Great video, thanks very much for posting. The action sequences from various exhibitions give me a better sense of game play than the official updates. The sound is really nice, even judging from this low quality rendition.

This guy is scary though! I would not not to meet that look from someone I am depending on in the cockpit. He looks like he is asking what the **** he should do!

It would be great if the in-cockpit AI crew looked back at you if you glanced in their direction (hopefully without that blank expression on their faces)!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I want to hit him!

Hmmm, there is a gunsight view for gunner MG's... i'm sure i saw this before, but didn't really notice that little detail, so nice find ;)

Just look at 1:15-1:18 and you'll see the camera going from normal view to "iron sights" view.

Also, i'm laughing with what setback posted...the AI guy really has a "what now, dadddy?" expression on his face. Reminds me of that classic quote from the alien film: "game over man, game over!" :-P

Sauf 03-21-2011 09:15 PM

Nah he just seen "Spit girl" fly past and is "WTF, did you just see that?"

Biggs 03-21-2011 09:37 PM

as far as i can tell the hurri still sounds just like the old "merlin" did.

the Ju-88 on the other hand has a different note than in il21946

and i really like the ripping sound of the .303s!!

This clip is kinda old but has also some ingame sound:

I can't get enough of watching these and get the goosebumps just thinking about how much fun all of this super high quality immersion will bring.

I have to admit I just don't get all the haters around here.........Simple lack of imagination I guess. Oh well, we get to enjoy the best flight sim ever, and they get to feverishly look for something new to hate.

P.S. really nice clips BTW good reminder of what deliciousness we're in for in a few days.

From about 2:28 you can see some kind of white arrows down near ground level. Looks to me like some kind of way-point indicator or training aid. Haven't seen that before.

Good spotting. I initially thought it could be a wind direction marker but then the other arrows pointed in another direction, altogether forming a curved path.

Maybe it's a course indicator or even a radar vector indicator. Or maybe it's a training mission and (gasp!) they're trying to teach the rookies how to fly a proper pursuit curve against the bombers :-P

There are some other vids that show these arrows as well.
Although I can't be certain, I always thought they were arrows pointing to other aircraft, much like Janes WW2 Fighters did.

Skoshi Tiger 03-22-2011 03:33 AM

For the movie makers.
At about 2:20 in the first video they were changing the location of the external camera in the shot of the bomber, shifting the camer down and to on side.

I could be wrong but I don't think you can do that in IL2.

Cheers!

fireflyerz 03-22-2011 05:04 AM

You could do it but only with a mod , sound is old and bloody dire.

I would like to add that the modelling of the crew members is really a lot better than I had imagined. He looks quite realistic.

major_setback 03-22-2011 11:51 AM

At 1.15 the gunner's point of view seems to lock to a position looking down the gunsight when he gets close to the gun; as if he is looking down the barrel.

It's the first time I've seen this in a flight sim.
