What is with the release date please?
Why does the US have to wait a almost a month before we download the same game that the UK players download on March 31?

That add up to a lot of work for the devs to make it North American ready. |
|
Lol nice one, right, whatever....it still smells like xxxx. How bout the 1st of April? Funny to release it then.
|
k, what year did the USA join BOB? No offence to the patient yanks, but ffs Tacky you ask some stupid xxxx, fair nough im just home from pub with a guts full, but if it was up to me i'd let you wait for another year or so till Oleg releases Torch! And while im full of grog MacArthur was an idiotic attention grabber that had the strategic concept that never went past "how will that effect ME" pffff you probarly dont even know who he is so waste of a good rant, now i gotta face the wife with a xxxx attitude :(

As 1c does not publish the game outside Russia, why are you all posting here and not in the Ubisoft forum?
|

well, ok an exception for you, only because you gave us aussies maple syrup (where we learnt what the maple leaf was and it was a country), will move on before i think about that to much :)
ps, I still have a packet of Canadian wild rice in my pantry, 10 years old, been keeping it till they sell canadian duck here. |
well, at least for once US have to wait for an european release first. The rest of the times is viced-versa.. so, get a good feel about how it is to have to wait a few weeks, while the other buggers already got it :P

Historical accuracy. Can't have the Battle of Britain overrun by yanks right from the start. Maybe you can get into it via Canada? Opting out of the Commonwealth is a bitch eh?
:twisted::twisted::twisted: |
I really can't see what all the fuss is about regarding the release date of this (long awaited I admit) game.
With all the things happening in the world at the moment, earthquakes, tsunami's, existing and near as damnit future wars, famine etc we have a group of people jumping up and down acting like prepubescent spoilt children whinging, whining and crying that they will have to wait a whole week or two longer for something that has been in development for years. GROW UP PEOPLE. Done when its done and that really is all there is to it |

Canada at War - The Battle of Britain July 10, 1940 the Battle of Britain begins. This was a precursor to Operation Sea Lion, Hitler's plan to capture England. But in order for him to land troops on British soil, he first had to control the air. This was the task of the Luftwaffe. The Luftwaffe's attack force consisted, at the beginning, of around 2000 aircraft including a large proportion of Messerschmitt fighters, while the RAF only had about half that number of planes in Hurricanes and Spitfires. Outnumbering the British almost 2 to 1 the German Luftwaffe planned to attack RAF bases, then seaports and finally commence their ground assault. With nowhere else to turn, the British turned to Canada for support. Canada began to produce Hurricane fighters and train pilots to defend Britain. The Canadian fighter group 242 began to take a powerful role in the battle of Britain. This group shot down huge numbers of Messerschmitts while the British fighters were regrouping. Their only major loss was when a group of Messerschmitt 109s flew out of the sun in an ambush and shot down nine of them. The battle of Britain took an important turn when a stray German bomber came under attack from flak guns, dropped her bombs to reduce weight but didn't realize that he was flying over London, a target made off limits by Hitler. In retaliation, the Allies began to bomb German cities. With Hitler's subsequent order to bomb British cities, the pressure on British airbases and radar stations was relieved. This gave the RAF time to regroup and it began to achieve victories. German air losses eventually became so great that Hitler, with his attention now more focussed on the forthcoming invasion of Russia, was forced to give up his campaign and Operation Sea Lion was postponed indefinitely. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Bri...n_contribution Canadian contribution Many Canadians served in the fighter squadrons which repulsed the Luftwaffe in the summer of 1940. In fact, although the RAF only recognises 83 Canadian pilots as flying on fighter operations during the Battle of Britain, the RCAF claims the actual figure was over 100, and that of those 23 died and 30 were killed later in the war.[13][14] Another 200 Canadian pilots fought with RAF Bomber Command and RAF Coastal Command during the period and approx 2,000 Canadians served as ground crew. |

What's the big difference between UK English and US English?!
Why can't i just buy the UK English version and get it earlier? |

I wanna know why in the US, the UBI site says 4/26 and STEAM says 4/19...
at least you Europeans have ONE definitive release date.... |
What does "fairness" have to do with this?
Or the rampant nationalism so many of you are spouting? This is a business transaction taking place in the twenty first century, we are not waiting at the docks in New York for a load of sewing needles coming across the Atlantic via clipper ship. There is no reason why the downloand version should not be available to the entire world market on day of release. And no reason for a month's difference in the hard copy version either. For a bunch of folks that pretend at being so technologically savvy, you sure cling to some pretty old ideas about marketing in the modern world. |
It comes out April Fools Day
|
At this point I could care less about the fact that there is a month separation between the Euro/US dates.
I just want to know why the Can/US/SouthAmeri release date is still in this state of confusion.... Which date is correct? Why the hell is it so hard for Ubi et al to figure that out? |

You know, for a half second I thought, "Makes sense." You bastid!!!! LOL Good one, speculum. |

Also Kil->Miles should not be any problem at all because the planes instruments were all in kilometers right? SO what the hell are they changing? Are they changing the panels? Are they changing the on screen UI-which is easy to do because you just meed to put a modifier in with the equation for kil->mil reading. ANyway makes no sense. |

But you're forgetting a 'minor' detail: We also have different laws. E.g. your very own ESBR-rating-agency, which demands to receive and test games before they are distributed in the US. So if you want to bash somebody for a 4 weeks delay, I suggest you start looking in your own yard. Especially if they need 4 weeks to do so for every software that does not originate from the US... |

Actually it was mentioned that the translation team was really considering differences between: British carburettor, American carburetor and the like.
So a translation... between UK en US seems plausible albeit nitpicking. |
We yanks are always late for the party.....but we always manage to finish the party once we get there!
I will have a good old time flying ROF while waiting for COD. No big hurry here. Maybe they will have some of the bugs worked out by the time it is released here in the good old USA. |

I always enjoy watching our European friends behaving in the manner they so often accuse us of.
Pot meet Kettle. |
I wonder if the ESRB has been given a copy of the game yet? Might have something to do with the release delay.

Yup, i know, totally unexpected for me since i thought he fought all his battles in the west, i was surprised the first time i read about this too. The wikipedia article is actually quite good, you can have a look here if you are interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battles_of_Khalkhin_Gol This battle also marked the first fighter/bomber offensive in the history of the Soviet air force. Due to who the opposing armies/countries were, the presence of certain high-profile-to-be figures like Zhukov, plus certain ramifications that affected WW2 (pacifying the Manchurian front left the Soviet Union free to proceed with the non-agression pact with Germany and the partitioning of Poland that sparked WW2 in the first place) some people consider it "the only ww2 battle that was fought before the start of ww2". In that sense, one could say that unknowingly setting the cogs in motion in such a way makes Zhukov qualify as a commander that both helped start WW2 by winning in Khalkhin Gol and helped end it when he invaded Germany. The paranoia of history in action :-P I'm going to shut up now and let you all get back on topic about release dates  |
I'm from Canada, so like the Yanks, we'll have to wait for our friends in Europe to iron out most of the early bugs for us. ;^)
Three cheers for the Europe guys! P.S. We'll be over there to help you as soon as possible! ;-) |

Possibly we could lend lease some copies to you while you decide whether to join in for real? ;) |

And I thought the delay for the US version was because they were getting Maverick and Goose to film a special US only video feature about how Hollywood won the Battle of Britain (Possibly to be renamed as the Battle of New Jersey in the remake) >:-))
