Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals
With the COD looming in the next couple of weeks I have set about sorting out my hardware to use with it.
I am thinking of buying the Saitek Combat Pedals to use for rudder control, alongside my Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas, has anyone used these pedals alongside the Warthog and if so what are they like? Any comments would be really appreciated, thanks. |

Damn wish I had seen these before buying my saitek pedals.

But vario dont have brakes.
If you want brakes you'll be out €280 either way. |

If you want the best pick this...otherwise you can pick saitek stuff... |
I do recall having probems when I setup the pedals with rise of flight, the brake changed to fire lol was stumped until I realised the game had used the pedals for flying instead of the joystick, was fun trying to fly with just your feet :D

Anyone know where to get hydraulic pedals? If I search on the internet I only get those big boeing type pedals. which has the pedals quite close to eachother.
I would love to buy some rudders like the simpeds but then hydraulic. |

But not mass produced. At this time i cant find it on their shops. Maybe you could email or call them to ask if they will have a other production run. pics: Google on images with search text: SimAviatik pedals |

I have the regular Saitek rudder pedals. There are the same as the combat ones as far as I can tell, though with plastic foot-rests rather than aluminum.
Anyway I have never had any problem with them. My only minor complaint would be that they tend to "stick" just a little bit in the center. I suspect this is actually a feature to make you more aware of when your rudder is centered but I would prefer a smooth action through the center for fine adjustment/aiming. Anyway I just realized while typing that I could probably fix this by setting a small deadzone so thanks for making me think of it! |
Yes, the Combat pedals have the exact same base as the old Saitek unit. The only difference is the metal pedals instead of plastic.
So these are the best to buy? http://shop.strato.de/epages/219707....%2011%20007%22 Seem to include toe brakes and all. Hopefully the shipping to Oz isn't an arm and a leg... |

I wonder how feasible it is to build one with two door gas springs. When the weather warms up, I'm gonna try to construct one. I have the ch pedals, while I have done some mods (increased spring strength, removed center detents), the travel is not smooth even after some WD40. It being only 8bits is also kinda crappy.

In the meantime I got my Simped Vario pro USB pedals....they are fantastic! Very smooth, precise and comfortable....way better than my old saiteks...Logarithmic control response setup proved to be the best for IL2 (with a bit of a tweaking the jaw input values in il2 input screen)....
