I get waxed almost every time I play online, which is Kinda embarassing considering the time I've spent in live aircraft and full motion simulators :oops: LoL.

Has to be on sim mode -

chasing a spitfire that was chasing one of my team mates, then fired at it at shot it down, while this was happening one of my teams mates was shouting over the mic that HE was getting shot at, i assumed it was the team mate that the spitfire was chasing........

i was wrong.

It turned out the spitfire i was chasing and shooting WAS the team mate, but the best part was the team mate i was shooting was ALSO chasing a team mate and shooting him. Rather messed up. Could all of been avoided if the first player that was getting shot up had a mic.

Wasnt sure if i was either a team killer, or a team saver... hmm..

That's what i have. Target fixation. I cannot help myself of shooting down that particuliar plane and not going for another one. I have to get that target. I dont care how meny Figthers there are on my tail, I just have to get him! :-x

I remember that i had the whole RAF ( not Joking) on my six just because i shot down 2 spits on a single streak! that'll show 'em..;)

My most embarrassing moment is anytime I play Live. I just die, over and over and over again, even when I know guys are flying to let me get a kill.

Need more time to learn!

The key is to know what your enemy is flying and how it flies. Uses its weakness against it no matter how boring it may be.

For example,

i've just been playing against sloppyclock, and i must admit i was abit suspect when he chose the I-16 (I had the hurricane as always :D ) but i have to give him credit, he knew -

a) how to fly the I-16
b) how to fly against the hurricane

If i got onto his 6 then he would jsut go into a crazy turn (this is on sim mode btw), he was so hard to keep in my sights, he was able to out turn me so all i could do was get any shot of i could in the brief second i had to shoot, hope it did damage (the I-16 is weak) then run away and use my speed (not fast, but faster than him) to get away while trying to lose him down low.

IF i did damage then it makes it harder for him to fly, and easier for me to get the kill.

All credit to him, he knew how to use it!! he didnt stall it or have the engine cut out once at any height.

Also in the game was reddisback and he stumped us by flying the A20 in a dogfight, but he only died once!!!

he knew that our planes would struggle for speed against his, and he knew he had guns to get us. Generally we tried to stay away from him ;) which i think unfurtunately may of made the game boring for him. Sorry redd :(


The point is - know what your enemy is flying and how to counter it :D you'll soon pick it up.

Definately when I tore my teammate to shreds thinking he was the enemy... Sorry DoraNine! =P

For me it was last night I'd say. If I can't shake a guy I'll bring him down to the deck where I'm pretty good (what? Iam!) and more often than not end up running them into the ground (ask edal86!) but last night I ran into a guy named djdaco420 or something like that and he did it to me! My smug confidence was shattered and I found myself sitting back and saying "nice!". Felt pretty silly. This guy was a riot by the way, he sounded like the biggest pot head EVER but was funny as hell. We had a couple awesome tussles where I'd barrel roll and chop the throttle, he'd slowly slip by and try to accelerate away only to pull the same trick on me. All the while I'm kicking my self and he's saying "I'm coming for you Hauptmann". I think we ended up about 3-2 in my favour but what a blast.

I was SO embarrassed when I accidently dropped a bunch of bombs on my teammate when playing CTA. I forget who but I know it was someone from the forums, and I didn't have my mic to apologize.:(

earlier today flying a sim game in berlin, hugging the rooftops then down to the river to get as low as possible to evade FOZ, up came a bridge, i pulled up slightly to go over it and hit a lamppost.

Every time I auger in not paying attention to my attitude. Which is too often! Particularly when I'm smokin. I feel like players are thinkin "he crashes on purpose to avoid being killed" kinda thing. Yeah, and droppin bombs on your buddy is a bad one!!!!

LOL - this happened to me once. I was on the airfield and I was being bombed by a teammate who made a strafing pass at the airfield.

My embarrassing moment- reverting back to arcade to unlock planes and getting owned by everybody. That and playing against edal86. My mother always told me humility is a good thing! ;)

HAHAHAHA!!! I know what you mean!!! There are guys in Arcade that WILL own you. Happens to me every night!!!! Lots of them play in a team. I can here them talking. One sets you up and the other nails you. Real hard to beat a team in any game. Keep an eye out for WAZMATIC in arcade. He's damn good.

Mine has to be my first Sim Strike match that I played. I'm playing with a friend who was flying a bomber with me as escort. The game starts with me on his wing. We head to target trying to climb to get a little alt. Half way to target we hit a cloud bank and get sperated. I start flying circles to see if I can find my big friend and without realizing it get turned around and end up flying back to my base. At the same time he dies and happens to spawn as I come out of the clouds a few thousand feet over him and our base. (Now mind you I still think I'm over the other teams base) Remembering the other team had a few He 111's I attack. In my dive I see someone else attacking him and figured we would make this two on one and finish the 111 off quickly. I over shoot who I thought was on my team and latch onto the bomber. My supposed team mate backs off while I proceed to throw everything I had at this bomber. At first the bomber wasn't shooting back (which I did find strange...) but after a few passes it was ON. We then get into a running battle that lasted almost 10 mins. My planes shot to sh@#, the 111 is shot to sh@# and the guy who I thought was my wingman was just watching the whole show. I'm pretty heated now, the battle was so intense I was standing on the edge of my couch making slight passing referrences at the 111's pilots mother and country of orgin. It just woundn't go down!!! I finally lay in with a finishing shot and down my foe. I'm about to ask who was watching that spectacle when the guy I thought was my teammate swoops in and kills me. At about the same time my friend realizing his mic was muted starts screaming how some insane idiot in a 109 on our team just shot him down after a long running battle.

