Is this release date for SoW: Battle of Britain correct?

April 30, 2010. At least that is what the website below says about the release of Storm of War: Battle of Britain. It even has the option to pre-order the game already :S

"It even has the option to pre-order the game already..." We yes, they like people to send them money, so they can collect interest on it. Websites have been doing this for years. (can anyone find a posting referring to the earliest one?).

To answer your question, I'd say 'highly unlikely' given what Oleg Maddox has said, and what we've seen regarding it's current state of development. The optimists around here are suggesting August, but anyone who actually knows (If anyone does) isn't telling yet.

The game has been on pre-order from several sites since 2006. The release date is totally fabricated. I'd wait.

it has been awhile, but as I recall Oleg never told us when. There are so many people that will have knowledge of SOW when it goes Gold... it will be all over the net.

Too many people are too anxious for this one. Also, Oleg has been pretty generous sharing information for the past few months. I'd say we're looking at this year for sure.

I think it's cool Oleg isn't sharing much more than he is. I've never been disappointed with any release except PE-2, which had the spyware thingy in it.

Oleg made it right for everyone with IL2 1946. A darned awesome way to wrap up a great series, and then he decided to let TD take a shot at IL2.

We are going to have one kick tail new Air Combat Flight sim WW2 genre.

I wouldn't rely on anything about release dates you read about on the web.

S!

I would believe on anniversary of Battle Of Britain, around this date. A perfect timing and a sim that will blow competition out of the water. And best release date is "When ready." :)

HFC_Dolphin 02-22-2010 06:00 AM

I prefer the 10th of July as the day that Battle of Britain begun.

Sounds good to me.

I don't really care if release date shares some historical moment.

I doubt that bugs and business do either. It will be released when it's ready, not when the bell rings.

@ edal86:
When a release-date will be announced, it will probably happen here first. So as long as you don't see a sticky with a release-date, doubt any date given by 3rd hand.

zakkandrachoff 02-22-2010 11:35 AM

october 2010 whit lucky they said. or 2011. still missing so many things i think. AI, multiple programming staff, raadar operator, and mmore.

Rumours, rumours, rumours....
If one doesn't know anything, one should be quiet.
As long as not even the distributor is known the only people with knowledge are the members of developing team.
And as it was said many times: better a finished product later than a public beta now!

no

Baron 02-22-2010 12:23 PM

Well its the most accurate date so far, imho.

give or take "2 weeks" it should be somwhere between march -10 and dec -10 :)

HFC_Dolphin 02-22-2010 02:29 PM

What I meant is that there are 2 opinions to which is the date that BoB started.
I prefer the early one :-)

Tree_UK 02-22-2010 05:02 PM

Cannot see it being released this year guys in all honesty, 2011 for sure, it needs to be.

Oleg said that that date is just not viable economically.

Tree_UK 02-22-2010 06:10 PM

Well i hope he is right, truly i do. But there still appears to be an awful lot of work to do before the marketing process kicks in, you would imagine at least six months of a dedicated website, interviews and game conventions to get the interest that SOW deserves.

lets wait for the C6 interview, maybe after we'll be able to make conclusions ;)

philip.ed 02-22-2010 07:50 PM

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath. I'm happy with the games I'm playing now (il-2 and BoB2) and I'm enjoying watching SoW grow and grow each update.

Doogerie 02-23-2010 09:13 AM

SOW will come out this year Oleg has sated that he does not have the money to continue development for another year i saw a interview woth some of the IL2 team a few weeks ago on you tube and it looks almost ready so yeah SOW FOR 2010
