Well now I know why people don't play this game anymore, or quit before they get good at it. I joined a realistic dogfight with three other guys:
Easy-D1, AR Kozz, and rackemupgz. After the game started I put my mic on and I hear one of these fine gents say, "Lets all go after waterman, he doesn't have a mic". He then proceeds to chuckle a little and repeats his sportsman-like statement. I chime in with "Hey a@#hole I do have a mic". He then tries to backout by saying he was only kidding...Bull !!! A few minutes later my wife asks me what happened. I tell her these other players are ganging up on me. Once again the same guy tells me to get over it, and get out of the kitchen if I can't take the heat....Good one!!!
I see all throughout this forum complaints about the lack of players in IL-2. I'm not playing to be the world's IL-2 champ. I'm playing to have fun. But it's this type of BS, by these types of guys that makes this game a huge turn-off. you guy(s) should be so proud of yourselves.

If those guys said that in an arcade match to me I would think its Christmas. Thats like a red flag and an open invitation to remove safteys and let rip with everything.

Even if they were experienced players I would still go on a rampage

Not very sporting behaviour though. Surprised by that as the regulars on BoP seem to have more honour in the game.

Not all players are like that TBH, most are pretty decent just put it down to a one off experience rather than ditch the game.

Same thing happened to me once.
Joined what was supposed to be a dogfight with 4 players which turned out to become a team battle 3 vs me.
Once I realized the tactic I was, kinda f_ckin bastards as they sailed under falseflag. Then I kinda got DKwookie like, it was a red flag....... :evil:

I stayed the whole match outnumbered, got killed alot of times but who says it always has to be fair circumstances for a fight ?

The gang up on an unknowing victim is bad sportmanship, I dont like that, but being in that situation, I choose to make the best out of it. Improving my escape and return skills and not letting the bad sportmanship get to ruin my love for this beautiful game.

There will always be new sessions with cool flyers coming up....

some players are just cheap
 

What a bunch of tools, i'll remember these name and pass them on to the rest of my clan we don't like team play in dogfights it's the reason we founded the clan, Though i can see in the future we might have to be doing some ourselves watch out easy di etc; skullbreakers are gunning for you in realistic,
I already knew easy was a cheap player but kozz i'm suprised at this

Came across one of the afore mentioned this weekend, In CTA he managed to get 32 kills..... 18 of these kills were friendly fire related, I put in two friendly fire kills on him... I'm told he's a good kid but I'm not sure myself

Sadly that cta game just went to demonstrate the stupidity that nukl stated at the start of this thread. It's one thing to accidentally bomb someone once on your own team when there's an opposing member down and needs must but his bombing was deliberate and really wound me up. Couple this to the fact that Branko was loaded with 8000lbs and didn't kill any if her own team only serves to re-enforce the idiot tag. The TB wasn't much better afterwards as he took rocketship Ajax and proceeded to just tool about at 30,000ft whilst the rest of us tried to dogfight. I'm now only going to play with guys I know as at least then there's at least gentlemanly conduct instead of immature stupidity. Plus I'll happily get shot down by anyone of these as they'll have worked fairly to get the kill.

agreed the games i played i felt i was largely unsupported by most not all of my team mates. The games i played with Ratman and davedog however were some what different

This is part of the reason why I will stick with arcade to the death (which is iminent judging by lack of players on Friday).
I have invested too much time, blood, sweat and tears on this game to put up with rocket jocky, team stacking, team killing idiots I can't defend against cos I don't know the limits of my realistic spitfire. I can deal with all these things easliy in arcade mode.
Life is too full of stress to get wound up by playstation.

That wasn't me, don't blame everybody. I was only even there cause there was nobody on in simulator, and I mostly attacked easy cause he was run-and-gunning, getting lots of kills (and deaths) and racking up points.

This is why you should be careful naming names, Waterman. Now you've got other people blaming me. Don't assume one player speaks for everybody.

I don't remember killing you much, but if so, it was simple best-target selection. Check my sim rankings, I don't need a posse. Only player I deliberately zeroed in on was easy when he had the lead.

Kozz is right here though i over reacted because that sort of play really annoys me. But waterman remember if you want a fair game in realistic arcade or sim look for myself, gilly davedog or ratman and koz and the match will be a fair one.

Kozz, I don't think Shadow was deliberately naming you, anyone with half a brain who reads what you post on here would figure your not the sort of person or pilot who would engage in that. I think most people know who the guilty parties are and as you say your mostly in sim so I was suprised as any to see you mentioned in a realistic match. I think after suffering the indignation that watermann suffered I would be likely to just state who was in the game should I post something, however watermann does nothing more that just that. He doesn't state it was you that spoke just the fact that you were in there too. Rest assured i along with I'm pretty sure the rest of the guys who visit here don't implicate you with this more just the actual fact that you were there.

Thats cool, but I had two reasons to name names. One was to vent my fustrations, especially with the amount of chatter regarding the lack of players, and two, because I have never played with any of you three before, and I didn't recognize the voices, so I didn't know who was doing the yapping. I knew that posting the names would get some kind of dialog from at least one of the three players. So with that being said, I must say thanks for the reply to my thread and clearing things up. To throw a pre-emptive water strike here, Xbox and ps3 players are both great and not great depending on their relative skill level. Personally i cannot wait for the first cross platform online game if only to make communities for such games as this larger.
Can you image if all three platforms could play against and with each other you'd never have to wait long for a match

Also Lost Planet Colonies Edition allows PC and 360 multiplayer crossover. I was going to get that from Steam but apparently you need Windows PC Live gold account to do it. Resent paying to play PC games online

Well. I guess somewhere in the line, their evolution has been a bad thing. Their ability for coherent thought is used for evil and their rationale is gained through condescention. I hate when that happens, but unfortunately it does! Whats this world coming to? Who cares if you arent "good"... games are for fun, not being the best. i didn't single out the" new guy" that match i was just shooting at whoever i could find "it was a sim dog fight".ive been in dogfights before and heard guys seriously apoligize when they shoot down one of there buddys.you no your in trouble then.i could of been guilty of that myself that time when your so used to flying with the same guys that in that split second you have to decide on following 2 planes breaking in differant directions that you subconciously go after the new guy.