Had to be the best face palm ever!!!

Hey HauptmanMolders, I was there. AND it was a team battle AND you were on my side. I sent you a message saying I recognized your handle from the forum. You said "hey" back. From there it went downhill. The little messages kept popping up saying "Hauptmanmolders killed by so and so". Several times. We lost the match. I had six kills, you had, um, 1. One. ONE. I'm not flaming you!!! I swear!!! Just confirming your story.

LOL! Win!

During a realistic match, I got on an opponent's six and opened fire, only to trim the wings off an ally that was performing a sudden 90 degree climb in between us, out of nowhere.

Was me, edal and another fella, us two onto edal, he was flogging us and I finally dived in right on his tail and thought "shit my team mate" so throttled past to the plane he was chasing, fired, and realized it was my team mate, just as edal turned my plane into Swiss cheese

I think the most embarrasing thing would be when i was chasing a 109 had him in my sights when there was a long burst shot vertically across my nose by a team mate i twisted to avoid the fire asking what the 'ell he was doing, only to see a blazing yak scream past minus a wing , if i had been flying my original course it would have hit me. Many apologies and thanks to that guy.

the most embarasing bop moment was when i follow a me109 in teamdeath match ,i opened the fire to down this guy but one guy of my team follow the same ennemy and i didn't see it and the guy of my team go between me and the ennemy :the result i shoot down my wingman and missed the ennemy
i think the ennemy must laugh!!!lol!!!!!!!

i have shot people down before because they cross my gunsight i have this rule

if im chasing an enemy leave me to it or fire from behind, above or below not directly infront of me

Yes someone coming in between you and your prey can get annoying I have seen this several times.

Hahaha Yes I hate that too. Once a few weeks back I was flying my hurricane and firing at a 109 when you wouldn't believe it, 1 then another friendly Spitfire mkiX flew inbetween us and into my fire, I was a bit pissed off and just kept firing at the 109. Well somehow the first Spit stole my kill, then got killed by my friendly fire. The second Spit crashed into the exploding first spit and I flew just underneith the huge ball of flame. I lol though, it wasn't embarising for me, they deseved it. I can't remember being embarased at all playing this game in fact, its all for fun.

Nobody at the moment. Been unemployed for the past few months which is why I can waste so much time on video games and the internet :-P

lol i remeber when me and trk were on 1 side and i think subarugaz aka spitfire and hauptman were against me trk was being shot at i shot at the guy chasing him and 1 bullet made its way past my target and blew trk out the sky
it was a few months ago so i dont know if this entirely acurate

Here's one for the collection of embarrassing moments:

I love the 109's. Usually I like to fly against a flight of 5-6 spitfire MkII in a Emil. However, today I did something... well, you be the judge.

I set up the training mode: 5000 meters to start with, and altitude advantage taken. Realistic mode, limited F/A, Dover as the scenery. Hazy weather and evening as the time setting. Veteran AI setting.

There I was, flying around to get the 6 spitfires I choose as opponents. I immediately dove to get the first two, full throttle at 19,000ft. I lined up the dark shaped planes and opened fire. Within the first seconds one of the spiffies bursted into flames, the second one was diving so I followed him and got a long range deflection shot at 900 meters that left the bastard smoking and spinning. Now to zoom back to the perch and get the other 4. As I climbed at 45º and 290 Kts. I targeted the closest spitfire and changed to the third person view to watch him try to follow me. Not far behind him were the rest of the spitfires climbing to get me... then is when things got interesting:

The spitfires weren't stalling! I had climbed close to 5000 ft and my airspeed was below 100 Kts and the suckers kept on coming! Then, when one got close enough, the target display showed the full aircraft ID: they were Spitfires Mk IX!!! I must have made a mistake while setting enemies on the setup screen. Needless to say that they tore a new butthole on me. However, I did managed to shoot them all down on my second attempt.

When I spend more than an hour turning around aimlessly, hoping to find the two damned AI YAK-3 that seem to predict and counter my every move.The best part?I was still shot down in the end.

You know i actually think i remember that, i specifically remembered saying "what the hell" then saw who had made the kill and had to laugh a little

See I bought this Game,And I had waited for it for like 3 years.Well the game had a bunch of good stuff about it,but it had this bad scoring problem and some of the aircraft did not work right.Anyway I waited and waited
for them to get it fixed but they were so busy working on there next game it took forever to get a update.Then the guys had the NERVE to talk about using there own money to work on the game.Never thinking of the money I had spent.Then on there site I found more info on the next game than on the update.Well the people all stopped playing the game,now I cant find a game so I just traded it in on Forza 3 got 20.00 bucks for it!And yes after waiting that long for the game and then to be treaded that way by the game makers. Yes I was embarrassed .Embarrassed that I was not smart enough to just say"There is something wrong with this game things like brakes dont work with my stick,The only U.S fighter does not work right.It just does not work like the game says it will."Its broke" I want ALL my money back Im sure I could have,Thats whats embarassing..

Wow, I did not see that one coming. Actually, I'm quite surprised someone came up with this so late. I was almost starting to believe this forum would go without rants for a while :eek:. Thanks for proving me wrong with yet another useful post :).

we are all wating and we all want the update be patiant at least they are giving us news now

There are quite a few non-US planes that work pretty well, you know. Also, trying the demo would have shown you that the P51 was crap, so you should probably be more embarassed for "wasting" your own money despite the facility to try before you buy.
