc may not answer ;)) EDIT AGAIN: Well, the fence is not to keep people away but the cows that graze the old air base ;) /Mazex |

I talked to a JA-37 Viggen pilot once who said they could not catch them flat out "racing" and the JAS-39 is about the same speed as the JA-37 :) |

As we are waiting - here's another one from the same place - I really like boneyards! There is something special with old high tech weaponry on a grazing fileld ;) http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/7239/92647850.jpg This type I have actually piloted myself - not this one though ;) As I started the quiz... Which one is that? (same rules!) |
If you are going to take a picture of an iconic aircraft, it might as well be this one.

We used to have F-35 and RF-35 Draken's in the RDAF talk about the Speed O' heat, always great to see airborne, they got replaced by the -16, but seeing them overhead is some of the fondest aviation moments I have (Danish F-35's were heavily modified to accept NATO ordnance, and even Bulpup missiles plus some rather advances RHAW and ECM stuff)

Nothing fancy.. took these on my phone the other day in Tangmere, had a hour to kill and i was just around the corner from Tangmere Aviation Museum.. they have a pretty cool BoB section..If you are near Chichester you should pop in.

Good stuff mate.. is the Tangmere museum open daily, wouldn't mind having a look. :)

I hope CoD will be able to look like this at some point. M$ made this CFS3 so that the public could take the base sim of CFS3 and develop it in to this. Will we be able to do this with CoD? flyer01 |

As far as my personal taste goes fighters should look brutish, not elegant and pretty, which makes the 190 the best looking fighter of the war for me. The P-47 takes second place for similar reasons and then i also like the sight of bombed-up Hurricane IICs, mosquitoes, luftwaffe nightfighters and so on. No offense to the fans of Ponys and Spitfires, it's just that compared to the "uglier" and beefier planes they look a bit "girly" for lack of a better word: "Oooh, don't touch me, i'm single-engined, liquid cooled and break easily" :-P |