Hahaha, unfortunately that was the only game on that night, and thats kinda my point. I also play SOCOM: Confrontation, and there is ALWAYS ample amounts of players and matches ALL the time! Now I know I shouldn't compare the two, but I've played enough to know that BoP has a great community and that is one reason I keep coming back for more, but such gaming tactics as were demontrated that night make BoP undesirable to some, especially for newcomers.
Heres a question: do you think "teaching" those few bad apples a lesson a neccessary evil, so that they either learn to play "nicely" or stop playing altogether? Is it for the greater good of BoP?

+1, try moving up to Sim mode if you can find the fights. Nobody raids the sim matches that I've seen. The free-for-all is just free-for-all.

I've been working too much to play much lately, and a lot of the older players have stopped posting - but hopefully I can still get a ladder going. It will have to mean people moving up from realistic. The team matches are generally better, even if it's just 2 v 2.

Even if there's nobody else online, you can benefit quite a bit from 1 on 1 sim matches, where you can practice advanced maneuvers you don't get a chance to in free-for-alls. Even if you get destroyed, you'll probably pick up a few tips. Also if you play a high enough ranked opponent, even getting 1 kill is likely to increase your rank dramatically.

it's down to players not game modes, the few time i tried to play sim the "aces" weres not as friendly as they would have you believe.
I ended the game being the only person they killed.
You can't speak for everyone kozz there are bad apples in sim too.waterman you played with me before did i team up on you with every one else? I'm pretty sure i didn't unless we in a team battle.....

Watermann I feel your pain Ive been ganged up before , but also sometimes like Kozz said it just targets that same person over and over thats what happened to me one time in dogfight with Winny and after game told him I was sorry but that he was always my 1st target when I re-spawned. But to get to my real point to everybody i guess is just enjoy the game and be thankful you have a good wife who lets you play. The other day i came home and my wife ( a.k.a. Satan ) and she had smashed my PS3 into a million pcs. ( also sorry to davedog ,McKinney,shadow, Gilly the other night on that strike mission where i quit with about a minute to go that was the start of the fight ) so now i only have my sadness and misery to keep me company. So the next time you get pissed off @ somebody and want to quit the game just think of 'ole kidrock40 sittin @ home with nuthin. its been GREAT playin with you guys and you ALL are very nice people to play with..... .Gilly,shadow,McKinney if any of you guys read this be sure to tell davedog and chameleon why i haven't been on and that i will probally never be back .......... As long as you're playing Aracade/Realistic, with names over peoples planes you are not playing a free for all. Whether planned or unplanned people are going to team up against you. In Sim, unless you're the only one flying a MC202, no one is going to know who you are unless they really, really have a grudge against you.

I know what game modes i am playing mate, i'm not blind. i know when i'm being ganged up on so..... despite your claims, simulator isn't the end to these probelms, but infact because there is no hud/targeting you can be ganged up on and those doing it will not even know they're doing it.

this thread is about a dogfight, why would I be talking about team battles?

The point was the game will be as much like air combat as you set it up to be. There hasn't been a free-for-all air combat in history that I know of. Maybe one or two by mistake.

Don't take my opinion of FFA too personal. Maybe I shouldn't call it dog-shit, sorry if that was offensive. But as a form of air combat it's hard to take FFA seriously. I don't worry about the points anymore, only getting a high KDR.

Even if you were flying a plane with bad camo that marked you out from the rest I don't believe these aces would shoot you down and then ignore each other and wait till you reappeared.

I never said it was the end. It is extremely unlikely to happen in Sim. Conversely it is extremely likely to happen in Arcade/Realistic.

so what happened to me those three times i played simulator is completley unlikley to happen.... cool, i defied the odds but still doesn't change the fact it happened.
I don't gang attack people in dogfight, shame on those who do and it happens in every mode.

Hurricane is Bucketmanroc, we have a little inside joke going at the moment thanks to some aussie kid called Sqirt...something. He sent Bucket a message calling him a cheap shot for joking saying "lets get the Squirt" or something like that. Not that we could really gang up on him as we were playing sim.

Just an FYI mate but there is no silver or gold account with PC Windows Live. MS removed the payment feature for PC gamers about 2 years ago. Every single PC GFWL account it essentially a "gold" account with full access to all features of a title for free. The actual silver and gold accounts are only for Xbox 360.

I beat him 1v1 in a LA-5, he was flying a LA-7 and he accused me of cheating. :rolleyes:

Don't worry about him, he's clearly one of two people on PS3 who I've met, who take losing to such extremely absurd lengths you have to question their mental health.

There is people like that in every game on every system. Ive had similar experiences with CoD4. I was playing hardcore match on the PC version and I leaped out from hiding (litterally) and shot 2 guys in one burst. One was a headshot the second was a double hit in the chest. They both then took it upon themselves to tell everyone I was using an aimbot and wallhacks. However it was simply the case that I was told by a squad mate that they were there, and that with a K/b & mouse setup I can have an extremely deadly aim.

So I wouldn't take it to seriously, some people just cant stand getting beaten by a better player no matter the game.

Yeah, but I really don't expect that kind of attitude from people in their 30s/40s. I know they're out there but the beauty of PC is you can find a great community on a well admin'd server and never have to suffer those kind of people.
